“Turn around” they both heard.
The person said again”Turn around now. Your hands to your head”
Lila who was still scared, got even more scared when she heard the voice. She and Lannon quickly took their hands to thier head as they both turned around.
“Move!” the person pushed them and they began to move immediately. Lannon kept giving Lila eye signals that it was going to be ok. Surely. They kept on moving but all of a sudden Lannon stopped,
” Hey, I said move” the masked man behind them who held the gun said.
Lila just stood as she waited for what Lannon was actually planning on doing. She watched him as he kept tapping his foot on the ground and before anyone could think anymore a huge net from above came falling over them but Lannon was quick to get himself and Lila out before the net caught the masked man off guard.
“f-__-k” Lannon screamed, his hand on his stomach as they both fell to the foor, Lila laying beside him. She quickly rushed to him when she saw how his hand clenched his stomach tightly. When she removed his hand, he was bleeding and it was awful.
“Christ! What the hell happened to you?” she asked him.
He winced in pain when she touched him where he was bleeding “Lila go back to your room. I’ll handle this” he gritted his teeth.
” I can’t leave you like this. Let me you. I’ll be quick, I promise” she cooed. Then she looked at the man trapped in the net “he’s unconscious now, right?” she pointed to him and Lannon only nooded. She looked at him “Now, stay still. Let me get this done”
She quickly cut a piece of her clothes and used it to wrap his wound around his stomach to stop the bleeding. After some minutes, their ar breathing had stabilized and they were seated on the floor, their backs restimg 9n the wall behind them.
” You can go back to your room now Lila. “Lannon finally had the strength to speak.
“What are you going to do with him? ki|| him?” she pointed to the unconscious masked person.
“He would have ki||ed us anyway” he shrugged.
Lila wasn’t surprised but still she gulped hard.
” Who are are they anyway?”
Lannon looked at her “hey, Lila just go to your room. When everything is settled, I will tell you what’s going on” he told her.
She was hesitant, before she stood up slowly nodding and left. A few minutes later, while she was in her room lying down, she heard the sound of gunshots. What was happening? Who was shot? She couldn’t just lay here and do nothing. And besides, Lannon was injured badly what if he wouldn’t be able to fight backand they attacked him.
Without thinking twice, she jumped down from the bed and run as fast as she could to were Lannon was just before she left but there was no one there. She decided to check the plant house, they might be there. She got there and she started hearing voices again but there were no longer distant. She decided to eavesdrop on what they were saying, one of the voices she recognised to be Lannon’s and the other she knew it was the man who attacked them.
“Who sent you?” She heard Lannon ask.
“C’mon you have no idea that keeping that girl can cost you your life. Let us have her. You have nothing to do……”
“Shut up!” She heard lannon yell and a gunshot followed.
She almost puked, thinking how the bullet would have passed through the shot man head. Thinking he was dead, she was about walking away but then, she heard a voice,
“You know what her father did. He owes us. I’m not the only one, lots of people are out there who wants that girl to be tormented. Even if you ki|| me you can’t protect her” she heard the man say and her heart skipped a beat and without even thinking anymore so barged into the room.
“Here, this is me”her eyes was red as she spoke. “What did my father do to you?”
Lannon who had been caught off guard because of the way she barged in was quick to point his gun at her but when he saw she was the one he lowered it,
“f-__-k Lila, I would have shot you now”he yelled, raking his hand through his hair “I told you to stay in your room”
“Well I couldn’t sleep knowing these people want me. I should at least know what they want”she looked at the man that had attacked them. He was chained with iron chain to a huge rod and he bled from his nose. Infact he stinked. One of his arms had been shot and he was really bleeding profusely.
Lannon could only sigh as he stared at her “fine. But don’t cross your limits” he moved backwards so she could have enough space to deal with him. So, she moved closer to the almost dying man and squatted before him
” look whoever is the bastard sending you all to get me, tell that person I said screw him. What the hell?? He had issues with my dad not me” she yelled.
The man looked at her with his bleeding swollen eyes and began laughing. He laughed so hard that he got Lila furious,
“Give me your gun” she turned to Lannon fuming with anger
“For Christ sake, what do you think you are doing Lila. I told you do not cross your f-__-king limit”Lannon didn’t give her.
” I said give me the f****** gun” she yelled stretching her hands towards Lannon.
Everywhere was silent till Lannon finally spoke “Get out Lila. We are leaving now” Without even waiting for her dragged her out “What do you think you want to do?”he asked once they were out
She removed her hand from his grip and turned to him, her face was straight, she was beating hard but she didn’t speak. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d ever been angry to such an extent.
“Are you out of your mind?”he yelled.
She folded her hands “What? You you ki|| people, why can’t I ki|| him?”
Lannon laughed “Guess you are really a dummy after all”
“I’m not f-__-king joking”she wasn’t even smiling.
” You are f-__-king crazy if you think I’d let you stain your innocent hand with blood”
“Why?”she asked.
“Just get out Lila “he was no longer laughing “I said get out of here or I will $h00t you.” he wasn’t joking as he pointed his gun to her. He meant it and he was going to do it. She knew she had to obey or he might actually $h00t her.
She ran back to her room and laid back on her bed as she began to cry. Sne wanted to scream, she wanted to yell, she wanted nothing to do with any of these. Where was her perfect life? Had it just gone like it never existed? She kept thinking until she finally slept off.
