The way Joshua yelled Carly made David turn back.
“Why did you tell like that bro? Is Carly alright?” He asked worriedly.
Joshua was still calling Carly’s name on the phone but no reply, he looked at the phone and noticed that call was cut already.
He dialed her number and called her again.
‘Dear customer, the number you’re trying to call is powered off, please try again later’.
Joshua looked worried and so as David and Evelyn.
“I think she had an accident, I was calling her phone and I heard her screamed and next thing her phone got powered off” he said.
“If that’s so then what are you waiting for, let’s go to the dog sitting house to look for her!!” David yelled and rushed out.
“Mom stay here and wait, we’ll call you if there’s anything” Joshua said to Evelyn and without waiting for her reply, he left with David too.

DOG SITTING HOUSE.
With full speed, Joshua and David arrived.
“Carly are you-” the both of them stopped when they saw Carly standing outside, holding something with a confused look on her face.
They immediately rushed to her, David was the first to hug her before Joshua hugged her too.
“What’s going on?” Carly asked.
“We were worried about you, we thought you were caught up in an accident” David replied.
“Accident why?” Carly asked.
“Why did you scream?” Joshua frowned and Carly’s mouth formed an ‘O’
“It was my phone, I almost got hit by a car, I survived but my phone didn’t” she pressed her lips together and pointed her pieced phone on the floor.
“Then the person gave me a new phone as apology” she showed off the new iPhone she was holding with a smile.
Joshua narrowed his eyes.
“The person gave you a new phone? Who’s that?” He asked.
“A man, it’s not what you think, he looks like he’s old enough have me as his daughter so don’t get it wrong” she immediately cleared herself.
Joshua and David looked at themselves and released a sigh of relief.
“I thought something bad has happened, don’t ever scare us like this again” Joshua said.
Carly smiled and raised her three fingers up.
“Hmm, I promise” she said childishly which made her look so adorable that Joshua couldn’t help but ruffle her hair.
“Naughty girl, let’s go home” he said.
“Good night guys, I’ll go back to meet mom” David waved at them and left, Joshua wrapped his arms around Carly’s shoulder before leaving with her.

Some days past and the next day was going to be Joshua’s graduation. This morning has just been spent with Joshua, Carly and David shopping for their outfits.
“After this, we are going to the salon to get our hair done” Carly said excitedly as they came out of the boutique together.
“How come you’re more excited about my own graduation than me?” Joshua asked Carly with a smile.
“I’m overly excited because of you, the graduation is gonna be your day and I can’t wait to see how happy you’ll be” she said.
“I think you should worry about your own upcoming graduation later in the future” David said with a scoff and Carly sticked her tongue out to him.
Joshua just smiled and turned to look at them.
“How about we go get food before going to the hair salon?” He asked.
“I will love that, food here we come!!” David shouted and ran to the front. Carly ran after him while Joshua just shook his head and followed with his hands on his pocket.

LATER ★ HAIR SALON.
David was looking at his hair on the mirror and running on it.
“My hair is looking somewhat rough” he muttered.
“Yeah, it’ll need some oil” Joshua replied and turned to look at Carly. “What kind of style are you planning to do?” He asked her.
Carly looked at her hair in the mirror, she wanted to reply but her phone began ringing which made her pause.
This number… It’s the man that gave her the phone, he always chatted her up to see how she’s doing but this would be the first time he’ll be calling her.
“I’ll pick the call outside” she said and excused herself.
Joshua looked at David and David shrugged.
Carly picked the call when she went out.
“Hello Mr..
“I’ve told you to be calling me uncle, haven’t I?” he cut her off.
“Sorry, hello uncle, is everything alright, why did you call?” Carly immediately corrected herself.
“Please let’s meet this night, I want to introduce you to my family” he replied.
What he said made Carly frown, he wants to introduce her as his family? As what? His wife or what?
“Just trust me, you really need to know this, I’ll come to your dog sitting house to pick you up this evening” he said, his tone sounded like he wasn’t going to take any arguments or disagreements.
Carly wanted to argue but he already hung up.
“He wants to meet at evening? What am I going to tell Joshua and David?” She thought because she was finding the situation overly weird.
If Joshua gets to find out about this then he won’t let her leave, she doesn’t want to leave too but what if the man wants to say something important?

EVENING.
“I’ll see him out!” Carly said to Joshua as she held David who was about leaving by the forearm.
“Alright” Joshua nodded, he didn’t find anything suspicious in Carly’s behavior because he was overly excited about his graduation.
Carly and David stepped outside.
“See you tomorrow on the graduation day, make sure you look handsome” Carly smiled.
David winked.
“You bet your jingle bells I will” he said before climbing his speed bike and driving off.
Carly smile disappeared off, she had a scared look on her face when she looked back at her neighborhood before turning around and running to the dog sitting house.
The man was leaning on his car and waiting for her. This time around, he wasn’t putting on nose mask and he looked a little familiar but she just couldn’t point.
He smiled at her.
“Really glad that you made it, come in” he opened his car door for her.
Carly began thinking. It was already so foolish for her to come to see a stranger in the night without anyone knowing and now he was opening his car for her.
Carly bit her lips and slowly stepped in, she sat at the front and put her seatbelt.
“Don’t be scared little girl, you’ll be excited soon” he smiled before starting the car.

The car stopped inside a compound and Carly’s brows creased up as she stared at everywhere.
Wait this place looks familiar.
