Chapter Eighteen
The next morning, Jasmine arrived at school to see the same look everyone was giving her while checking their phones. Isabella story don’t copy. she sighed knowing fully well someone must have made a post about her.
“Well, let’s see what update they have about you this time, Jasmine”.She said nonchalantly and brought out her phone, she glanced through the site. “Oh, I see, you are becoming more popular than before”.She scoffed placed her phone on the bag and continued her walking giving everyone I don’t-care attitude. She got to her class and sat down ignoring all of them.
“Oh my God Jasmine, what a shame”.Daisy said out loud and they laughed. Isabella story don’t copy. “So this means you can’t avoid the food in the canteen that’s why you have been running away whenever is lunchtime”.She added and the student burst into a roar of laughter.
“Does that mean your parents can not afford a meal for you here? How unfortunate are you”.Olivia said and Jasmine met eyes with her.
She remembers when Olivia’s family was running bankrupt and she couldn’t afford lunch at school, Jasmine would be on the lookout for her by using her pocket money to buy lunch for her without anyone knowing. Isabella story don’t copy. She sighed and turned to her book as they continued to make jest of her.
Later at the canteen, everywhere was rowdy with students eating and chatting.
“Nathan, are you still angry?”.Jake asked seeing that he had returned to join them on their table after he decided to ignore them for days.
“Why should I be?”.He asked.
“Because you have practically ignored us since the issue in class”.Desmond said.
“Am not angry with you guys”.
“Are we cool now?”.Jake asked and he nodded.”That’s good to know”.They smiled at each other.
Meanwhile, Jasmine was all alone in the classroom, she couldn’t go out because she was burning up with a fever, her body was weak and her tummy hurt badly, Isabella story don’t copy, she wasn’t expecting her period to start today, her uniform was stained with blood.
“Why now?”.She rest her head on her desk.”What do I do now? What if the lunch break is over and everyone sees me like this, I will be mocked”.She sniffs.” Please God help me”.She whines in pain.
“Jasmine?”.Desmond called and Jasmine was shocked to hear his voice.
“Oh no, why is he here? Why now?”.She thought.
“Is everything ok?”. He asked and no response from her.”Jasmine”.He moved to her and touched her hand and he noticed she was having a body temperature. “Oh gosh, you are burning up”.
“Am fine”.She said weakly with her head still resting on the desk.
“No you are not, let me take you to the school clinic”.
“Am fine, just leave me alone”.
“Don’t be stubborn, let me take you there”.He said and tried to help her up but she pushed back. “Jasmine”.
“Please stay away from me”.She said with her sobbing voice and Desmond sighed. Isabella story don’t copy.
“I can’t leave you like this, I know we don’t get along, but please just let me take you to the school bay, please!”.He said sincerely and Jasmine raised his face to him and he could see the weaknesses and pain in her eye.”I will carry you on my back if you want to”.
“I can’t”.She sniffs feigning with her finger while looking away.
“What do you mean you can’t?”.He asked confusedly. Isabella story don’t copy. “You don’t have to be shy, you know I always carry you on my back”.
“Um…um”.She sputtered.
“You are what? Look, we just have thirty minutes for the lunch break to be over”.
“Am…am stained”.She said and Desmond was confused for a while and then he had a rethink on what she met because he had seen her stained before because of her monthly circle.
“Oh, that”.He thought for a while and then stood up as he took off his school jacket.”Stand up, I will tie this around you”.He said and Jasmine stood up weakly and they saw the chair was stained as well, he wrapped her with the jacket and squatted in front of her.”Come on, get on my back”.He said and Jasmine hesitated for a while and then climbed on his back, he stood up and rushed out of the class,
meanwhile, Nathan came out from the restroom after easing himself, he was surprised to see Desmond carrying Jasmine on his back, he stared at them for a while and then walked away. After Desmond dropped her at the school clinic, he rushed back to class with a mop and a bucket of water to clean up the blood stain from the chair, before students started coming in because the lunch break was over.

After school hours, Desmond refused to go home with them and they were surprised.
“Why won’t you come with us?”.Blake asked.
“I have something to do, I will come home later”.He said and his friends came over.
“What are you guys doing after school?”.Daisy asked talking to Jake and Nathan.
“Nothing, why do you ask?”.Jake asked.
“Because Desmond said he is not coming with us because he had something to do, I was thinking maybe you guys have something to do”.Daisy explained and everyone turned to Desmond.
“Ok fine”.He sighed.”I am staying behind to take Jasmine home”.He said.
“Why? Is she a child that needs someone to take her home and why do you want to take her home?”.Daisy asked unlikely.
“Is Jasmine ok?”.Blake asked.
“She wasn’t feeling fine, so I had to rush her to the school clinic”.He said.
“What? What happened to her?”.Blake panicked.
“Oh, I see, my eyes weren’t deceiving me earlier when I saw you carrying her on your back”.Nathan said.
“Really?”.Daisy scoffed.
“You all go ahead”.He said.
“I am coming with you”.Blake said.
“Am curious to know, why you care? Have you started to feel a thing for her?”.Nathan asked and Blake got furious.
“Excuse you! Why shouldn’t he care, Jasmine was once his sister that everyone once knew of”.Blake said. Isabella story don’t copy.
“But now they are not!”.Daisy said frowning.
“You all go ahead”.Desmond said.
“I want to come with you”.Blake insisted.
“Don’t worry, you will see her next time, but you have to go with Daisy”.
“Ok, just say my greetings to her”.
“I will”.He said
“See you then”.They entered the car and the driver zoomed off.
“Alright, catch up with you guys tomorrow,”.he said and walked away while they stared after him.
The driver drove them home and Daisy rushed down from the car angrily and went inside, Isabella story don’t copy, the maids greeted her immediately after they saw her enter the house.
“Where are my parents?”.She asked rudely and the nanny replied to her from the kitchen.
“They went out”.She said.
“To where?”.Blake interrupted them from behind.
“To pay a visit to Jasmine and her family”.Nanny said and Daisy frowned.
“Ok”.Blake said and left for his room.
“She is really pissing me off”.She said to herself.
“Do you want anything Ms.Daisy?”.1st maid asked and she stared hard at them.
“Screw you all!”.She said furiously and rushed to her room.
“Why is she so angry?”.2nd maid asked.
“She has always been like that since she got here”.Nanny said.
“I don’t like her, she is so rude and mean, Jasmine wasn’t like that”.1st maid said.
“Well, we can’t do anything now, we just have to abide by her rules”.Nanny said and they returned to the kitchen.
