It became to much that all Jewel was hearing was “bring blah blah cross multiply blah blah to the blah blah addition” She got annoyed that she didn’t know when she stood up from her seat and shouted “Just shut up” and everyone gasped
…………..
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean what I just said. It was a slip of tongue” Jewel stuttered cause of the unbearable stares from the people in the hall. Miss Daisy didn’t answer Jewel. She just walked to the board in front and wrote some equation. When Jewel saw the question that was written she could swear that even her ancestors won’t be able to solve it
“That’s your test. If you can’t solve it consider a carry over” Miss Daisy said as she handed the marker to Jewel.
A carry over??? There was no way she would be having a carry over. But what could she do. The question was one of a kind. Jewel thought as she walked to the board.
She was literarily shaking. Luke noticed her nervousness and asked
“You can’t solve it??”
But Jewel’s almost red eyes were enough answers for him.
“If you can’t do it then hand over my writting material and walk out of the class like nothing happened” Miss Daisy said.
Jewel who didn’t know what to do started moving to return the marker
“Don’t tell me you can’t solve it” Luke said but again Jewel didn’t reply him.
“Are you planning to have a carry over?” He asked and Jewel nodded her head negatively.
“Go to the board and I’ll tell you what to write” He said and Jewel moved like an obedient lamb that had just been rescued. Luke directed her and even though she didn’t understand what she was writting she did as told.
When she was done she faced the lecturer who had her mouth open. If not for the fact that their school was cleaniness itself, one could swear that up to fifteen flies might have entered Miss Daisy’s mouth. Jewel turned to face the students also and they all had their mouths agape.
Who would have thought that Jewel, the same clumsy girl, the late comer, the dull girl, the class distraction, Natasha’s prey, the one who got promoted on weak passes to solve something that even their school genius would solve in two hours, solved by Jewel in two minutes without the help of a calculator???
*****RISE COLMEGORATE*****
Glenda was at the back as her driver drove her to work. They were driving psst a park when she suddenly said “Stop the car”
The driver did as told and Glenda wine down the
screen so she could see clearly.
She saw a family playing cheerfully on the park. The sight broght back memories.
***FLASHBACK (five years ago)***
“Mom, Dad, I want an ice cream” fifteen year old Jewel shouted from the Icecream stand with a gummy smile as mom and dad rushed towards her.
“You’re fifteen yet you act like an eight year old kid” Glenda said.
“Dad, mom called me a kid” Jewel pouted her lips as her dad, Mr Rise bought the leecream.
“Aren’t you a kid” Glenda asked as the sat down on the grassy floor.
“I’m not” Jewel said as she hugged her father’s arm
“Because I’m my daddy’s baby” Jewel said and Glenda scoffed.
“Honey, tell her that I am your baby. Tell her how you called me your baby in front of the whole class when we were still in highschool. She needs to known that I was your first baby” Glenda said as she hugged her husband second hand.
“I know your his first baby” Jewel snapped and Glenda grinned with a triumphant smile that soon faded because of what Jewel said next.
“But I’m his number one baby. You’re his past baby, and I am the present and future” Jewel said while Mr Rise could only watch his babies arguing unnecessarily.
“You little…” Glenda said as she chased Jewel who ran away laughing loudly.
“Honey, I guess I’m not your baby anymore. Because I’m getting old, you no longer love me” Glenda said faking tears in front of Mr. Rise
“Enda, you are my baby and the owner of my heart. Don’t listen to Jewel” Mr. Rise said as he pecked Glenda on the forehead. “But you didn’t say that when Jewel was here” and Jewel appeared from no where and said “That’s because I’m his number one”.
****FLASHBACK ENDS****
A sad smile crept on Glenda’s lips. Oh how she missed those days. Those time she and Jewel would be arguing on who Mr. Rise loved more. At times she would ask who got married to Rise. Whether she wash the one or Jewel

Jewel’s words come rushing in her head.
Had she been too sad that she locked Jewel away from her? But her thoughts were interrupted when a call came in.
“To the company” she told her driver as she picked the call.
NO, JEWEL IS OKAY. SHE HAS EVERYTHING ONE COULD ASK FOR. SHE DOESN’T NEED ME TO COMPLETE IT
She thought as the closed her eyes.
***UNKNOWN HIDEOUT***
A man was operating on a computer. His hands were moving fast like the hacker that he was. Mole walked towards the man.
“Gator, have you found anything yet?” Mole called the man by his name.
“I already hacked the security footage but everything was wiped out. I think we’ve been played” Gator said
“I was given a week to find the package” Mole said.
“Whoever wiped the security footage doesn’t know what he or she has gotten into. Just check if you can find anything” Mole as he walked out.
***JEWEL’S HOME***
Jewel was searching something on the internet when a video call from Dina came in
📞DINA: HEY DONGHNUT HEAD
📞JEWEL: YOU DIDN’T COME
📞DINA: SOMEONE IS MISSING ME
📞JEWEL: WHY DIDN’T YOU COME
📞DINA: THE SKIES h@ťěS ME. IT HAD TO RAIN OVER HERE TODAY OF ALL DAYS. SO OUR FLIGHT WAS CANCELLED.
📞JEWEL: OKAY
📞DINA: ARE YOU ALRIGHT??
📞JEWEL: HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF I GAVE YOU SILENT TREATMENT
📞DINA. (laughs) WHY THE SUDDEN QUESTION
📞JEWEL: PLEASE JUST ANSWER
📞DINA: WELL I WOULD BE IN THE HOSPITAL CRYING FOR YOU TO WAKE COS I MIGHT HAVE BEATEN SILENCE OUT OF YOU.
📞JEWEL: OKAY
📞DINA: IS EVERYTHING AIRIGHT?
📞JEWEL: LET’S TALK WHEN YOU ARRIVE
With that she ended the call. Just immediately Luke appeared.
“Jewel, I’m sorry for everything that happened today. I shouldn’t have put the alarm your ear. I shouldn’t have disturbed you in class. Please forgive me. Your silence is ki||ing me slowly” Luke said.
“You’re already dead” Jewel said not looking at Luke. Soon she raised her head and said
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have treated you silence treatment” she said. Luke smiled and tried hugging her but he passed through ther.
“I forgot I am just air” He said with an akward laugh
“I see you smiling and I wonder if you aren’t sad about your death” Jewel said and failed to notice that the smile of Luke’s face had faded.
“I have been doing a research on ghost and noticed that most of them had a similar unfinished business” Jewel said and continued
“Thier unfinished business was how they died. Most of them were murdered. And it kept me thinking. Your sudden disappearance and appearance as a ghost, what if you also mudered?” Jewel asked but got no response from Luke
“How did you die?” she asked
Luke with a confused and lost expression said
“I DON’T KNOW”
