Chapter fifty-seven
Jasmine was brought into a dark room, she was laying consciously on the floor, and after a while, she began to regain consciousness, she groaned in pain and managed to sit upright staring confusedly at the room.
“Where am I?”.She suddenly recollects what happened and fear overwhelmed her.”Oh, no”.
“You are awake?”.A deep voice interrupted her.
“Who are you? Show yourself”.She said and a well-built man came out of the dark wearing a face Mask. “Who are you?”.
“It been such a long time Jasmine”.He said and a smile curved his lips.
“Who are you and what do you want from me?”.
“You are still the stubborn type”.He Bends towards her and tries to touch her face, but Jasmine pushes back. “You’ve grown so beautiful and I love what I am seeing”.He smirk.
“What do you want?”.
“You”.He grabs her face and Jasmine struggles. “You still owe me and I won’t let this opportunity slide away”.
“Let me go, you bàstãrd!”.She struggled and spate on his face.
“Acting stubborn right”.He smirk. “You think someone will come for your rescue, not even Desmond will, I will have you first before he does”.He pushed her to the ground and tried to reap off her clothes, Jasmine screamed struggling hard with him.
“Let me go!”.She gave him a hard kick and he fell groaning in pain.”Bãstãrd!”.She stood up quickly and ran out
“You jërk, come back here!”.He said still groaning in pain.
Meanwhile, Desmond was driving along the road after he tracked down the van that took Jasmine and it was leading him in the direction.
“Please be safe Jasmine”.He panicked as he increased the speed of his car.
Jasmine managed to sneak out of the room and looked for a way out, the man ordered his boys to look for her after they found out what she did to him. She was wandering around the building when the guys saw her.
“There she is!”.One of the guys yelled out and she picked to her heels, they chased after her. “Stop right there!”.
They continue to chase after her and she finds her way out of the building, she sees they are coming closer, and she increases her speed even when she was getting weaker. Desmond was closer to the location, suddenly he made a quick stop when he saw Jasmine run to the road looking exhausted.
“Jasmine?”.He called surprisedly and rushed out of the car. “Jasmine!”.He called and Jasmine raised her face in his direction.
“Desmond”.She ran to him Desmond held her tight into his arms. “You are here!”.She sobs.
“Thank goodness you are ok”.He caressed her hair and then he saw two guys come out. They pulled away from each other and asked Jasmine to move behind her which she did.
“Give the girl to us”.1st guy yelled.
“You want her, come and get her”.He rolled up her sleeve and was ready to fight.
“Be careful”.She said
“Go stay in the car”.He said
and she rushed to sit in the car watching.
The guys rushed to attack him, but he fought them so hard that they couldn’t take it anymore and ran off. Jasmine ran out and hugged him behind sobbing, Desmond felt her hand around him.
Some moments later, they were driving along the bridge. Desmond was staring at Jasmine who was calm and tears kept crawling down from her as she remembered what happened.
“Please stop the car”.She said trying to catch her breath and Desmond made a stop. She rushed out and stood by the bridge trying to calm her nerves, Desmond rushed to her.
“Try to breathe”.He said patting her back. “Everything is fine now, you don’t need to worry about anything”.He pulled her into a warm hug and patted her hair
“If you hadn’t come, I don’t know what would have happened”.She sniffs and they pull away from each other.
“I will always find you whenever you are in trouble”.He caresses her face and their eyes interlock.
“Thank you for always being there”.She said
“And I will never leave”.He smiled and looked down at her lips, His other hand moved up to her face and traced the outline of her lips with his fingers and She shivered. He waited and pulled her against him and kissed her. Their lips clung together softly and then pulled back to stare at each other.”I love you, Jasmine, I have always loved you and I will always love you”.He said sincerely and Jasmine smiled lovely at him.
“I love you too, Desmond”.She said and they rested their heads together smiling.
“I love you more”.He cupped her face and claimed back her lips.
As their lips met, a tingling sensation ran through her body. She felt his hands gently cup her face as he deepened the kiss, his lips moving against hers with a gentle urgency. In that moment, nothing else mattered – no worries or fears, no past or future. There was only the heat of the moment, the electricity between them, and the pure, unbridled passion of their kiss. It was a moment they would remember forever, a moment that would stay with them long after the kiss had ended. She sighed against his lips and murmured his name, and she could feel his smile. Her hands moved into his hair, and he kissed her harder. His hand cupped her cheek, and the gentle touch on her skin as she felt the heat of his mouth had her nerve endings on fire.
“Get a room you two!”.A driver interrupted them jokingly and drove off. They broke out from the kiss and giggled.
“I think we should be heading back home, our family would be worried about us”. Jasmine said and Desmond sighed and encircled his arms around her waist.
“I wish it never ended”. He said as they rest their heads together. “I don’t want this moment between us to end”.
“Me too, but we have to go, is getting pretty late”.She said.
“Ok, so, are we officially together now?”.
“You still have to ask me out”.She said.
“Alright then, it’s you and I this weekend, get prepared”.
“Well, let’s see about that”.She said and they smiled.
“And I can’t wait”.He kissed her forehead. “Let’s go”.They entered the car and drove off.
An hour later, Desmond drove her home, they waved at each other before she went inside and Desmond drove off. Jasmine was smiling all to herself and she didn’t even know her family was seated in the living room waiting for her, she flinched when she suddenly noticed their presence.
“Gosh! You guys scared me, why are you guys up by this time?”.She asked.
“And why are you coming home by this late hour of the night?”.Mrs.Lucia asked.
“About that, something came up”.She said.
“What could that be? you left us all worried and your phone wasn’t connecting”.Mr.james said.
“Yes, I misplaced the phone before,but I found it, am sorry I kept you all worried”.She said.
“I told you all you shouldn’t worry about her that she will come back home”. Grandma Alma said.
“Where is your car, I noticed Desmond was the one that drop you off”.Mrs.Lucia asked.
“You two were together all day?”. Jameson asked.
“We just…..can we talk about this some other time, right now I am very tired and I need to rest”.She said feigning yawness
“Will you also tell us why you were smiling all to yourself?”. Jameson asked smiling knowingly at her.
“Nosey”.She said and walk away.
“Come on everyone, let’s go back to bed”. Grandma Alma said and they stood up and left for their rooms.
