< 9PM ~ CITY HOSPITAL, MIN-JI’S WARD >

Everyone looked at the doctor in anticipation as he checked Min-ji’s vitals, she was still unconscious as they were getting really worried at this point

Mr. & Mrs. Kim were over the edge since Yuri had called and informed that So-hee was on her way here

They hoped a miracle to happen and Min-ji regains consciousness else.. So-hee might join her in coma

“Doctor, why is she not awake yet?” Ace asked, when he was about leaving

He was looking disheveled and tired

“Give her time Ace, I believe she’ll be okay soon… She passed out because she was shocked” The doctor informed and he nodded slowly

The doctor left while he returned to his position beside her bed and held her hand K!SSing her knuckles continously

Mr. Kim touched his shoulder lightly and sighed

“You should go home son, you need to get some sleep” He said

“I can’t sleep knowing she’s still here… I just can’t” Ace breathed

“Don’t be too hard on yourself, she’ll be fine.” Mrs. Kim said, she moved towards the door, “Lemme go and get some food, you need to eat…”

The door burst open before she could complete her statement, luckily she wasn’t that close to the door or it might’ve hit her head

Without acknowledging her mom’s presence, So-hee ran into the ward, she tripped almost falling but Mr. Kim caught her.

“Daughter” He smiled, if it was in a lighter situation he would’ve laughed at her clumsiness

“Dad… Min-ji” So-hee moved away from him and went to the bed

“Eonni.. ” Yu-ri ran in next P@ŋting, behind her was Rhett. So-hee had left them behind at the parking lot, she actually jumped out of the car before he even parked

It’s a miracle she still ran all the way to the ward

“Lee Min-ji… It’s me So-hee, I’m back… I only went for two weeks and see what you’ve done to yourself, please wake up… I have a lot of things to tell you” So-hee cried, shaking Min-ji vigorously

Mrs. Kim didn’t know when she burst into tears too.

“Let’s go out , it’s too crowded in here” Mr. Kim led Yuri and his wife out. Rhett sighed, and looked at So-hee before leaving too

“You.. why did you let this happen…” So-hee choked on her words as she stared at Ace who just shut his eyes tightly, guilt was eating him up already and now…

“I’m sorry” He whispered

“She’ll be fine right? What did the doctor say?” So-hee sniffed still holding Min-ji’s body close

“She’ll be fine” Ace affirmed and scurried out of the room

So-hee looked at Min-ji and started sobbing again

“Lee Min-ji… I h@ťě you so much” She cried, hiccuping

Outside, Ace paced about the terrace of the hospital, he came there for some fresh air. He was getting suffocated, especially when So-hee asked about the doctor’s diagnosis

She had no idea how endangered Min-ji’s legs are. Gosh!

He ruffled his hair and released and long frustrated sigh

“I’m such a fool… This all my fault…all because of me..” He scolded himself

“It’s not your fault dude… It’s no one’s fault, things happen” Rhett said behind him, he placed his hand on Ace’s shoulder and tapped it gently

“Yi-jun?” Ace raised a brow and Rhett frowned

“Rhett!” He corrected and chuckled handing the bottle of water he brought to him

“What’s the difference, it’s still your name…and thanks. I love your books, you’re good” Ace drank from the bottle quickly

“I know. Everyone says it.” Rhett bragged

Ace smirked with an eye roll

“I never knew you were so haughty, now I regret being a fan” He chuckled softly

Rhett grinned

“At least you laughed a bit… that’ll relax your nerves. Trust me dude, she’ll be fine and fit hopefully”

“Yeah, hopefully” Ace mumbled sadly

Few minutes of them talking randomly, they returned back to the front of the ward. So-hee was still in with Min-ji

Yu-ri smiled when she spotted them, she tapped Mrs. Kim lightly

“I’m proud of my sisters choices, take a look at my brothers-in-law…so cute, hot, segzy and loaded…ahh” She squealed

Mrs. Kim shook her head

” Make sure you follow in their footsteps too else, I will ki|| you” She seethed and Yuri gulped, nodding like a lizard

“Hello ma’am” Rhett smiled and then nodded curtly and Mr. Kim

“You’re…

” He’s So-hee’s boyfriend…my brother-in-law” Yuri rushed to Rhett’s side and held his arm, he chuckled

“Hmm… I’ve always known since the day you hugged in front of our house… anyways, is she pregnant yet, I know she wouldn’t tell me…”

Mr. Kim and Yuri gasped, Rhett was chuckling discreetly, he never imagined So-hee’s family to be so free spirited

” Yeobo! (Honey!)”

