Chapter fifty-Two
Years Later Jasmine rushed out from her room dressed up to leave for work, she got a job in an Advertisement company where she was made the manager with a high-paying income. Her mother continued her cafe business and it was the best in the town, a lot of people patronized her including Mrs.Ava and her husband who is her biggest customer, everything was going with them as they moved into a conducive home. Mr.James became the CEO of his company, he owns a cement Company with a lot of people working for him, sometimes during the weekend, Jasmine and her little brother will go to their mother’s cafe to help out with the customer. Jameson was enrolled in a private school and he was as intelligent as Jasmine and he always came first in everything he did. The whole family was living lively and blessed beyond their imagination.
“Jameson”. Jasmine called from the living room waiting to take her little brother to school. “Hurry up, am gonna be late for work”.
“Am coming”.He said rushing down the stairs with his mother behind him helping him with his lunch box. “Sorry for keeping you waiting”.
“I need to hurry to the office, I have an urgent meeting to attend to”.
“Alright Jameson, be good and don’t make trouble in school”.Mrs.Lucia advises.
“I will, Mom”.
“Alright, take care, my boy”.She kissed his forehead.
“Bye”.
“Aren’t you going to give your grandmother a goodbye kiss?”. Grandma Alma replied as she arrived at the living room with her automatic chair.
“Sorry Grandma”.He said and rushed to hug her.
“That’s my boy”.She caressed his head and they pulled away from each other. “See you soon”.
“Sure”.
“Shall we?”. Jasmine said.
“Alright, see you two later, and be careful”.Mrs.Ava said as they waved at her and dashed out of the room.
“Am so happy to see this day”. Grandma Alma said smiling.
“Yes, Mom, look how our lives have turned out to be good and I am happy for these lovely kids that the heavens have given me”.Mrs.Lucia said smiling.

Jasmine arrives at her office with her secretary standing in front of her holding her schedule list.
“Any schedule for today?”. Jasmine asked.
“Yes, ma, you will be having meetings with some of the directors by 4 pm and also, you traveling in the next thirty minutes for a meeting”. She said.
“Right now?”.
“Yes, ma, your flight is ready and the driver is waiting to take you to the airport”.
“Ok, just give me a minute”.She said typing on her laptop, after a while she closed it and stood up with her bag. “Let’s go”.She said and they left the office.

Mr.George drove into the compound with his children who just arrived from the state, Mrs.Ava couldn’t hide her joy when she saw her children looking good and healthy, they went inside while the maids helped them with their bags.
Later at the dining table, their laughter fills the room.
“Am so happy you guys are back”.Mrs.Ava said.
“Yes, Mom, I miss home”. Blake said although he left to join his siblings after two years of graduation.
“Gosh, is so good to be back home”.Daisy said.
“I know right”.Mr.George said and they chuckled.
“So, Mom, How is Jasmine and her family?”. Blake asked and Desmond raised his face to them.
“Well, they are fine”.She replied.
“Oh, how I miss her so much, I can’t wait to see her and little brother”.He said.
“Sure”.Mr.George said and
Desmond smiled secretly to himself.
“I was mainly to ask, where are Nanny and the old maids, the ones I am seeing are new to me”. Blake asked.
“Well, Nanny moved in with her daughter some years back and for the maids, they resigned to continue with their lives and also take care of their families, some of them are married now”.Mrs.Ava said
“How is Nanny? Did you hear from her?”. Desmond asked.
“Yes, is doing well with her daughter”.
“That’s good to know”.Blake said and they continued eating.
Some hours later, Desmond was on his balcony staring out at the stars with the thought of Jasmine.
“Is been so long Jasmine, I hope you don’t hæte me when we come across each other?”.He sighed. “I hope you have been doing well? I can’t wait to see you again”.He said and continued staring out at the stars.
Meanwhile, Jasmine was in her room staring out at the stars with the same thought of Desmond in her mind.
“It has been seven years since you left without saying goodbye, I tried to hæte you, but I couldn’t and I don’t know why”.She sighed and felt the necklace on her neck.”I have tried to take this necklace off my neck, but I couldn’t, seeing it each day reminds me of you, I promise to punch you so hard when I see you…But have you been doing well? I hope you are fine wherever you are”.She sighed and continued caressing the necklace on her neck.

Days later, Jasmine and her family were eating at the dining table.
“I have something to say”.Mrs.Lucia said as she continued. “Mrs.Ava and her family will be having dinner with us this weekend”.
“Really, Mom?”. Jasmine asked excitedly.
“Yes, but not only her with her husband but her children too”.Mr.James said and Jasmine’s face turned surprised.
“Are children are back?”. Grandma Alma asked.
“Yes, Mom, they came back two days ago, Mrs.Ava called to inform us”.Mrs.Lucia said.
“That’s nice, I can’t wait to meet them”.She said.
“I won’t be available for dinner this weekend”. Jasmine said and they turned to her surprisedly.
“Why dear?”.Mrs.Lucia asked.
“I have an important client coming this weekend and I will be working late”.
“But you never work on weekends”. Jameson said.
“Well, I do now”.
“Can’t it be postponed?”. Grandma Alma asked.
“No”.
“But you are going to miss the chance of seeing Desmond and his siblings, you know is such a long time”.Mrs.Lucia said.
“I don’t care, I can’t miss an important meeting because of someone who left without saying goodbye”.She said angrily.
“What are you talking about? Who left without saying goodbye? Because I know, Blake did”.Mr.James said and Jasmine was quiet.
“Was it Desmond?”.Mrs.Lucia asked.
“Don’t even mention that name”.She snapped.
“Who is Desmond?”.Blake asked.
“He is no one”. Jasmine replied
“Mom, is this Desmond of a guy her boyfriend?”.He asked and Jasmine snapped.
“Hell no! I told you is nobody”.
“I guess he must be handsome too”.
“No, he is not, he is as ugly as a monkey”. Jasmine said.
“That’s not true, don’t listen to your sister, Desmond is a handsome and nice guy, you will get to meet him this weekend”.Mrs.Lucia said and they continued eating with Jasmine frowning her face.
Meanwhile, Desmond and his family were having dinner and his mother told them about the dinner this weekend at Jasmine’s place.
“Really Mom?”.Blake asked excitedly.
“Yes dear, they invited us”.She said and Daisy frowned while Desmond smiled.
“Why did you accept to have dinner with them?”.Daisy asked.
“What’s wrong with that?”.Mr.George asked.
“Everything Dad, the environment is not conducive enough, so, why go there”.She said.
“If you are worried about that, there is no need because they moved out of that area a long time ago and they live in a healthy and conducive place”.Mrs.Ava said smiling.
“If you are not going, you can as well stay back, you are not needed anyway”.Blake said and Dasiy stared hard at him.
“You don’t have to be like that, you will like it once you see it”.Mr George said.
“You needed to see how excited they were when told them you guys are back from the state “.Mrs Ava said.
“They are right, they were once your parents, so, it will be good if you come for dinner”. Desmond said.
“Fine!”.She grumbles and they continue eating not.
