“What nonsense are you spewing?” Alfred question jolted Fannie back to the present moment.
“She is your lover. The one you had dat……”
“You must be wrong!”Fannie yelled interrupting Grace.
“What do you mean wrong? I know it’s you but I can’t just figure out your na…..”
“I think you should stop right there Miss. Am not anyone lover, I only came here to….”
“Miss? Did you just refer to me as Miss. Didn’t he tell you that am his wife?”Grace asked interrupting Fannie this time.
“Ex wife. We are no longer married. What do you want? Why come here to stir up more trouble?” Alfred asked.
“Trouble? I came to see how you are and your saying I came to cause trouble?”She asked.
“Your nine months late to be asking that and I don’t need your concern” he stated harshly.
“Really? Well if you say so. I actually came here to see Sarah. Where is she?”Grace asked.
“She must be in her room somewhere”Alfred replied not knowing that Sarah has been taken away to one of her friends because it was risky to have her around.
“Then I will go to her”Grace said as she turned to leave.
“Sarah isnt here. She has been taken to her friends place for the holiday”Fannie replied.
“Holiday and why wasn’t I informed about this?”Alfred asked.
“It’s because you don’t care. You tell me you love her and your willing to take care of her but here you are enjoying the sun and having a picnic when your daughter is missing”Grace yelled at him.
“You don’t have to get angry. Sarah is in a safe place and Tiffany was the one who arranged it.”Fannie explained.
“Nonsense! That lady doesn’t have a right over my daughter. I will get her to tell me where she is and once i get her. I won’t be bringing her back here” Grace thr_@tened as she turned to leave but two guards came to pull her.
“What’s this! Let me go”She yelled at they began pulling her.
“You have no right to come in here again. You got a divorce from my brother and also relinquish your right as a mother over Sarah. So you have no right being here. Get out before the guards make you leave” Tiffany thr_@tened.
“Fine then! I will leave but this isn’t over”She said as she left the house.
“Why did you send my daughter off without consulting me about it?”Alfred asked.
“Your attitude towards life and everything was taking a toll on her. I couldn’t let her stay and watch you eat your life away and so I took her to one of her friends house”Tiffany replied knowing that this explanation is also one of the reason why she took Sarah away.
“My attitude at life doesn’t mean a thing. Bring back my daughter”Alfred said and Tiffany and Fannie gave each other a look.
“But she is….”
“Bring her back. Am getting back to things and as you can see. Am outside. Sarah won’t be a burden to me. So just bring back my daughter”He demanded and he began to use his walk stick to head back into the mansion.
“Sarah will certainly spill the whole thing”Tiffany said to her.
“I know and that is why we have to talk to her first. We can’t keep her away from Alfred. Bring her back and I will talk to her first”Fannie suggested.
Some hours later. Fannie stood in the kitchen while waiting for Sarah and Tiffany.
She had to talk to Sarah. The girl is smart enough to understand the whole situation. She thought as the kitchen door open and Sarah walked into the room with Tiffany trailing behind her.
“Pretty Fannie!”Sarah called as she ran towards Fannie who carried and showered her with a lot of kisses.
“How have you been?”Fannie asked.
“Great! I hope you will be staying forever?”Sarah asked suddenly.
“Why do you say that?”Tiffany was the one to question the little girl.
“Daddy has become different. He always smile when you were around but after the accident. He has turn into a beast”Sarah expressed childishly.
“Yes he has and that is what I want to talk to you about”Fannie said as she put Sarah on a chair while she explained the whole thing to her.
“So you are saying that I shouldn’t call you Fannie but Maddy in front of daddy?” She asked and Fannie nodded.
“You aren’t doing it for me but for your daddy “Fannie said.
“Just like in the movie. I won’t call out your name in front of daddy so it won’t harm him” Sarah said again.
“That’s right my darling. You only have to call me Maddy and nothing else. Promise me that”Fannie asked.
“I promise to always call you Maddy in front of daddy”She replied.
“Why must Sarah do that?” Alfred said Suddenly and they all turned to see him standing at the door way.
“How long have you been there?”Tiffany asked.
“Long enough to hear it all and I asked you a question. A question that needs an answer”He stated fiercely.