“Eomma ( mom!)”

She shrugged and scoffed

” What?”

Ace laughed for the first time in two days, very hard. They also joined him after a while

< THE LEE’S PENTHOUSE ~ MASTER BEDROOM >

“How are you feeling now?” Tae asked when he got to Eun-Hae who was laying weakly in bed

He brought her home when she passed out, and asked a doctor to check on her, she has been asleep since, she just woke up

Eun-Hae stared at him somehow before speaking

“I’m fine”

“Here. Have this soup… You need to eat something” He said feeling concerned

Eun-Hae pinched her brows, a straining her face in surprise. Why was he acting like he cared?

“I’m sorry if I made you relive Ji-hyo’s death back there. I wasn’t thinking straight” She apologized

Tae smiled sadly

” I did see Ji-hyo back there and I got scared… Here have this and get more sleep, we’ll visit Min-ji tomorrow” He dropped the soup and stood up but she held his hand

” Tae… I’m sorry for everything, I should’ve listened to you when we first met…I should’ve gotten rid of the baby when I had the chance to, maybe things might’ve been different then…I’m sorry”

” Have some rest Eun-Hae”

” Let’s get divorced Tae… I can’t keep living like this anymore, I lost everything the day I stepped into your life…”

” We’re not getting divorced Eun-Hae, we’ll face the music of our mistake together, I cheated on Ji-hyo, then lost everything…. I love Ji-hyo. I still do and I forever will be her culprit but that doesn’t mean I’ll let you go… ” He sighed

” We’re working on this marriage Eun-Hae, starting from my relationship with Anna. I’ve wronged her greatly, she became ruthless because of the neglect from me and Min-ji… I doubt if she’ll ever forgive me but I’ll try”

He looked at her, she was already in tears. She wanted his love but he couldn’t give it cause Ji-hyo is still there in his heart

As for making things work, she’ll try too

“Thank you Tae..” She sniffed and he smiled shortly before leaving

” I’ve grown to love you truly but I guess I don’t deserve your love” She muttered, and bit her lip hard

< 2 DAYS LATER ~ HOSPITAL >

Heaving a deep sigh, Min-ji’s eyes crinkled, opening slowly and gently. When the light hit her the first time, she shut it close instantly

It happened again twice and the third time it shot open staring at the white ceiling above

She groaned trying to gain attention of whoever was around. It just registered in her head that she was in a hospital

Recalling all Anna did to her, she couldn’t help but shudder and wonder how she didn’t die

Maybe because she met her mom in the netherworld asking her to come back

She groaned again, hoarsely

“Min-ji..” So-hee called beside her, standing up groggily, she was asleep when she heard her

“So-hee” Min-ji called weakly and So-hee smiled

“Lee Min-ji!!” She squealed hugging her tightly as if she planned on squeezing life out of her completely

When Ace heard her voice outside, he rushed in quickly

“Love?” He ran to Min-ji’s side and pecked her lips sweetly

“Ace… Nari almost ki||ed me there” Min-ji sobbed and he nodded patting her hair

” Min-ji do you feel strong now… Let’s go home, I’ll make all the dishes you want” So-hee said childishly causing Min-ji to laugh

” The doctor will be here in a few seconds to check on you, I’m glad you’re awake, I was losing my mind already… Please don’t scare me like this again ever!” Ace poured K!SSes on her face and she smiled

Trying to move, she couldn’t. She blinked, groaning and shaking her head when she didn’t feel anything… Nothing at all!

What?

