“You should give me a cute name too.. I’m jealous of their relationship, she calls him Bluebell so sweetly” Rhett whined as he got into the car with So-hee
They stayed for dinner at Ace’s mansion, the others left already
So-hee smirked
“How about honey?” She fixed her seatbelt
Rhett shuddered dramatically, igniting the engine
“How old am I? 45?” He faced her making funny faces and she laughed
“Darling?” She asked again as he set the car on drive, he shook his head
“Uh… My love?”
“Seriously?” He laughed and she laughed along after a while
“Okay… Sweetheart?”
“We’re getting there”
“Baby..” She muttered shyly and he smirked
“Snowdrop!” He called and she blushed looking out of the window. He chuckled at her cuteness and concentrated on the road, the ringing tone of his phone blared in the car disrupting them from their thoughts
“Soo-min?” He raised a brow and asked her (So-hee) to pick the call
She did
“Boss?” Soo-min called breathlessly and he brought the car to an abrupt halt
“Soo-min, what’s up?”
“It’s Lucy…she passed out and we’re in the hospital now”
Rhett and So-hee exchanged stunned glances
” What?”

< NIGHT ~ THE KIM’S : YURI’S ROOM >
Yuri was sprawled on her bed face up, with her hair all over her face. She just got off a video call with her friends and she’s quite bored.
Groaning in frustration, she rolled on her bed continously
She heard a thud in her room and scoffed, since she already knows who it was – Moon!
“Hey,” Moon mused as he dusted his P@ŋts, he went to her chair and sat down
“What are you doing here?” She asked not looking at him
“Bored, so I came to ki|| my boredom.”
“How?”
“What aren’t you looking at me?” He asked moving to the bed, he sat on it
Yu-ri bit her lip and blinked, she didn’t want to look at him cause her heart always does things anytime she did
“Hmm?” He hummed as he laid beside her, she shifted uneasily and turned to face him
Both gasped at the sudden movement, their faces were so close that any movement from the latter they’d end up K!SSing
Yuri blinked rapidly and swallowed, Moon’s eyes wandered to her lips and stuck there
“Hmm” She cleared her throat nervously, “Why are you looking at me like that?” She asked shyly but instead of replying, Moon scuttled closer and captured her lips earning a gasp from her
She shut her eyes involuntarily enjoying the feel of his lips on hers. He kept Ṣūçƙing and biting tenderly on the flesh as he moved his lips against hers
After a while, he broke off and they both kept breathing heavily
“Why..” Yuri panicked and got up from her bed rushing to her bathroom, she locked it afterwards
A big grin splayed on her lips as she crouched down and hugged her knees to herself
“We K!SSed?…argh…why didn’t I push him away” She chided herself as she gradually flushed all over
Meanwhile, in the room, Moon kept grinning, her lips felt so soft that he wanted to K!SS her again
Gosh, maybe he’s mad! He looked at her bathroom door and chuckled placing his hands behind his head nonchalantly
“I’m not leaving anytime soon” He said loud enough for her to hear
“Fůçƙ you!” She spat and he laughed

< RHETT’S APARTMENT >
After knowing of Lucy’s heart condition and the few days she has, So-hee wouldn’t stop sobbing. She cried so much that her eyes were all puffy and red, same goes to her colleagues
Vivian had fainted when the doctor told them, she kept blaming herself but they all knew it wasn’t her fault
So-hee wiped her face and went to the kitchen to make ginger tea for her throbbing head
Rhett was still at the hospital with Lucy’s mother, he thought of having a word with Lucy when she regains consciousness
After making the tea, she returned to the living room and hopped on the sofa sipping slowly
Minutes later, Rhett was back but she was asleep on the couch.
