Family tradition 9
They drove down to the building where David was waiting for them.
The building was coated in white paint, the interior was not completed yet.
An infuriated David stood there frowning his face, immediately they walked in he landed a punch on one of the men’s face.
He staggered a little bit but managed to stay on his feet.
“Why did you hurt her?!” David yelled at them angrily.
” I did not mean to do it boss, but she refused to open the doors so I had to use force” the leader replied.
” You knocked her unconscious, fools!!” He pause and walks over to where they stood, he glares at them before asking;
“Where’s the tape he gave her?”
The tallest amongst them and their supposed leader, brought out the disc and gave it to David.
David held it on his hand and gave it a good look before putting it in a backpack.
” I hope you kîlled the Private investigator, Kingsley?” He asked them as he prepared to leave.
They didn’t reply him, the leader spoke after some seconds of silence. He stuttered a bit
” N..no we did not ki|| him, he was not at the supermarket.”
” So you are telling me he is still out there finding ways to destroy my marriage!!” David shouted.
” Go back out there and look for him, make sure he is déàd before this week runs out.” David spoke with distress.
He left the building, got into his car and sped off.
At the hospital…
Dorathy woke up with an eerie feeling, she felt a bit dizzy and was about to stand up when a certain voice said;
” You need to relax, don’t stand up.” It was a deep voice, she turned over to the corner where she heard the voice came from and saw Kingsley sitted.
She stared at the strange hospital walls and the hospital gown she was putting on.
” Am I in a hospital” she asked while sitting up.
” Yes” he replied.
” What happened?” She asked him.
” You don’t remember anything?” Kingsley responded.
” No I don’t remember what happened after my car went off the road” she said.
” After you left the supermarket, I knew David’s henchmen were following you, so I followed behind. They intercepted your vehicle and took the tape, leaving you unconscious. They were too much for me to handle so I waited for them to leave before bringing you to the hospital. Your husband will be here anytime soon, I need to leave.” Kingsley narrated before standing up to leave.
” What are the contents of the disc” she asked him.
” It’s a video that proofs David is still cheating on you with Lisa” he replied.
He walked out of the ward hurriedly, she tried to stand up and follow him to inquire more but was too weak.
Her mind was flooded with thoughts of what David and Lisa were doing.
The doctor walked in with David while she was still thinking, David walked over to her bed and gave her a hug.
” Dora, are you fine?” David asked.
She didn’t respond to his hug neither to his question.
” Mrs Dorathy, you are very lucky to have survived without any major complications, even your baby is fine and healthy.” The doctor spoke confidently.
Her total silence was freaking David out.
” Dorathy, dorathy, dora, Babe.” David called her expecting a response.
” Did I ever offend you?” She asked him.
” Offend me how, no you never did. Are you angry because I came late?, I was handling some unfinished business.” David replied.
” Why do you choose to pay me back with wickedness and cruelty.” She said with her eyes becoming teary.
” Wickedness and what, Babe I don’t understand what you are saying?” David asked looking dumb-struck.
The doctor tried to calm tension building up by suggesting ” she might be feeling the after effects of the bump she took to her head.”
” I know what am saying, ask this man here why is he sleeping with my best friend!!” She said curtly.
David Immediately developed cold feet, his heart rate increased.
*How did she find out cause I am with the disc or did he tell her himself* he thought.
” Why are you silent, you don’t have a lie already prepared. I don’t really care if you are sleeping with Lisa but why did you send those goons after me.” She said.
” Dora, I am not sleeping with Lisa and I did not send anyone after you. Who told you these lies about me?.” David replied.
” I almost lost my life because you want to cover up your sins. get out of my sight, you disgust!!” She yelled at him.
” Dorathy, please listen to me, I don’t know who told you these things but they are all lies. They want to destroy our marriage because of jealousy” he said softly.
” Get out!!” She screamed with tears running down her eyes slowly.
” Mr David just leave, you can come back when she is calm and it will be resolved.” The doctor ushered David out of the ward calmly.