She started panicking as tears rolled down her eyes

“So-hee, I can’t feel my legs” she said

So-hee and Ace exchanged glances

” You just woke up so it’s possible” So-hee responded but she wasn’t having it

“This is different, I can feel every other part of me except from my legs So-hee. Ace, I can’t feel anything.. ”

” Calm down baby, calm down… It’ll be alright I’m here…Your legs are fine…. ”

The doctor and a nurse entered, he walked to her to check the machines

” What’s wrong with my legs doctor, I can’t feel them. It’s so numb… ” Min-ji shot and the doctor smiled

” You need to rest Min-ji… For now, it’s because of fatigue” the doctor said and signaled the nurse to sedate her

” Wait… ” Min-ji drifted to sleep as the nurse injected her with the drug

“Doctor…” So-hee called and he shook his head

Saddened, Ace stormed out of the room

< NIGHT ~ RHETT’S APARTMENT >

So-hee walked into the living room dressed in one of Rhett’s white button up shirts. It stopped on her knees, almost looked like a potato since it was oversized

Her hair was a bit wet, she just came out of the shower. After visiting Min-ji at the hospital, he brought her here since she refused staying alone in her apartment

She met him blending fruits. Instinctively, she hugged his back placing her head comfortably

“Your so perfect!” She muttered

“I’m your Mr. Perfect, only yours” He smiled and she blushed

She moved away from him and stood by his side watching what he was doing

“My parents will be back next weekend. I told them about you and they want to meet” He glanced at her and laughed at her shocked expression

“Why the face, you look stunned” He asked

“You want me to meet your parents?” She asked

” Yes why? I met yours, so you’ll meet mine too. That way relationships can be formed right? Or did I get that wrong?” He touched his head and she grinned

“A girl like me, I’m so clumsy and just plain, don’t you think it’s stupid. Your mom is Emery Jung, she’s always so elegant what if she doesn’t like me..” She played with her fingers

He faced her with parted lips

“She’s not like that So-hee. And even if she doesn’t like you I don’t care… She’s not the one going to marry you, I am and I love you that’s what matters… Besides, my mom is only elegant on TV” He ended with a laugh and poked her nose

She smiled

“Why did you move to the states in the first place?” She asked

“Because of my mom and my career. My dad didn’t mind tho, he loves mom too much to say no to her and she’s been faithful too” He said and looked at her, realizing she zoned out.

He quickly wrapped up what he was doing and cleared the place then stood in front of her

“So-hee..” He tapped and she jerked

“H..Uh..oh” She scratched her head, he sighed and picked her up

” You’re stressed out… Thinking about Min-ji?” He asked and she nodded against his neck

“If you keep thinking you might fall sick” He said worriedly and took her to the living room, dropping her on the couch. It was wide enough for both of them to lay

He hovered her, looking into her emerald eyes lovingly then reached down and claimed her lips, Ṣūçƙing on the flesh

So-hee Mõ@ɲed into the K!SS and closed her eyes, just when she was easing in, he broke off

“You trust me right?” He asked and she nodded

“Hmm”

Rhett reconnected their lips, this time it was wild and more demanding. Slowly trailing his hands across the shirt she wore, he unbuttoned it and started caressing her bare skin

This sent So-hee over the edge, she gasped and threw her head backwards. Her toes curled up on the couch, she Mõ@ɲed.

Rhett broke the K!SS and started placing short wet K!SSes on her neck down to her tummy in the most sensual way earning a sigh of pleasure from her lips

“Yi-jun..” She Mõ@ɲed softly, she’s never been this close to a man before, she was feeling weird things in her body and was so wet down there

All her worries fled out the window and she was lost in what he was doing

It felt so good

Her hand went to his hair, ruffling it as his lips Ṣūçƙed the sweet spot on her neck.

“Ohh..” She Mõ@ɲed and bit her lip tightly, fighting back more sounds

Rhett smiled satisfactorily as he stared at her chest and neck, red marks were all over and most importantly, it looked so perfect on her body

His clumsy girl.

