FEW MINUTES LATER***
“That’s all you need to know” Andres said.
Valerie smiled and took the paper from him.
“Thank you so much, Andres” she said.
“You’re welcome. So, do you need anything else? Want to go on a stroll with me?” He asked.
“Can we do that later? I need to check something” she stood up.
“Alright, will be expecting you”
She flashed a smile at him before leaving the room.
She took to her heels till she got to her room, Camila is not in at the moment.
She quickly went to her bed and brought out the letter from her pocket.
She placed both papers beside each other, she smiled.
“It’s the same. But, what could be wrong?” She mumbled
She took the papers and went out of the room, heading to Fernando’s room.
“What are you doing?” She asked when she got to his room.
Fernando turned from the window to face her.
“Nothing”
She walked up to him with a smile.
“Why are you getting hotter each day?” She asked.
“Am I?”
They both laughed.
“I already did what you asked me to do. I went to Andres room and…”
“You went to his room?” Fernando asked.
She nodded.
“Don’t you ever try that again? How can you do such thing? What if he hurts you? Did you get hurt?” He asked, looking at her body for an injuries
“I didn’t. Why are you so worked up, Andres is your friend, he can never hurt me” Valerie said.
“No one is to be trusted, Val” he said.
“So, what happened in his room?”
“Well…..” She handed the papers to him.
“The writings are the same, isn’t it?” She asked.
Fernando clenched his jaw, he was right after all.
“That betrayal” he gritted his teeth.
“What’s wrong?” Valerie asked.
“He’s the spy in the clan”
She gasped.
“What?”
“How could he f-__-king betray me? After everything we’ve gone through together?” He yelled.
Valerie looked at him in confusion, why will Andres betray him?
“Can you make this clear to me?” She asked, holding his hand.
Fernando’s gaze soften when his eyes landed on her.
“Come here” he dragged her to the bed.
“Val, I want you to know that everything I’m doing here is for your own good. I don’t h@ťě you, I can never h@ťě you, but…” He sighed deeply.
“You’re in danger now, a big one at that”
“A danger? What do you mean?”
“Andres is a spy from Arturo, he works for him and I’m sure Arturo will be aware of your existence by now. In the Mafia world, women are considered to be a weakness to us”
“We don’t do love. That’s why Don was against you staying here. You remember the day we came back from the hotel, we met a man in my room who asked of your identity. I said you’re a nobody, I did that to protect you, Val. If he should find out you’re my woman, he can get you ki||ed”
“I’m so sorry, this is all my fault. I shouldn’t have brought you here against your will, you wouldn’t be in this mess because of me” he muttered
“It’s so funny you were doing all this to protect me, while I’m always mad at you thinking you h@ťě me. You don’t have to apologize to me, Ferdie, I understand you’re in much pain as I am. The feeling when you find out your best friend turns out to be your enemy, it must hurts a lot” she moved closer to him and held his cheeks
“Ferdie, no matter what, I’m never leaving you so don’t push me away, you hurts me more when you do that. And about Arturo, can you tell me what’s between you two? And who’s Don?” She asked.
“Arturo was the one who ki||ed my parents”
Valerie’s hand flew to her mouth.
“It was my fault, if only I hadn’t insisted on going to see her, I wouldn’t have lost them. I’m a bad luck, I ki||ed my parents, the mother of the woman I love, and now I…. You’re in danger because of me”
“No, don’t call yourself that, Ferdie. You aren’t and will never be a bad luck” she tried to comfort him.
“I knew it that you won’t be heartless this way, circumstances must have made you this way” she said.
“Arturo ki||ed my parents, he held me captive and makes sure he beats me up everyday. He made me rape some girls even when I was so young, he hits me whenever I refused to. Women were R@P£D daily in my presence, their cries sounds like music to their ears. Everyday, I was always in blood. The blood of the girls on my body, it was horrific” he sniffs.
“Arturo made me this way, he turned me into a monster. I h@ťě myself every single day, everything went on for years till he came. That’s Don, he saved me from Arturo, he trained me like his son. He’s my mentor, and I’ll forever be grateful to him for the rest of my life”
Valerie cleaned the tears in her eyes but more kept rushing out.
“I’m sorry but they just keep rushing out” she mumbled, cleaning her tears.
Fernando smiled sadly.
“Stop crying Val, I feel so pathetic right now”
“I’m sorry, I had no idea if what you passed through. How could he do that to a little boy? Doesn’t he has a conscience at all?”
“Arturo already sold his soul to the devil. He wants to destroy me just the way he did to my parents, Don was against it, that’s why he doesn’t wants me to fall in love. To him, she’ll be my weakness and they’ll use her against me” He said.
“Valerie, you’re special, so special to me. I don’t want to get hurt, this place is dangerous for you but outside will be more dangerous if I won’t be beside you. Don’t ever let anyone know of your condition right now, not even your friends except Camila, since she’s the doctor here. Make sure you’re always with Alex, don’t ever let him out of your sight and…”
“How can you he so worried about me when you’re also in pain?” She asked, cutting him off.
“Val….”
She placed her hand on his lips.
“Shh, do my hide your pain, Ferdie. Your eyes says it all, you can let it out” she whispered.
“Don’t worry about me, I’ll be safe. You have to be safe too, our baby needs you to be strong” she smiled.
Fernando pulled her to his laps.
“I can never let you go, Val, not even in my next life. I’ll protect you with my every being, I’ll make sure nothing happens to you and the baby”
“What about Don? How will he react when he finds out I’m carrying your baby?” She asked.
Fernando went still for a moment, that’s the question he has been avoiding himself.
He was given a three days grace to eliminate Valerie, now that she’s pregnant, he wonder what Don will do.
“Leave it to me, Val. Don’t worry yourself” he forced a smile.
Valerie pulled his head to her chest, her hands went to his hair.
“I’ll protect you, Ferdie” she whispered.
Fernando chuckled, rubbing her a*s softly.
“How?”
“You don’t have to know” she giggled
“Just be safe for me, Val” he mumbled against her chest.
Valerie played with his hair, a sad smile on her lips.
“Why will Andres betray Fernando?” That’s the current question in her mind.
She felt sad for him, for both of them. How could he be going through a lot right from his childhood?
“Arturo, pray I never lay my hands on you or I swear it, you’re dead” she mumbled to herself.
“Ferdie” she whispered.
“Hmm” he hummed against her chest
“I’m… I’m hungry, it’s the baby not me” she quickly added
Fernando chuckled before raising his head to look at her
“Foodie” he teased.
She pouts.
A knock was heard and they both exchanged glances. The door opened and Andres entered, he has a shock expression on his face when he saw Valerie
Valerie quickly stood up from Fernando’s laps and picked the papers, she quickly hid them under the pillow.
“Why are you here?” Fernando asked.
Andres cleared his throat.
“Is it okay to say it in her presence?” He asked.
“Just say wh@ťěver you have to say”
“I found the spy Fernando, I have the evidence on my phone”
Valerie looked at Fernando.
“Who’s the spy?” Fernando asked.
“Manuel” Andres replied with a smile.