He sighed exasperatedly taking off his shoes, he then walked to her on the couch, he touched her tear stained cheeks
“Life is full of surprises… It’s just sometimes, it hurts a lot” He muttered before picking her from the couch to the bedroom
“She’s not going to die right?” She asked sleepily whilst holding his hand. Rhett layed back and snuggled her close
“Sleep So-hee” He said and patted her hair, he did so till she slept back
“Just sleep” He mumbled and K!SSed her hair shortly

< TWO WEEKS LATER ~ THE KIM’S >
“How do I look? Good?” So-hee rushed out of her room and posed for Min-ji and her mom to see. Rhett’s parents were around and she was going to see them soon
Min-ji looked her up and smiled, nodding
“You look good Kim So-hee. I almost didn’t recognize you” she laughed and So-hee grinned happily
Mrs. Kim left Min-ji’s wheelchair and came to her front wiping off an imaginary tear
“My baby is all grown up. You look great dear, don’t be nervous okay, they’re people like us” She advised
“They’re Yi-jun’s parents” So-hee played with her fingers, “What if his mom doesn’t like me. I know Mr. Jung likes me tho”
Mina scoffed and rubbed her now straight hair lovingly
“She has to like you… I mean who on earth will h@ťě my baby, if she does or says anything hurtful to you… ”
“We’re a phone call away, So-hee just call us” Min-ji completed balling her fist seriously and So-hee laughed
She wore a stylish black sandals and hugged them both and as if on cue, the doorbell rang
“That must be our in-law” Min-ji blinked and So-hee smacked her lightly
“Take that as a point, when I get back on my feet, I’m hitting you back” Min-ji rolled her eyes
Mina wheeled her to the front door, while So-hee followed behind nervously clutching her purse
Rhett’s handsome face appeared when the door was opened, he smiled instantly
“Son in-law!” Mina exclaimed and hugged him briefly, he smiled and waved at Min-ji
“How are you?” He asked and she pouted
“I’m hungry” She replied and he burst out laughing
“Seriously?” He smiled, So-hee moved to the side so he could see her
“H.. hi” She said coyly and he turned his attention to her, he couldn’t stop looking
So-hee gulped as his gaze travelled round her body, did he not like her dress? Was she looking bad?
She started sweating profusely while tapping her feet nervously. She almost ran inside of not for Min-ji’s hold on her hand
“Wow” Rhett exclaimed after he came out of the daze. He was totally blown away by her looks, she just looks too good but with her hair straightened, she was gorgeous
It was so long almost reaching her butt.
Min-ji and Mina were all smiles as they watched the two
“Ahem” Mrs. Kim cleared her throat and he blushed embarrassingly
‘Was I drooling that obvious?’ He thought and looked at So-hee again, he noticed she was sweating
“Snowdrop, are you not feeling fine?” He asked standing in front of her, she gasped and bit her lip
Min-ji and her mom were giggling silently
“I’m fine… Let’s go” She held his hand and dragged him out quickly
“Take care and drive safe son-in-law” Mrs. Kim shouted after them
Min-ji laughed
“What do we do now?”
“We watch a movie” Mrs. Kim chuckled and wheeled her to the room
“I hope to start walking soon” Min-ji sighed and Mrs. Kim smiled
“Don’t worry dear, give it time, you’ll be back on your feet before you know it” She assured and Min-ji smiled
When they got to his car, Rhett held So-hee’s shoulders and made her face him
“Are you ill? We can go another time..”
