Jerome was seated in the sitting room, dealing with some papers when Pearl came downstairs.
“Not feeling sleepy?” He asked as he kept dealing with the work in front of him.
“No, I just came for a glass of water” she replied as she went to pour herself a glass of water.
She was about going back upstairs when she change her mind and went to join him.
“Can I help you with something?” She asked.
“Tch! Why this sudden offer?” He asked.
“Its because am grateful for everything but if you don’t need my help, I might as well go back to my….”
“I do need your help” he said as he push some papers in front of her.
“Help me arrange it have been having a hard time trying to do it myself” He confide as a triumphant smile lit her face.
“So you are working on the new product?” Pearl asked as she arrange the file.
“Yes and Its got to be perfect” He replied still going through the paper.
“We are also doing our best in the PR team” she began slowly.
“Just so we can achieve our goal, we’ve decided to recruit Ivan to model for us” as soon as she said that, he stared at her.
“Ivan as in the super hot male model?” Jerome asked and she gave a nod.
“With him modelling for our new product, am sure that it’s gonna be a large sale” Pearl said.
“I don’t want him modelling for us”
“Why?”
“Is it that you don’t know or you are just pretending? Ivan is a freaking womaniser, no female around him leaves without being tainted ” Jerome said.
“Is it about his love for girls. You don’t have to worry, Ivan knows how to be professional when it comes to work “
“And if he isn’t professional, what are you going to do?” Jerome ask.
“And what does that have to do with me?”
“You are a beautiful girl Pearl, what if he finds you attractive and wants you as his next girl”
“I doubt that. Ivan only goes for the classy ladies, he won’t look at me since am not the classy type and don’t worry, even if our marriage is a secret, I won’t go around with other guys after all, am married to you” Pearl said which satisfied him.
“Will you be the one dealing with Ivan?” Jerome asked.
“No,my superior will be the one doing that and once we’ve manage to lure him in then the rest will be handled by the planning department ” Pearl answered.
“That’s good as long as you are not the one handling Ivan then am fine with it” Jerome said aloud.
“Why are you fine with me not being given Ivan case?” She asked and that was when he realise that he’s said the wrong thing.
“Huh….it’s getting late, why don’t you go up to sleep, I am feeling sleepy as it is” he said as he head upstairs leaving Pearl starring after him.

Having had a restless day, Jerome left his office wanting to go for the lunch he missed earlier.
Opal wasn’t at her seat and so, he took the elevator which whisk him to the third floor.
A floor which held the PR department, he didn’t know what made him stop the button on the third floor but he did.
Maybe it’s due to Ivan being around or it’s due to the fact that Pearl will be around a handsome hottie.
He notice some female workers starring at the first floor while whispering amongst themselves.
“What’s going on?” Jerome said behind them.
“It’s Ivan, gosh! Have only seen him in magazine but I never thought that he would be this handsome in the real fresh” The first girl replied not looking his way.
“I hope he agrees to model for us, I wanna see him as much as I can” the second girl said.
“I wonder how big he is” the third girl said having a lustful look on her face.
“Are you meant to do this during working hour?” Jerome asked.
“Who cares about work when that handsome devil is downstairs” the first girl replied.
“To hell with work” The second girl said while the third one still had a lustful look on her face.
“Then you won’t mind looking for new jobs as soon as the sun rises tomorrow?” As soon as they heard that the three girls turn, their eyes widen in shock when they saw their boss.
“Since Ivan more important than your job why don’t you just work for him” Jerome said as they all shook their head and gave him a bow.
“We are sorry sir, we didn’t mean what we said” the first girl said and at that moment, Jerome saw Pearl going off with Ivan.
“Why the hell is she going out with him?” Jerome voice out.
“She’s the newest girl in his life” the first girl said.
“From the moment, Ivan saw her, he’s been going crazy over her, he even gave her a hug a while ago” the second girl said and that got Jerome eyes widening.
“Do you know where they are going?”Jerome asked.

