“Since you want the truth, I will be straight forward with you. Working for me is an excuse I made, my real motive is that I want you by my side. I don’t know how you did it but you’ve been driving me nuts that I can’t think of anything else but you!”
“So, you owe it to me to stay by my side and give me the chance to love you!”

Amber Reyes isn’t the kind of girl people refer to as pretty or gorgeous. Your first encounter with her will make you think of her as a perfect tomboy.
And Amber preferred it that way since it doesn’t get her attention from the opposite s£x.
But all that came to an end when she meets Roland Lincoln.
Involved in a car accident, Roland had almost lost his life but Amber had saved him.

“Amber! Amber! Amber!” A girl yelled as she ran into the room looking so excited.
“What’s wrong Sarah?” Amber asked only for Sarah to pull her into a hug.
“I got it! I got it! Have been chosen to work as a substitute teacher in Lewis College” Sarah told her and on hearing that Amber rejoiced with her.
“Once I start working there, I will be able to help with the expenses and….”
“Don’t worry about that. Just focus on how you will teach those students, it’s not easy being a teacher for students from Lewis college” Amber advised.
“I know and I intend to be strict with them. Heading for work? But isn’t today your day off?” Sarah ask as she stared at her friend who is dress in her suit attire.
“It is but it turns out that we are going to be interviewed today for the role of the president body guard. You know that it’s been my dream to work as one of the president body” Amber said in excitement and that got Sarah nodding.
“I know, though am a bit scared. Working as a body guard is a risky job, each time I recieve a call about you being in the hospital, I get frighten and now, if you are chosen to work as one of the president body guard then you will be put at more risk” Sarah said worriedly.
“Don’t worry. I might get bruises and get into fights but I will always protect myself, I still have to fend for you and Liam ” Amber told her which got her sighing out sadly.
“Don’t wait up for me, I might return late” Amber informed as she quickly left the house, heading for her scooter.
A while later, Amber was driving through the hill side when her scooter derailed.
Getting off of it, she began checking it out to know what the problem is when she heard a loud bang.
A truck had rammed into a car which got the car spinning till it stop at the edge of the hill side.
Where she stood, Amber watch as the truck reverse back a little before hitting the car again making it fall down the hill.
On seeing this Amber let out a scream and when the truck and whoever was in it had driven off, she quickly cross to the other lane only to see the car down the hill.
Pulling out her phone, she called the emergency number and when that was out of the way, she went through a path which took her down the hill.
On getting to the car, she could see a man in it and quickly she ran towards it.
Luckily for her, she open the door easily.
“Hello! Can you hear me?” Amber ask the stranger but nothing came.
She began pulling at his seat belt but it wouldn’t budge. She was still pulling it when he let out a groan.
“What are you doing?” He ask unable to open his eyes due to the blood that is slowly dripping down his eyes.
“Am trying to help you! So sit still” Amber ordered and that got Roland wanting to see her face.
Never has he been spoken to in that manner and hearing her ordering him when he has always been the one doing that got him wanting to see her face.
Slowly he open his eyes and saw her focus on pulling out the seat belt.
She isn’t the sort of girl he goes for but for some obscure reason, he found her face fascinating to look at.
“I don’t think this will open, we will have to cut it off” She said starring at him and Roland couldn’t help but to notice the black spot on the tip of her nose, it gave her a cute babyish face.
“Don’t open your eyes or the blood will go into it” She said worriedly.
“I don’t care” he muttered under his breath, his gaze still fixed on her.
As long as I can keep on starring at you, I don’t care about anything else. He thought as he kept watching her intently.
“Do you have a knife or some thing? Anything we can use in cutting off the belt” she asked.
“I think you will find some thing in my bag” He answered feeling sore all over.
Amber went to the other side of the car to take his bag but the door wouldn’t open.
She was returning the driver side when she saw that the fuel tank had burst.
“This is bad. The fuel is leaking, if we don’t get away from here on time the car will explode” she said quickly.
“Then it’s best that you leave” Roland said to her too weak to do a thing.
He was expecting her to leave like he said but he was surprised when she stretch over him to pick up his bag.
Finding some thing she could use, she began to cut the belt.
“It’s risky for you to stay here! Just go” He said to her but she ignored him.
Amber successfully cut off the belt and with her help, he got out of the car on time.
They were quite far from his car when it explode behind them.
The impact of the explosion got to them and they ended up falling on the grassy floor.
“Are you okay?” Amber asked and the stranger shook his head.
“I can’t go further, just leave with out me” He said holding onto his left leg which was bloody.
“The job I do is to protect people and I don’t intend to let you get hurt further. Help me by getting up so we can get out of here together ” she said and slowly he sat up while she help him stand on his two feet.
They were almost at the hill top when she heard the siren blaring.
“Thank God they are finally here” Amber muttered as the two Paramedic took him from her.
“Are you okay?” One of the paramedic asked while the other two help the stranger on the stretcher they brought.
“I am. Just tend to him, he’s more injured” she said.
“Aren’t you coming to the hospital with us?” The paramedic asked.
“No. I need to be on my way” she answered knowing she was late for the interview already.
“Okay then. What you did today is some thing only a brave person will do ” the paramedic complimented.
“Are you leaving?” The stranger asked and that got her moving to where he layed on the stretcher.
“I am. Have done my part, it’s time for them to do theirs” she answered but he took hold of her hand.
“Can I at least know your name?” He asked.
“I doubt we will be meeting again and….”
“I still want to know” he said cutting her off.
“It’s Amber” she replied as a smile lit his face.
“It’s time for us to take him to the hospital” one offering the paramedic men said and she pulled her hand out of his leaving him feeling bereft.
“Goodbye” Amber said as she wave him off.
“This isn’t goodbye. We are going to meet again that I can assure you” he said to her.
For a while Amber stood watching the ambulance leave wondering why he felt familiar to her.
The fire men trying to put of the fire got her out of her reverie.
Heading back to her scooter, she turned it on and immediately it started, surprising her.

