Chapter fifty-nine
It’s been two days already since Desmond traveled on his business trip, and everything was going well between the two of them, they call and text each other almost every second.
Jasmine was working in her office when someone knocked on the door and she asked the person to come in, the secretary entered with a rectangular box.
“This comes for you, ma” ” she said and placed the box on the table.
“Who brought that?”.
“A delivery man and he said an anonymous person asked to deliver it to you”.
“Ok, thanks”.She said and the secretary left for her office.”I wonder what’s inside”.She opened the box and was amazed to see filled with chocolate and a notepad on it, she read the note
📝” WHENEVER YOU MISS ME, TAKE ONE OF THIS CHOCOLATE, IF YOU ARE MISSING ME RIGHT NOW, YOU CAN TAKE ONE…FROM DESMOND♥️”.
“You will never seem to amaze me, one bite isn’t enough to quench how much I miss you right now”.She said and continued to take a bite of the chocolate. Some minutes later, her cell phone rang, and she smiled immediately when she saw the caller ID. ,📞”Do you suddenly miss right now? You called me a few minutes ago and now you are calling me”.
📞”I miss you that’s why I am calling”. Desmond said from the other end of the phone. “What about you, don’t you miss me?”.
📞”I was until someone sent me a box of chocolates”.She said.
📞”Chocolate?”.
📞”Yes, I know you delivered it to me in my office and you said to take a bite whenever I miss you”.
📞”I didn’t send you chocolate or ask someone to deliver it to you”.He said and Jasmine was surprised.
📞”Really? But it has your name on it and your signature”.
📞”I didn’t send you any chocolate, that wasn’t me, someone used my name, did you eat from it?”.
📞”Yes, I have taken–“She paused as she felt a bite on her stomach.
📞”Jasmine, are you there?”.
📞”I just feel a bite on my stomach”.She said and then groaned in pain.
📞”Oh my gosh!”. Desmond panicked on the phone.
📞”Desmond help! I can’t bear the pain”.She screamed and the phone fell off her hand. her secretary rushed in due to her scream.
“Ma, are you ok?”.She asked seeing her groaning in pain.
“Take me–“.She fell on the floor holding her stomach.
“Ma!”.She rushed to her.”What happened to you?”.She panicked and then saw her phone ringing and she picked it up quickly.📞” Hello sir”.
📞”What is going on, put Jasmine on the phone”. Desmond said.
📞”Sir, I don’t know what is going on with her, she is in serious pain”.She said.
📞”Then get help”.He screams at her on the phone.
The secretary rushed and phoned the medical department and not too long after, two of the security rushed in and carried Jasmine out who had already passed Everyone was in panicked as Jasmine was taken away by the ambulance.
“What could have happened to her?”.1st staff said tensely.
“please God, don’t let anything happen to her”2nd staff said.
★HOSPITAL★
Jasmine was taken to the emergency room, in less than an hour everyone was present in the hospital including Desmond’s family except for Daisy.
“What do they want from my daughter? What has she done to deserve this pain”.Mrs.Lucia sobs and Mrs.Ava consoled her.
“Don’t worry, nothing will happen to her”.She said and not long after, the doctor came out and they rushed to him.
“How is my daughter?”.Mr. James asked curiously.
“Is my granddaughter ok?”. Grandma Alma asked.
“Please tell us, doctor”.Blake said.
“Everyone calm down”.Doc.Ben said.
“Is she ok?”.Mr.George asked.
“She is out of danger now, she was lucky enough to be brought here early”.He said.
“What happened to her?”.Mrs.Lucia asked.
“We detect she was poisoned”.He said and everyone was shocked.
“Poison?”. Jameson asked confusedly.
“How doctor? Who did this to my daughter?”.Mrs.Lucia asked confusedly.
“Explain to us, doctor”.Mr.James said.
“We found some chocolate particles in her system and it was as a result of that, but not to worry, she is fine now”.He said and they sighed in relief.
“Can we see her now?”.Blake asked.
“Yes, but she is still unconscious, she will be up in a few hours”.
“Ok, doctor, thank you very much”.Mr.George said and they left for Jasmine’s ward to see her.

Some hours later, Jasmine opened her weakly, she looked around and saw everywhere was blurred and there was someone beside her.
“Where am I?”.She asked weakly and Desmond turned to her.
“Jasmine, you are awake?”.He said and leaned closer and caressed her face.”I was scared to death”.He said sadly.
“Desmond?”.
“I am here, gosh!”.He sniffs as tears fill his eyes.
“Am fine”.She said weakly and wiped off his tears with her thumb.
“I am relieved that you are awake, don’t ever think of leaving me, I don’t think I can live if anything happens to you”.He caresses her face and then claims her lips and deepens the kiss passionately. Slowly he pulls away to look at her eyes. “Don’t ever scare me like this again, I will die if anything happens to you, I love you Jasmine, I love you so much”.
“I love you too, am sorry I got you worried”.
“Am happy you are ok now”. He claims her lips softly and they got interrupted from behind.
“What the heck is going on here?”.Daisy interrupted from behind and they turned to her. She walked in on them when they were kissing and confessing their love to each other, she didn’t know if her eyes were deceiving or not.
She stopped by the hospital after the maids told her where her parents were and why they were at the hospital. She got angry about why they cared so much about Jasmine more than their own child. She took her bag drove to the hospital and asked the receptionist for Jasmine’s room number, she was directed to the ward and she was shocked to see Jasmine and Desmond in a romantic moment. She continues giving them a hard look waiting for an explanation, just then everyone enters the room.
“Daisy, you are here”.Mrs.Ava said.
“Finally, you are awake”.Mrs.Lucia said as she moved to Jasmine.
“Are you feeling better?”.Mr. James asked and Jasmine nodded.
“That’s good to know”.Mr. George said.
“What happened? You look angry”.Blake asked seeing Daisy’s mood.
“You two haven’t answered my question”.Daisy said talking to Jasmine and Desmond.
“What is going on?”. Grandma Alma asked and everyone was confused about what was going on.
“I just caught them kissing and professing love to each other”.Daisy blurted and everyone was surprised except for Blake and Jameson.