“I’m fine. Just nervous, how do I look, is this dress okay…what would your parents think…should I change?” She ranted while he watched her with a smile
” Breath… So-hee, you look perfect, just perfect and don’t be nervous, they’re not that bad and if you worry about Emery so much, dad and I got you covered” He pecked her cheek and she exhaled
” You look hot…just like dessert” He flirted and she blushed looking around
” Stop it” She snapped and he laughed tucking her hair behind her ear
He opened the door for her to get in then he got in the driver’s seat too
“Yi-jun…let’s go see Lucy first” She said sadly and he nodded
“Sure”

HOSPITAL*LUCY’S WARD**
Sitting on a stool beside the bed is a woman in her late forties. She sat with a smile, streaks of her gray hair fell on her face. She was holding Lucy’s hand
The machines connected to Lucy’s body kept beeping, while on her face was an oxygen mask. She looked pale and lifeless
The door opened and the lady looked back, she smiled when she saw Rhett then So-hee who looked like she’d cry soon
“Son?” She called and Rhett nodded wrapping his arms around So-hee
“You’re still here?” Rhett asked and she nodded looking at So-hee, “This is my fiancee, So-hee…” He gestured at So-hee and the lady smiled
“She’s pretty”
So-hee clamped her lips together so as not to cry but failed woefully as her tears rushed out like a waterfall.
Lucy was going to leave the world soon and just the thought of it made her scared. It was because of Lucy she got accepted as an intern, and she lived up as her idol and friend
Rhett hugged her tightly
“Don’t cry now pretty girl… You’ll ruin your makeup” Lucy’s mom laughed and returned her gaze to Lucy
They stayed with her for a while before leaving. Few minutes on the road and they reached the Jung’s mansion which left her in awe
“Goodness!!” She gasped with wide eyes as she scrutinized the place.
“This…is your house? I mean mansion?” She squealed and he chuckled entwining their fingers as they made way to the entrance
He made to ring the bell but the door burst open, revealing the one and only Emery Jung
“Mom?” He called and she smiled out dimples, So-hee couldn’t help but admire her
How can someone be so pretty?
Emery smiled and pulled So-hee in leaving him behind, his face dropped
“She ditched me?” He said unbelievably
Mr Jung came by holding two glasses of wine, he gave him one
“She ditched me too.. when you said you were coming with your girlfriend. So we’re even” He said and Rhett smirked
Mr. Jung gazed back and smiled with raised brows
” My intern?” He asked referring to So-hee
“You mean my girlfriend?” Rhett rolled his eyes and walked in, he chuckled when he saw how fLū$tered So-hee was with how talkative his mom was being
She surely didn’t expect elegant and perfect Emery to be so…down to earth
“So-hee is such a cute name.. you’re cute too, so cute” Emery pinched her cheeks, giggling
She’s excited as it was the first time Rhett would bring a lady home.
“Thanks ma’am” So-hee smiled
“Aww… Call me Emery. Or mom, yes mom, call me mom” Emery clapped gleefully
” Mom” So-hee called and Emery wiped off a tear from her face dramatically
“That sounds so perfect” She sniffed and So-hee grinned feeling free and accepted
“Mom?” Rhett pouted and she shushed him dragging So-hee with her towards the kitchen
So-hee laughed as she did
Rhett blinked and Mr. Jung laughed behind him leaving him startled
“Dad?” He whined and Jung Woon laughed more
“Sorry kiddo. When will you be publishing?” He asked
Rhett sighed
“In two days hopefully” He answered
“Lucy… She never told me anything” Woon said with gritted teeth, he felt like the world’s worst boss cos despite working with Lucy for almost six years he failed to notice she was sick
“Life happens… This is going to be Shine’s first publishing without her around” Rhett said dejectedly and his dad nodded slowly heaving a deep breath
” C’mon boys, dinner’s set” Emery yelled and they exchanged glances
“You better have marriage plans in your head, she’s been talking about grandkids nonstop” Woon informed with a laugh and Rhett chuckled
They went to the table, So-hee and Emery were already seated and having a deep discussion
They looked like long lost friends. Rhett smiled, he liked that they were getting along
“Let’s eat.. I made everything myself for my daughter-in-law” Emery mused and So-hee blushed
“How are you So-hee, still clumsy?” Woon asked smiling
” Yes.. I mean no boss” So-hee stuttered scratching her head, he laughed
” Isn’t she cute? Good choice Yi-jun, I can picture your kids already” Emery said and Rhett coughed
” Hmm? ”
” So have you guys decided when you’ll be getting married?” She asked again but this time So-hee coughed
Jung Woon pressed his lips together to stop himself from laughing
“Hey, what happened, are you two okay?” Emery asked when she noticed they kept coughing
” Peppery” Rhett coughed
” What? I didn’t add too much in the food. Try the kimchi” Emery urged but he kept coughing
So-hee and Woon were now laughing hard at them. Emery frowned when she realized what was happening
“Ya… Idiot!” She threw a broccoli and it hit his head, he yelped
“Eomma!!” He whined
Emery faced So-hee
“I might look young and segzy but I’m an old lady, who needs grandkids, forget this get up dear. So when will I be expecting those cuties” she asked seriously
Jung Woon was a laughing mess
“Soon. So-hee and I are getting married and we’ll give you those cuties but please let’s enjoy the dinner for now” Rhett answered quickly taking hold of So-hee’s hand posessively
” She can be mad sometimes” He whispered to her and she smacked him
” Since I’m being made to wait then I want seven of them” Emery hit her hand on the table
So-hee gasped, seven?
