Lesley let out a sigh as she settled onto her bed, placing her backpack on the floor and removing her jacket. Her mind drifted back to the incident at school, and a small smirk played on her lips.
βNow that youβre gone, I have nothing to fear except Blueberry,β she mused, sitting up once again.
Curiosity sparked within her as she pondered Blueberry and Mu Yulβs relationship. Why had he kept silent when he knew she was nothing but a facade for Devyn? Was his calmness a result of her proximity to Devyn? Should she be happy about being with her? What would have happened if Devyn hadnβt attended the same school?
βIβm certain I wouldnβt have endured much longer in that school if my secret had been exposed. Thank you, Devyn, even though Iβve already hurt you,β Lesley whispered, settling back on her bed.
βNo more disturbances from him!β she exclaimed joyfully, flinging her legs into the air.
β β β
βDonβt give me that look, Valerie. Youβre leaving the band and that school,β Valerieβs mother reiterated. His father had passed away long ago.
βMom? I canβt do that. I canβt live without those people who have become my family,β Valerie replied, earning him a sharp slap on his right cheek.
βGo ahead and slap me all you want, but it wonβt change my mind,β He declared seriously, causing his mother to raise her hand once again, only to halt mid-air.
βYou were my music coach, teaching me both guitar and piano. You guided me in everything. So why now?β Valerie questioned, leaving his mother at a loss for words.
βIt was your dadβs dream for you to become a musician since he never had the chance himself,β she finally responded.
βAnd I should follow the same path?β Valerie asked, prompting his mother to fall into silence.
βIt was indeed Dadβs dream for me to pursue music, but even before he could consider such dreams for me, I had already decided to become a musician. I wanted to remain by her side until the end of my days. So please, Iβve come too far to hear this from you, Mom,β Valerie said, turning to leave.
βWhat if something happens to you? What if you lose your life while at that school?β his mother fretted, causing Valerie to face her with gentleness.
βDonβt worry too much, Mom. If I were to die as part of that group, I would rather be with Dad than with a mother who changed completely after his passing,β Valerie replied, making his way to his room.
βOh, God,β Dina, Valerieβs mother, clasped her forehead.
βAre you okay, Mom?β Dina looked up to see Josh, her second son, approaching her.
βJust let Valerie be. I warned you it was a bad idea,β Josh retorted, as Dina let out a heavy sigh, tightly folding her hands together.
β
Devyn made dinner once again as she anxiously awaited her motherβs return. She settled down next to Blueberry, who was fully engrossed in a TV series.
βYou really find the time for these series, donβt you?β Devyn asked, prompting Blueberry to turn and face her.
βWhatβs on your mind?β he inquired, sensing that she had something to say.
βWell, itβs nothing majorβ¦ just reconnecting with a friend after 13 years. From his explanation, I donβt see anything wrong. But a few days after the incident, my mom was humiliated by my dad, and we were both thrown out of the house,β she sighed sadly.
βSo?β Blueberry responded.
βSo? Is that all you can say?β she retorted, a hint of frustration in her voice.
βWhat do you expect without giving me the full details? How can I know what to say?β he asked, leaving Devyn shaking her head.
βYouβve become quite bold these days,β she remarked, rolling her eyes. The door to the living room swung open, and Cecilia entered, looking exhausted.
βMy darlings,β she said, seating herself between them while Blueberry adjusted to make room.
βYou look tired. Devyn and I made dinner. You should eat some and then rest,β Blueberry suggested, and Cecilia smiled.
βMy adorable son,β Cecilia beamed. βI got something for you,β she added, producing a box. Blueberry raised an eyebrow, wondering what it might contain.
He gently opened the box and discovered a phone inside.
βIs this what humans call a cell phone? Why was it in there?β he asked, and Cecilia smiled.
βWith the way you always say βhuman,β I wonder if youβre excluding yourself from being one. Anyway, this is your phone. Iβve already set everything up. Thereβs a SIM card, my number, Devynβs number, and Iβve even saved your number in it, in case you want to give it to a friend,β Cecilia explained, taking the phone and switching it on.
βDevyn will show you how to use it. But first, letβs eat. Iβm famished,β she smiled, getting up and taking Devyn and Blueberryβs hands as they made their way to the dining room.