<< MAX’S RESIDENCE >>
A dejected looking Max got out of his car and slowly went into his apartment.
He sat on the sofa starring at the ceiling while thinking of Pearl.
He hasn’t been able to stop thinking of Pearl,just like she said, he’s beginning to regret his decision.
He had been blinded by money and power that he had failed to notice a warm hearted girl willing to love him even if he had nothing.
Is it too late or is there still a way for him to get back the girl he loves.

Jerome was seated some distancd away watching Pearl chatting happily with Ivan.
“Tch! How can she laugh at him when she’s a married woman! So much for her words last night” Jerome muttered just as a lady dressed in a short skin tight black gown approach him.
“So good to see you Romie” The lady enthuse before taking a seat.
“Well it isn’t the same for me. After how you made a mess with the last photo$h00t, am not too happy to see you, Blair” Jerome told her.
“But I already apologised, something came up and that’s why I had to leave. It all happened a year ago,stop being mad at me” Blair said softly.
“What can I do to make it up to you, I will do anything” Blair added and that pique up his interest.
“You are willing to do anything?” Jerome asked and Blair nodded immediately.

“So what do you say?” Pearl asked and instead of replying,Ivan took hold of her hand.
“Why don’t we talk about you instead,Tell me more about the new Pearl James” Ivan said and that got Pearl laughing.
She was about to reply when Blair approach them.
“Do you know that this lady here is my wife?” Blair asked shocking them all.
“What?” Ivan and Pearl said at the same time.
“She wouldn’t have told you because she’s protecting me but she’s a lesbian,actually we are a lesbian and we are planning on adopting a girl child” Blair informed.
“Have you changed taste now?” Ivan asked Pearl who shook her head.
“I don’t know who she is and am definitely not a lesbian”
“Babe,stop with the lies. I know we had a fight earlier and you thr_@tened to find a hot guy to have the night with but then no guy is as better than me, I know how to treat you right in bed” Blair said and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
“This is crazy! I think it’s best we reschedule this meeting” Ivan said, giving them both a look before leaving the restaurant.
“Who are you!” Pearl half yelled as Blair smiled at her.
“Just an actress”
“An actress?”
“I had to make it up to someone by doing this. You should ask him, he’s over there” Blair said pointing at the table Jerome was sitting.
Angrily, she went to where he was seated.
“Why did you do that?” Pearl asked.
“You said you weren’t the one dealing with him,so how come you came out to lunch with him?” Jerome asked in return.
“That’s because….Argh! There are times when you are frustrating!” She said and turn to leave but he took hold of her hand.
“Where are you going?”
“To see Ivan, it’s my job to get him to sign the contract and I will make sure I get it ” She said pulling her hand out of his and in the next minute, she found herself being lifted bodily into his arms.
“What are you doing? Put me down!” She yelled at him.
“I will be crazy if I let you go see Ivan” he replied and walk with her out of the restaurant.
The journey back home was complete silence and it wasn’t until they inside the apartment that Pearl turned to him.
“What is with you? Why are you so worked up with my seeing Ivan?” She asked.
“Am trying to protect you”
“Protecting me is not part of the contract. I can take care of myself and we borh agreed not to meddle with each other lives”
“Belive me that I really want to do that but I….” He stopped searching for words.
“But you what?”
“But I can’t seem to help it. I keep on wanting to meddle” he reply deciding to say the truth.
“Am not going to give up on Ivan case” she said with determination.
“Then he will just have to be replace”
“You don’t really mean that?”
“I do, I own King cosmetic and I can do wh@ťěver I want with it” he said looking triumphant.
“You really are infuriating!” She yelled.
“I am protective “
“I don’t need your protection! “
“Am sorry but on this one, I won’t be listening to you”Jerome said.
“Argh! You really are annoying!”
“As much as you are” He replied as she made her way to the front door.
“Let’s get a divorce”
“What?” Jerome turn to stare at her.
“You heard me. Let’s get a divorce, I will prepare the document this time” she said and left the house.
Jerome quickly ran after her saying
” You just can’t end the contract in that manner!”
He stopped talking when he saw Pearl standing still by the door way, he followed her gaze and saw his grandmother starring at them.
“Surprised? Am also surprise that am here but then what’s that about the contract? Is your marriage a fake?” she asked starring at the both of them…..