“I promise you ten cuties mom, ten!” Rhett did the same
“What?!!” So-hee yelled standing up with wide eyes
Woon was already on the floor laughing his @$$ out
“I like the sound of that” Emery grinned showing Rhett a thumb up
“What?!” So-hee gasped again and they looked at her
“Ten cuties like you… Aww” Emery gushed, So-hee looked at Rhett and he blinked cutely
Her jaws dropped

“10?” So-hee showed Rhett her palms when they were in the hallway, he was giving her a tour of the mansion
Rhett shrugged with a naughty smile gracing his face
“10 kids, what? Just look at me..” She whined and he laughed understanding what she meant
“When I’m moving in you, you will forget about this..I bet your eyes will be at the back of your head then” He bit his lip and she gasped turning red all over
Why is he so naughty’ She thought feeling like the ground swallow her up
“How about we do an experiment, right now” He smirked and she screamed running away crazily, he followed behind chuckling

< THREE DAYS LATER ~ HOSPITAL >
It was a day after Shine’s publishing, their new magazine edition had turned the market into a spree. They’d sold out on the previous day within barely four hours of release
It was Shine’s biggest sale yet, and every hour, it extended largely
Despite all these wins, the staff of shine were still sad, Lucy wasn’t there as usual with her cheerful smile
Rhett was the one who had made the speech after their publish but it was gloomy, he seemed lost
Currently, outside Lucy’s ward, is Felix, Clement, Ella and Vivian. The others were there the previous day
They’re the ones with longer work relationship with Lucy
Inside the ward was Lucy’s mom and her younger sister who was in tears
It was the 23rd day but according to the doctor, her heart couldn’t hold on any longer
With all these, Lucy’s mom was the only one who had a smile. She knew her daughter lived life and without regrets. So she didn’t mind, it was already her fault to have let Lucy into the world but after having a good talk with Lucy days ago, she didn’t feel bad again
It was better this way. Better!
Lucy’s eyes fluttered open slowly, just then, doctor Chen and a nurse entered
Lucy looked at her family with a weak smile,
“Mama.. Ae-cha” She called
“Eonni!” Her sister called wailing loudly
Vivian rushed in the room and rushed to her side
“Miss Shine…” Lucy called weakly and took a deep breath, suddenly the machines started making lots and continuos beeping sounds while the doctor began disconnecting the support materials on her body
Vivian looked at the electrocardiogram which slowly turned to a flat line with a loud long beep
“Time of death, 11:09AM” The doctor announced and the nurse wrote it down
The others rushed in, and when Clement saw Lucy gone, he quickly rushed out while Ella hugged Felix crying on his chest
“God bless your soul dear” Lucy’s mom pecked her forehead before the nurse covered her body with a white sheet
Vivian finally burst into tears as she fell on her knees