Moving up, he placed a short wet K!SS on her lips then nose before falling beside her. So-hee’s breath was heavy with her chest rising and falling

What just happened, she thought as she opened her eyes

She glanced over at Rhett who was watching her in amusement, blushing, she looked away

He chuckled

“I.. err… I’m.. hungry” She stuttered shyly

“Hmm.” He smirked, getting up, he pecked her tummy before heading to the kitchen

So-hee sighed trying to think of something else but all she could think of was how his lips were running on her body

She grinned and touched her chest to feel her racing heartbeat

“God Yi-jun” She mumbled and sat up, she gasped lightly when she saw her shirt unbuttoned

Then the love bites… thankfully, she wore underwears underneath

She stood up after buttoning the shirt and looked at him

“I…I will use the bathroom” She announced stupidly and ran off

Rhett looked back and laughed

Few minutes later, Rhett walked into the inner room with a bowl of hot noodles

He smiled when he saw her fast asleep on the bed

“I guess she wasn’t really hungry” He smirked and walked towards the bed, he dropped the food on the bedstand and tucked her in properly, placing a short K!SS on her lips

He picked the bowl and switched off the lights before leaving

< A WEEK LATER >

Min-ji had been receiving therapy for her legs but she still couldn’t get to walk. She was always in a wheelchair

She was still in the hospital but Ace had the best ward prepared for her. He stayed with her everyday, literally worked from there too

Currently, she was done with a session and the doctor just left

She looked at Ace and suddenly burst into tears, she still can’t feel her legs

Partial paralysis or wh@ťěver was the diagnosis but she feels she can’t ever walk again

Ace rushed to her worriedly, he palmed her face as he sat before her on the floor

“Min-ji… What happened, what’s wrong?” he asked and she cried more

She was being a burden to him and it was hurting her so much. Why wouldn’t he just leave her and live the life he deserves

“Why are you still here with me Ace…I don’t think I’ll be able to walk again. You’re just wasting your time with me” She sniffed and a frown made way to his face

” I’m never leaving you Min-ji, even if you go blind or even lose your limbs, I’ll be here always and ever loving you..just you. You’re here because of me, Anna did this to you because of me, I’m sorry..” He said with a cracked voice

” I don’t want you to stay with a paralyzed lady for the rest of…” She was cut short when he carried her from the wheel chair

” Ace?” She gasped but he didn’t answer, he kept a straight face as he carried her out of the ward only to meet the Kim’s just arriving along with Rhett

They looked at him confusedly

“Hey what’s this?” Mrs. Kim asked moving forward

He ignored her and continued walking, they followed till he got out heading to his car

Without saying a word to them, he got into his car and ordered the driver to drive

“What?” Yu-ri yelled throwing her hands up in exasperation

What in the world just happened

“Come..” Rhett took So-hee’s hand going to his car, the others followed

They hopped in and he drove roughly after Ace’s car

“Ace, why did you bring me to your house?” Min-ji asked when he carried her into the house

His mansion

He said nothing, rather he sent for a servant to get her a cold drink

Soon, the others trooped in looking somewhat angry

“What on Earth is wrong with you, you could have just said you were bringing her home” So-hee snapped at him and went to sit near Min-ji

” Sis is right” Yuri sighed and sat down on one of the chairs

Rhett entered too

“What the hell man” He eyed Ace and scoffed

All this while, Ace wasn’t saying anything, he just sat typing on his phone really fast

“What’s going on in your head son?” Mr. Kim asked

“I’m glad y’all made it here” He spoke up

A man dressed corporately walked in hurriedly holding a briefcase, he bowed before Ace and then at the others

Min-ji creased her brows

“Ace? What’s going on?”

“Yes, tell us… what’s going on?” Mrs. Kim spoke too

” We’re getting married” Ace dropped the bombshell and everyone’s jaw dropped

Silence followed, only the ruffling of pages opening from the man’s book was heard

Min-ji exhaled and gulped

“What?”

