It sent so much tingling feelings down her system so she kissed him back in the way she could. It really took Lannon a lot of patience not to kiss her roughly and ski||ed since he noticed she was not really a ski||ed kisser. Her hands now travelled to his hair as she was now getting better with the pace of his lips but then he reluctantly pulled out. Her hands slowly left his hair and dropped to his broad shoulders as her lips were slightly open and she was steadying her breath.
” That was your first kiss, right?”Lannon asked. She looked up at him, slowly nodded and then he gave out a mischievous smirk that quickly brought her back to reality. She removed her hands from his shoulders immediately and straightened up.
“Yes that was my first kiss. So?”she began to rant “you don’t have to smirk in that manner. I lent you my lips simply because I had sympathy for you not for you to make a mockery of me”she talked, clearly irritated by how he smirked after she acknowledged it was her first kiss.
Lannon blinked at her repeatedly like she was speaking foriegn language. “What?”he asked. He really didn’t understand what suddenly got her angry.
“What?!”her pitch was high cause she was upset.
“I’d have said we try it again since it strangely made me feel better but i feel you are angry with me cause of something I’m unaware of”he pouted like he was trying to gain sympathy again.
“What?”she was suprised”it made you feel better?”she asked. She read a very strange meaning into that his usual smirk. She thought maybe she couldn’t kiss well or maybe he didn’t like the taste of her mouth.
“You lost your self confidence?”he suddenly asked like he was reading her mind”what did you think miss Steele. Why the sudden anger?”he chuckled.
“Hey, hey. I lost no self confidence “she defended.
“We should probably try the kiss again. I could help you check”he pulled closer to her.
She quickly pushed him”Pfft. You’re really something”she rolled her eyes.
They were now silent as the sound of the water waves could only be heard. Lila decided to speak,
“You can tell me. That might be my only way of helping you. You just can’t know”she shrugged looking at him hoping to get a reply but instead he jumped into the pool. Splashing water all over her. Her mouth curved into an ‘oh’ shape as she cleaned water off her face.
“Seriously? “She widened her eyes and Lannon laughed hard. She folded her hands a gave out a really stern glare. She was about to speak when he swam to where she was and rested his hands on her tigh.
“My parents died when i was twelve Lila. I’m not so fond of those stern glares mom’s give”he chuckled but lila found herself staring at him.
“Are you being serious?”she asked.
“If you don’t believe, you can’t possibly understand me even if i decide to tell you what you want to hear”
“I’m sorry. I just didn’t…..”she paused and then,”what ki||ed them?”she asked.
“They were murdered”he blankly stated.
“Are they the reason why you chose your job?”she suddenly blurted out but Lannon didn’t reply her”I’m sorry if i was being too foward.”she apologised
“I’d have thought you were dull but you just proved you are smart”he chuckled. Lila frowned and before she could retaliate, he dragged her into the water.
“Lannon!!!”she shrieked, her whole body now soaked.
“The name of my agency is TC- Just TC agency. Guess what that means?”he quickly held her mouth to prevent her from yelling for him dragging her into the pool.
She bit his hamd and pushed him hard”how am i supposed to know that. TC could mean anything “she cleaned water of her face.
“Okay now, I admit you’re dull”he laughed
Lila frowned.
“Trust care. It means trust care agency”he held her hand before she could swim out of the pool.
“Okay. How was i supposed to know that. ”
“I’m giving you a chance to know about me Lila. You want to let it slide?”he looked at her.
She quickly shook her head”no”she said and Lannon laughed.
“Good. Now Trust care is just the external name of my agency. The actual name is Tony and Carolyn. I named it after my parents. I was only seventeen then”he explained.
“Seventeen? “She was now curious”how did you cope?”
“Wasn’t much of a big deal then plus I had uncle mascow. Been like a second dad to me”he smiled then dug his head into the water
Lila felt pity”Now I think of it. I have really had a great life since birth. Never knew what suffering feels like” she spoke”I’m really sorry about your parents.”
“I could make you suffer if you want”he smirked at her.
“Pfft. I’ve known what suffering is like since I met you”she rolled her eyes.
“And you’ll be suffering so much by the time I let you go”his eyes suddenly became intense.
“And why is that?”she frowned.
“The fact that you’re now officially broke”he chuckled.
Her eyes widened before she quickly shrugged”well I was expecting that. My dad’s account and other account related to he’s has been restricted and under investigation right?
“How smart!” Lannon teased but Lila didn’t respond to him instead she swam back to the edge of the pool
“My dad’s sin was beyod imaginable and i feel so sorry for him. I know you reported his case to the police and I know it was the right thing to do. What if i get invovled with all these investigations. I really won’t know what to say. I… “she teared up.
Lannon swam to where she was and pat her back.” I told you I kept you cause i had to protect you right?”
She turned to him and held his hand.”who are the people after me. Please tell me”
“Some traitors from your family”he sincerely said and Lila could sense it.
“Will I be alright”she looked at him with misty eyes.
“Yes”he gave a short and reassuring reply.
Lila twitched her eyes”control issues?”
“It’s more like an addiction”he replied.
When Lila got back to her room, she quickly took her laptop and checked updates on her dad. Just as she expected, they were investgations on his matter. Well she guessed, her family had finally been dragged into the mud. This was just too much for her!