During the meal, Devyn recounted her encounter with Kelvin, who happened to be Valerie and a member of MARVINS group.
βReally? Is that the same Kelvin you used to beg me to let you see when I told you to stay at home?β Cecilia chuckled, causing Devyn to furrow her brow.
βI thought you two would end up getting married, considering how close you were back then,β Cecilia laughed again, while Devyn dropped her chopsticks with a loud clatter.
βWhat? Iβm not making it up. You used to talk about him all the time,β Cecilia teased.
βMom,β Devyn called out.
βNow Iβm curious. Your first love and your current crush are in the same group. Who will you choose? I bet itβs Kelvin because you liked him so much when he had no one. As for Maikel, I think youβre just a fan, like every other girl who crushes on idols,β Cecilia remarked, which seemed to incite Devynβs anger.
βI liked Kelvin, but I like Maikel now!β she shouted, causing Blueberry, who was eating, to flinch at the sudden outburst.
βThat was uncalled for,β Cecilia muttered as she watched her daughter storm off to her room. Cecilia couldnβt help but burst into laughter. Blueberry glanced at her.
βWhom do you think sheβll choose, Berry?β Cecilia asked.
βIβm not sure who sheβll choose since I donβt know what the boys are thinking,β Blueberry replied, contemplating the situation.
βOh, right,β Cecilia nodded, understanding his uncertainty.
β β β
βMom, Dadβ¦ You both are well aware that I canβt comply with your request, right?β Nash spoke, turning to face his father.
βI canβt be like Anita, whom you manipulate into doing only what you wantβ¦ So please, just continue looking away like you always have,β Nash replied.
βWoman, do you see your son? Heβs talking back to me!β Mr. Philip erupted in anger. Nash remained unmoved, as he had never held any fondness for his father. His father had forced his eldest sister into doing things she never desired, yet she silently wept without uttering a word.
Nash yearned to live his own life, not the prearranged one his father had in mind. Consequently, he rarely returned home.
βI believe my presence is the last thing youβd want to see if I stay here,β Nash smirked, accompanied by a wink.
βDid your son just wink at me?β
βDad, you should calm down, okay? Ah, I recall you disowned me ever since I enrolled at Spark College. But you should know this: I disowned you long before embarking on this journey, and I canβt turn back just because you think Iβll be safe if I do,β Nash stated, then turned to face his mother.
βMy safety doesnβt lie within this house, but among the people I reside with at school. I hope you understand, Mom,β Nash said, and his mother let out a sigh.
He left the sitting room and came face to face with Anita, who had been eavesdropping on their conversation. She gave her younger brother a thumbs up. He chuckled softly and walked towards her.
βI missed youβ¦ only you,β he expressed, and Anita embraced him.
βDonβt worry about me. I may still appear gentle, but the moment I explode, Dad will feel like heβs been hit by a truck,β Anita said, and Nash giggled.
βYouβre the sister Iβve always wanted to see, not some puppet,β Nash said, and Anitaβs once-smiling face transformed.
βSorryβ¦β he laughed awkwardly before making his way to the door. He opened it and faced Anita once again. βBut itβs true, though,β he added, then hurried into his room and locked the door.
βThat little, adorable kiddo of mine,β she smiled and walked into her own room.
β
Elvira wore a dangerous smirk as Harriet entered her room, but she quickly replaced it with a smile.
βYouβve been moody. I was concerned, so I came to find out what went wrong,β Harriet said, raising an inquisitive eyebrow as Elvira shook her head.
βIβm fine,β Elvira replied dismissively, causing Harriet to nod and leave the room without uttering another word.
βYou shouldnβt bother yourself about her. Sheβs my sister, and I know her best. She wonβt open up until something terrible befalls her,β Elvire said as soon as she caught sight of Harriet.
βI wonder how your parents cope with you two,β Harriet sighed as she took a seat.
βTomorrow is Mr. Robinsonβs burial. We need to go, as Miss Rachel has instructed,β Elvire brought up again, prompting a nod of acknowledgement from Harriet.