“Yes. I want to spend the rest of my life with you Min-ji, we’ll deal with every other thing later but now… we’re getting married” He said firmly

” Ace?” Min-ji whispered, he smiled and knelt on one knee in front of her then held her hand, the one with the ring he gifted her

“This is not your engagement ring but let’s use it for now…will you marry me Min-ji?” He asked and she blinked

So-hee sniffed as she was already crying

” Oh my God… This is so touching and romantic” Yuri wiped an invisible tear off her face

Min-ji looked at Mr and Mrs Kim, they nodded

“My legs?” She whispered and he smirked

“You’ll be up and walking for our white wedding love, I promise” He said and she nodded

” So it’s a yes?” He asked and she nodded fighting back her tears

“What about her parents…I mean your dad?” Mrs. Kim asked almost inaudibly

” They’ll be invited for our white wedding” Ace responded before Min-ji could

So-hee pouted and hugged Min-ji

“If you marry him now, you’ll no longer stay with me in our apartment?” She muttered crying

” Kim So-hee… don’t be a baby, gosh!” Min-ji sniffed and they giggled

” See you got married before me” So-hee laughed

“I’m not married yet!” She snapped

“Everything’s ready…let’s proceed with the signing” The lawyer said and So-hee wriggled her brows at Min-ji

Min-ji started laughing

“Come visit me okay. I need the gist of your first K!SS with Rhett too” She winked and So-hee blushed glancing at Rhett who winked too

“Hmm” Mr. Kim cleared his throat and they laughed again

They proceeded to sign on their marriage certificates.

“I love his style.. how about we get married too” Rhett whispered to So-hee and she smirked

” And have babies just like your mom wants” He added and she blushed, moving away from him

He chuckled softly

< SHINE >

” Ella” She halted when she heard Felix call her name. She hugged the files she was holding to herself and twirled, she gasped when she realized how close they were

She took a step back

“Editor Shin?” She raised a brow and blinked

“I’ve apologized for what happened that night Ella so why do you keep avoiding me, like you no longer want me to edit for you, you’re always running when I’m around and now, you seem like you’ve seen a ghost… Really? I’m dying of guilt here Ella” He said in one breath and she sighed

“Sorry if you feel that way… And as for edits, you always ask me to pay so.. ” She shrugged

” So you forgive me? ” He asked to be clear and she grinned mischievously

“I have articles needing edits, I’ll forgive you only when you do it for free” She smirked and he scoffed rolling his eyes

” Let me see?”

She raised the biggest file up and wiggled her brows. He coughed nervously

“Free? Free? C’mon!” He whined and she scoffed walking away, he ran after her and took the file then walked ahead of her

Ella stared at his figure and smiled hastening her steps to pace up with him

When they got to the workspace, the others apart from Lucy were around Clement’s desk looking keenly into his laptop

Lucy was working on her desk, Vivian was out for a meeting

They went there too. Clement was showing them a preview of the magazine

“Wow… We nailed it, looks great” Ella exclaimed

“Right? And So-hee’s idea is a blast, look how great this came out” Hana praised

Clement moved to the next page and the girls gasped, squealing when they saw the picture

“Jungkook!!”

“Lucy, this is not fair, you guys sent us away for two weeks just to interview golden maknae alone!” Hana whined faking sob sounds

“Seriously” Ella pouted and Lucy chuckled, shaking her head from her desk

” That’s my bias there… I’ll never go for any company vacation again. Who knows, it might be Jennie next” Soo-min huffed and they laughed

” And Hana, didn’t you interview Jisoo before? You’re so lucky…” Soo-min added and Ella burst out laughing

” Someone that was too stunned to speak, I asked all the questions” She said laughing

” In my defense, I was not prepared” Hana said and they laughed more

Lucy smiled sadly, she’s glad she lived to see them together. She stacked the papers she just finished working on and looked at them

“Seems they’re pretty engrossed” she muttered and stood up heading to Rhett’s office, she’d have So-hee take them but since she isn’t here and the rest are busy, she’s doing it herself

Four steady steps ahead, she felt a pang on her chest, she released the papers and clutched there tightly

She groaned weakly

Felix looked up

“Lucy” He called gaining attention from the others

“Lucy!!” They called together rushing to where she was

Slowly, she went to the floor, passing out immediately

Vivian was just entering the place, she gasped and threw her bag somewhere in the room and ran towards her lifeless body

“Lucy!!”
