Chapter Forty-two
The teacher continues to address them and asks each of the guys to call who their partner is. Each of them was calling who their partner was, it got to Jake’s turn.
“Mine says here, Daisy”.He said and Daisy frowned.
She wanted Desmond to be her partner and at the same time, she was scared Jasmine’s name shouldn’t be picked by her brother, because everyone has been calling their partner’s name, and Jasmine’s name wasn’t mentioned.
“Alright, Desmond, let’s hear who your partner is”.The teacher said and he stood up.
“Um, mine said here, clumsy Jasmine”.He teased and the whole class burst out in laughter and Jasmine frowned at him. He winked at her before he sat down.
“How is this possible”.Daisy said angrily to herself.
“Alright, the next person”.The teacher said and they continued.
After a while, each of them has a partner, the teacher writes each topic on a different piece of paper and asks the girls to pick, each of them picks and shares with their partners except Jasmine and Desmond wonders why she refused to show him the topic they will be working on.
“Alright, I will give you till the end of the week to submit the project work, good luck everyone!”.She left the class and it became rowdy.
💬 WHAT’S OUR TOPIC?” Desmond texted. Jasmine read the message and ignored it. 💬 AREN’T YOU GOING TO TELL ME?💬
💬IF YOU WANT TO KNOW, SWITCH MY NAME WITH SOMEBODY ELSE, I DON’T WANT TO BE PARTNER WITH YOU”.💬She texted and Desmond scoffed reading the text.
“Jake please switch with my brother”.Daisy said as she walked up to them.
“Why?”. Desmond asked.
“What do you mean ‘Why’ we are twins, we are supposed to do this project together”.
“Is not my fault I didn’t pick your name “. He said.
“You don’t want to do the project with me?”. Jake asked.
“Not really, you know sometimes, we can do it together in each other house, I don’t want to go to your house”.She said and Jake chuckled.
“If that is the problem, not to worry, we can do it in school during free period or I can come to your house instead”.
“What is your topic?”. Desmond asked.
“It states we should create blueprints or floor plans of a scene described in a novel, an historic setting, or an earthquake-proof bridge or structure”.She said.
“Good, you got the right person for that, Jake is an expert in this field”. Desmond said and Daisy left to her sit frowning.
“What was your topic?”. Jake asked.
“Jasmine hasn’t told me”.He said.
“Hmm, I see, why not go to her”.
“Sure”.He stood up and moved to Jasmine. “What is our topic?”.He asked and Jasmine raised her face to him.
“I said switch my name with someone else”.
“Sorry, I can not do that”.He smirked and quickly snatched the paper from her and read it.”Hmm, we are to create and illustrate bar graphs. These may be used to explore data sets, use statistics to support a point, or illustrate a growth or change in a market”.He smirk. “I guess you have work to do”.He said and left for his seat and Jasmine frowned after him.

★MR GEORGE MANSION★
Later at home, everyone was eating at the dining table but Daisy was unhappy.
“Daisy dear, what happened? Why are you moody?”.Mrs.Ava asked.
“Nothing Mom”.She replied.
“You can’t say nothing, tell us what the problem is”.Mr.George asked.
“Desmond refused to switch names with me”.She said sadly and everyone raised their faces to her and she started explaining everything to them.
“How is that his fault, your name was picked by his friend, I don’t see anything wrong with that”.Blake said.
“He is right, Jake is an intelligent guy”.Mrs.Ava said.
“I want to study with my brother, we are twins, and we are supposed to do the project together”.She said.
“I told you before that Jake is intelligent and fun to be with”. Desmond said.
“I know you two will do great in your project”.Mr.George said and Daisy frowned.
“So, Dez, is Jasmine your partner in the project?”.Blake asked smiling knowingly at him.
“Yeah, why do you ask?”. Desmond said.
“Nothing really, am just happy that she is your partner, which means she will be stopping by the house for the project or even be spending some night”.Blake said happily and Daisy scoffed.
“Yeah, I guess, I don’t think she will be spending the night”. Desmond said as he gulped his water.
“Why?”.He asked.
“Please Blake, don’t ask me, as you can see, am trying not to choke on my food”. Desmond said.
“Come on son, enough of the questions, and let’s respect the table manners”.Mrs.Ava said.
“Sorry”. Blake said and they resumed their meal.

Jasmine was working on her assignments when her mother entered with a glass of milk.
“What are you doing?”.She asked and handed over the milk to her.
“Thanks, Mom”. she gulped from it.
“Are you still working on your assignment? Isn’t it done yet? You need to sleep, is getting late”.
“I will Mom, I am almost done”.She said.
“OK, I will leave you to it, good night dear”.She kissed her forehead and walked away shutting the door behind her. Jasmine continued what she was doing and then her cell phone beeped for an incoming message.
💬 SLEEPING?”💬Desmond texted. Jasmine sighed tiredly seeing his message.
💬YES”💬 she replied and Desmond sent an Emoji laughter.
💬 HOW CAN YOU REPLY WHEN YOU ARE SLEEPING?💬