βWhy am I so concerned about Elvira? Gosh, this is ki||ing me,β Harriet muttered, her gaze fixed on Elviraβs doorstep.
βI hope sheβs not planning another havoc,β Harriet silently pondered.
β
βIβve told you to stay away from me. Just why are you after me?β Mirabel questioned with a note of frustration.
βThatβs because I love you, Mira,β Jake professed.
Mirabel let out a weary sigh.
βLove? How can you be so sure itβs love and not merely a desire for my body?β She retorted, crossing her arms beneath her ΖΓΈ0Ιs.
βI donβt know, but my heart flutters with every single thing you do. Your face occupies every corner of my mind. I find myself constantly thinking about you, and your smile brings boundless joy to my life,β Jake expressed, his words laced with sincerity.
βI genuinely love you, Mirabel,β He added earnestly.
βLame,β Blueberry shook his head in disbelief, swiftly seizing the remote and turning off the movie he had been watching.
βWhy are all human movies centered around love? Tch,β he scoffed, making his way to the room to sleep, being the only one still awake.
β
NEXT DAY
Mu Yul stood before Yeomra, who wore an expression of anger. Blueberryβs little performance in her presence had infuriated her.
βWhy are you here?β she asked sharply, and Mu Yul bowed respectfully.
βForgive me for disturbing you, but I too have been anxious. What could have been in the box Blueberry saw the other day?β He inquired. Yeomraβs face flushed with anger.
βWhat?β she retorted, her voice filled with fury. Mu Yul bowed his head meekly, feeling a surge of fear as he took in a deep breath.
βI will leave immediately,β he said, then vanished from her sight.
βA day will come when you will learn whatβs in the box, but I hope that by then, you wonβt h@Ε₯Δ me,β Yeomra muttered to herself.

All the students gathered for the burial. Mr. Robinson was laid to rest, and his wife, who had been on a business trip, couldnβt help but weep uncontrollably.
The students felt great pity for her and offered words of consolation.
The other teachers remained behind, except for Miss Rachel, who took the rest of the students to school. MARVINS were not among them.
Miss Rachel grew increasingly worried about what might have happened to the boys, so she decided to visit their apartment.
She rang the doorbell, and it was Alistair who answered the door. Miss Rachelβs face brightened upon seeing him. She hoped that his presence meant some authority and influence due to him being the mayorβs son. However, her smile faded when she entered the house and saw them with their bags.
βWhatβs happening? Donβt tell meβ¦β she exclaimed in disbelief.
βOh, this? Iβll be back within two days,β Nash replied with a smile.
βI want to stay, but I canβt live alone without them, so Iβll go home to meet Grandma,β Ian explained.
βMe too, staying home is so boring because Mom and Dad are always on business trips, and Iβm their only child. Can you imagine, Miss Rachel? Boredom will definitely ki|| me, right?β Sweetheart chimed in, turning to Maikel.
βIβll be back. Dad is just worried, but he canβt really stop my dream because seeing me happy is what matters to them,β Maikel stated.
βI envy you,β both Nash and Valerie said simultaneously, prompting Maikel to face them both.
βDonβt ask me, because my old man is the blockage in my @$$h0le, refusing to let the $h|t in my belly be emptied,β Nash joked and Ian burst into laughter.
βI might not even come back,β Alistair announced, breaking his own news.
β What?β The boys all exclaimed in shock.
βThe mayor is crazy, I know rightβ Alistair muttered. βI even got hit by my elder brother for speaking up. That Γ sshair!!.β
βWhat will happen next?β Rema asked him.
βUmβ¦ Iβll run away. Iβm never gonna leave this country,β Alistair stated. Miss Rachel was left speechless and unsure of what to say.
βWhy donβt I try to talk to your parents? They need to see the other side of you guys, at least,β Miss Rachel suggested, reaching for her phone.
βItβs needless. Mom and Dad always watch me perform,β Rema replied.
βI canβt believe this is happening,β Sweetheart began crying. Was he the only one among his brothers whose parents allowed him to do as he wished?
βHey, donβt worry sweetie. Iβll come see you when I have the chance,β Nash reassured Sweetheart, holding him by the shoulder and hugging him tightly.
