It had been over a week and Loveth still remained unconscious. The doctor said she was in a semi-coma and there is an indefinite time for her to wake up.Michael sat beside her as he watched her face.
He suddenly felt her flinch. He thought he was imagining things and he tried touching her again.This time,she didn’t just flinch but she moved.
Michael quickly hit the emergency button and a doctor rushed in
“She moved”repeated Michael in tears.The doctor went towards her and examined her
“She will wake up in a few minutes. She will be very hungry when she wakes up so get her food make sure it is not spicy.”the doctor said to Michael and he rushed out of the ward.
He went home to make food for her by himself. It took him about two hours to finish making the food and he ran to the hospital to give it to her.
He got to the ward and heard her voice. She was talking to Brian.He dragged his feet as he got inside the ward. He was excited that she had woken up and he forgot to think about what her reaction would be if she saw him.
He got into the ward and his eyes met with her.He was expecting her to yell at him but she looked away like he was a total stranger.
His heart stung in pain but he felt like he deserved more than that.
“Hey,I brought food”said Michael as he sat beside Brian and Brian smiled while Loveth stared at him like she was just meeting him for the first time.
“Thank you so much Michael”said Brian as he collected the food from Michael.”This is yours,Loveth. Eat up quickly”said Brian as he passed the food to her and she stared at it like it was a disgusting thing.
“I don’t take food from strangers,Brian.That’s a bad habit”said Loveth as she pushed the food away.
“Strangers??Michael here is my best friend and also your friend”said Brian as he patted Michael’s back.
“Friend? I never had a male friend.”said Loveth and tears formed in Michael’s eyes.She might be doing all of it to punish him but he don’t think he could stand it anymore.
“Don’t you remember me?”said Michael as he pointed to his face.
“No I don’t. Do you worth being remembered?”asked Loveth as she folded her arms and Michael chuckled.
“Do you really not remember him?”asked Brian and Loveth nodded.
“I haven’t seen him anywhere.”said Loveth and Michael sighed.
Immediately the doctor entered smiling widely at Loveth.
“How are you feeling,miss loveth?.”asked the doctor.
“I am feeling good but I feel a slight pain in my head.”replied Loveth and the doctor sighed.
“It is normal.You hit your head when you had the accident and we had to stitch it up.”said the doctor.
“Do you think the injury in her head could cause memory loss?”asked Brian and the doctor nodded.
“We noticed a small shadow in her head. It is covering her worst memories and right now,all she remembers are good memories.Dont worry,it will all fade away in a few days so it is nothing serious.”the doctor said and Michael’s heart ached.
He was sure a part of her worst memories.He had always caused her tears within the few moments they spent with each other.
“I will leave you all alone now”the doctor as he left the ward.
“Let’s go get a drink”said Brian as he stood up.
“Who will stay with her?”asked Michael and Brian sighed.
“Go with him.Your face makes me sick.I wonder what relationship I might have had with you. Am so lucky I don’t remember it”Loveth said nonchalantly while Michael sighed sadly.
Brian and Michael sat at a nearby bar and ordered drinks.
“Don’t be sad.It is just for a few days,she will remember it all and regret saying all if that to you.”Brian said comfortingly.
“It’s okay.I guess it is payback time and I wish she never remembers me again”said Michael as he sipped his drink
“Why?”asked Brian and Michael smiled sadly
“If she remembers me then she will h@Ε₯Δ me more than she does.I am not ready for that so I think her forgetting me is for the best”said Michael
“Why will she h@Ε₯Δ you?You both were friends,right?”asked Brian
“To be honest,we weren’t friends.I met your sister through a one night stand and after then she had been all over me while I kept on ignoring her. We were supposed to meet in the day of the accident but I didn’t go”Michael paused and watched Brian’s expression but to his surprise Brian was smiling
“Why aren’t you mad at me?”asked Michael in confusion
“Didn’t you stay by her side and take care of her all this while because you felt guilty?.It must have been hard on you too.Besides aren’t you in love with her?”said Brian
“That’s a question I haven’t found an answer to”replied Michael
“No worries.Stay by her side and find the answer.Dont let go of her hand no matter how she pushes you away and when she recovers her memories try to make her forgive.Always remember that am rooting for you”said Brian as he patted Michael’s shoulder
“Thank you,Brian.”said Michael and Brian smiled still patting him on the shoulder