D.N BODYGUARD AGENCY
As soon as Amber got to her place of work, she ran into the building hoping to meet the interview but when she got to the room they were meant to use for the interview. There was no one there.
“Amber! Why didn’t you show up for the interview?” Marcos, a friend of Amber who have always watch out for her ever since her first day at the company asked as he walk towards her.
“Some thing came up” Amber replied.
“What exactly cause I know you’ve been looking up to this moment. Even the director delayed the interview hoping you’d show up but nothing” Marcos told her.
“On my way here, I ran into some one who needed help and….”
“And you threw away the chance to work as the president personal guard” Marcos let out in frustration.
“It’s just that…”
“Get back to work Marcos” A stern voice said behind them and quickly Marcos walk off leaving Amber with the director who had an angry expression on his face.
“Am really sorry Director but I…”
“You’ve been waiting for this moment. Just to get to work for the president, you’ve been training hard but you had to let it slip away” Darren admonish which got her starring at the floor.
“I know I can’t say a thing to justify myself but….”
“How did you get hurt?” Darren ask on seeing the injury in her hand.
“Oh! It must be from earlier. You don’t need to worry, it’s just a minor cut and…” She stop talking when Darren took hold of her hand.
“This isn’t a minor cut and have always told you that you are a girl and you are meant to protect your body from being scarred. What will you do if this turns into a scar?” He ask looking serious.
“Come along” he said pulling her after him but she stopped.
“I can get to the infirmary myself ” Amber said but on seeing the look he gave her, she quietly followed.

^ HOSPITAL^
“Boss! Boss! I heard about what happen. Are you okay?” James, Roland personal assistant came running into the room.
“Am fine. So stop over reacting” Roland snap at him.
“That’s a relief. I told you not to visit Mr Gregor today but you chose not to listen to me” James admonish.
“I had to change his mind and the accident…it was deliberate ” Roland told him.
“Really? Who could want to ki|| you?” James asked.
“I don’t know. Have got a lot of enemies after all”
“Do you want me to investigate this?” James ask.
“No. Not for now cause you’ve got some thing else to do ” Roland said a smile appearing on his face.
“I want you to help me look for a girl called Amber”
“How can you be talking about one of your girlfriends when you are still in the hospital?” James ask softly.
“Dummy! Amber isn’t my girlfriend. She’s the one who saved me” Roland replied hotly.
“Oh! Really? Well I will help you look for her” James said as he pull out his note pad to write it down.
“Make sure you find her” Roland said to him when he turn to leave.
“Do you intend to compensate her, sir?” James asked.
“No. I intend to marry her” Roland replied with a smile on his face.