βI donβt want us to leave,β Sweetheart wept. Soon after, the boys were all in each otherβs arms, sobbing. Miss Rachel felt a deep sadness wash over her.
βLetβs go address the students first. We donβt want anyone to think youβve all been kidnapped,β She said, and the boys nodded, gently disengaging from the hug.
They dropped their luggages and headed towards the door when their phones started making strange sounds. They all checked their notifications and saw a video of Devynβs face, with a burn mark on it.
βSHEβS BEEN LIVING ON MAKE-UPβ was the caption on the blog.
Valerie was the first to rush out, while the rest of the boys exchanged glances. Nevertheless, they shrugged and headed out of their apartment.
Devyn was just arriving at school when she noticed students laughing and staring at their phones. Since last night, after what her mom had said, she had angrily switched off her phone.
βWhy is everyone looking at me?β she wondered aloud.
π₯ Hey, dollβ¦
π₯ I thought she was truly beautiful, but who could have thought sheβs artificial?β
π₯ I doubted her beauty from the start.
A confused frown wrinkled Devynβs forehead as she stared at the students. She stood there, trying to understand what exactly was happening, until Lesley called out to her. Devyn turned in the direction of her name and saw Lesley running towards her.
βWhy? Why were you crying, and who did this?β Lesley showed her the video, and Devynβs eyes widened. Tears began welling up in her eyes.
βI knew something was off about her,β Honesty clicked her tongue, as she stared at Devyn. Blueberry simply stood and stared, showing no intention of helping her.
βHey,β Mu Yul said beside him.
βWhy is everyone gathering here, and why is Devyn at the center? She looks like sheβs about to tear up. Will you just let her be?β Mu Yul asked, concerned.
βDonβt you want to escort a soul today?β Blueberry retorted, still staring at the students. Just then, MARVINS arrived at the scene.
βWhen I told Zora I noticed something on your face that night, I wasnβt wrong, anyway,β Elvira shook her head with fake pity.
βWhatβs she doing?β Harriet asked, looking at Elvira, who stood face to face with Devyn.
βNo idea,β Elvire and Zora replied simultaneously.
Elvira leaned closer to Devynβs ear and chuckled softly.
βHave you ever experienced the feeling of humiliation? Or perhaps youβd rather deny it altogether? Frankly, I had no intention of sharing that video, but what? You allowed Valerie embrace you. And not just a regular embrace, mind you, but from behind. Do you grasp the significance of that?β she chuckled sardonically.
βIt clearly indicates his affection for you. However, letβs see how he reacts after witnessing this,β Elvira smirked, preparing to depart, but before she could make her escape, Lesley grabbed hold of her and swiftly turned her around. Without hesitation, Lesleyβs hand collided with Elviraβs cheek in a resounding slap.
βOh myβ¦,β Zoraβs eyes widened in astonishment.
βDo you have a death wish?β The boys infatuated with Elvira shouted angrily, ready to attack, but mysteriously, their feet were glued to the floor.
They couldnβt move no matter how they tried.
Elvira let out a brief, mocking laugh and confidently approached Lesley, delivering a slap to her as well. Lesley huffed and ruffled her hair, trying to maintain her composure.
βIf you think Iβm lying, then let her remove the makeup sheβs wearing. Ah! I even have a handkerchief if she doesnβt have one,β Elvira smirked, while Devynβs mind drifted away, lost in her own thoughts.
She couldnβt help but think about Valerieβs freckles being revealed, allowing her to imagine the pain that Valerie had gone through.
π₯ Yeah, let her clean up the makeup!β the students screamed, eagerly anticipating what would be uncovered.
βBoring,β Blueberry muttered, taking Mu Yulβs hand and leading him towards where MARVINS were.
βHey, Nash, I can see youβre fine,β Blueberry said, catching the attention of the boys.
βI thought you were related to her? Why are you here instead of helping her out?β Maikel asked.
βWho are you?β Blueberry asked.
βHeβs Maikel,β Sweetheart replied.
βAh, her crush,β Blueberry shook his head before turning his attention back to Sweetheart.
βWhoβs Valerie? Or is it Ken? β Blueberry asked, and Sweetheart pointed at Valerie.
βYouβre her first crush. Not bad. I must say she has good taste. But too bad my beauty is blinding,β He vaunted, before shifting his focus back to Nash.
βYou all will come to understand why not even a single soul can go near those three because I foresee something more interesting than the movie I watched yesterday,β Blueberry said, causing the boys to exchange confused glances.
βAnyway, this is the friend I talked about, and I really want to have that ice cream I had at your home the other time. If you do this, I might reconsider letting your parents make you stay, and Iβll also try my best to protect the Big Dipper, even though I belong to only one person,β He said, his words laced with intrigue. The boys exchanged more confused glances.
βHow did you know about their parentsβ issue?β Miss Rachel asked, puzzled by Blueberryβs knowledge.
βOh, Miss Rachel, youβre here? Thatβs because Iβmβ¦β He paused for a moment.
βThatβs because Iβm Blueberry,β he added, leaving everyone in astonishment, before turning to leave. Sweetheart, wanting to believe his words, spoke up.
βIβll give you triple the amount of yoghurt, okay? I donβt want to leave their sight either. Will you do that? If yes, then I wonβt mind being your younger brother too,β Sweetheart said, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and excitement. Blueberry giggled in response.
βOkay, letβs watch the drama unfolding in front of us. Something interesting is about to happen,β he said, turning his attention back to Devyn. The room seemed frozen in time, as if nothing had changed since Blueberry went to meet the MARVINS.
βAfter the show, youβll stay at school, but my yoβ¦β He trailed off, trying to remember the name.
β Yoghurt,β Sweetheart completed.
βYeah, my yoghurt shouldnβt be delayed,β He said, refocusing his attention on Devyn.
Elvira approached Devyn, ready to clean her makeup, but Devyn kept shifting back, trying to resist. Lesley folded her hands, unable to intervene due to the studentsβ eagerness to witness the revealed scars.
Elviraβs smirk grew even more sinister as she forcefully pulled Devyn by the hand, gripping her face tightly. Unable to resist, Devyn shrugged helplessly as tears streamed down her face, making it even easier for Elvira to manipulate her.
βI know she has those scars, so please, I need to help her, but I canβt seem to leave my spot,β Valerie pleaded, his concern evident in his voice.
βOh, please calm down, first crush, and just watch,β Blueberry said, his tone filled with a mix of assurance and anticipation.
Elvira grabbed Devyn by the hair, yanking her head back as her hands found Devynβs cheek, smudging away the makeup that concealed a burnt mark.
βSheβs a lioness that will bite soon,β Blueberry chuckled. Elviraβs eyes widened as she realized there was no trace of makeup left on Devynβs face.
Devyn noticed Elviraβs reaction and her hand instinctively went to her cheek, gently touching it. To her surprise, there was no roughness, no reminder of the past.
Her voice, once her greatest insecurity after confessing to Maikel that she couldnβt sing, was no longer a big issue. Her greatest fear had been laid bare, and now nothing could make her feel bad anymore.
She exhaled deeply and took the handkerchief from Elvira, wiping away all the makeup.
Beneath that plain face, the beauty of a goddess lay dormant.
βI was crazy as a kid; you can ask Kelvin, heβll give you all the details,β Devyn muttered, while Elvira retreated.
βA hairband, please,β Devyn turned to Lesley, who willingly unraveled her hair to give Devyn her own. Devyn collected it and gathered her hair into a ponytail.
She clenched her fist, and before anyone could react, a punch landed on Elviraβs face, sending her crashing to the ground. But Devyn wasnβt finished. She approached Elvira, pulling her back up.
βWe should do something. She might ki|| Elvira at this rate,β Zora expressed her concern.
βJust as I predicted. Sheβll never change until something terrible happens to her,β Elvire remarked, devoid of any pity for her sister, before walking away. Harriet clenched her fists tightly, feeling a wave of embarrassment, and left the scene too.
βI had chosen to be gentle to avoid this day, but that gentle version of me died a few seconds ago. I will definitely repay you in full,β Devyn declared, landing another punch on Elvira.
βOhh!β Blueberry chuckled. He seemed to be the one enjoying the show the most, while MARVINS watched in utter shock.
