CHAPTER 17&18

🍒TIMI🍒

I stared at him, trying to process what he had just said. Was he joking or being serious?

“I don’t understand why you’re asking me this question,” I replied, feeling a mixture of confusion and irritation.

“I just wanted to clarify something because it seems like you’re exhibiting the behavior you labeled on my girlfriend,” he continued, his words making my frown deepen.

“Excuse me?” I retorted, taken aback by his accusation.

“Yeah, a wh-_-re. I saw you and Kelvin kissing, and you aren’t even dating, so… that means you’re a wh-_-re,” he stated matter-of-factly.

“Are you stupid or out of your mind? What nonsense are you spouting? Did you see me kiss him? He was the one who pecked me on the lips without my consent. What’s wrong with you?” I burst out, my annoyance bubbling over.

“Exactly what a wh-_-re would say,” he responded plainly.

“You know what? Screw you. Do wh@ťěver you want with your boring life in Nigeria. It’s none of my business,” I snapped.

“Boring life? We all know you’re the one with the boring life here,” he countered.

“I can make it interesting if I want to tonight,” I shot back, a surge of defiance coursing through me.

“Very funny. You? I’m sure you’re not even going to the party,” he scoffed, catching me off guard.

“Says who? Kelvin invited me, so… I’m going,” I declared, determination in my voice.

~~~~~~~
“So, are you enjoying this?” I asked Kelvin, who nodded with a smile. When I told him I was coming to the party, he was ecstatic.
“Yes, the fun part hasn’t even started,” he said, beaming. I knew I shouldn’t find his smile charming, but I couldn’t help it.
“Let’s dance,” he said, extending his hand, waiting for my acceptance.
“No, thank you,” I replied, smiling.
“As much as your smile is charming, I really want to dance with you,” he persisted.
“What kind of dance?” I asked.
“Just a good dance,” he replied.
“Something like grinding on your crotch?” I quipped, looking at him.
“No, not like that, but something similar, though that’s not what I had in mind,” he explained, nodding.
“Do you want to dance with me?” he asked again, this time more seriously. I hesitated before nodding.
“Thanks,” he said, taking my hand.
“You’re going to enjoy this, I promise,” he assured me as we walked over to where most people were already dancing. The party was mostly for our class, but some juniors who were dating seniors also came. Not surprising.
“Turn around,” Kelvin instructed, leaving me speechless. I complied, and soon I felt him move closer, his hands on my waist as he danced behind me, just as I predicted. But I stayed still.
“Move, Timi,” he whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
“I can’t,” I replied.
“Just move with the song,” he urged. As I listened to the music, “Under the Influence” by Chris Brown playing, I began to sway to the rhythm. I didn’t even realize when I started grinding against Kelvin’s crotch.
It was surprisingly fun, and I couldn’t help but laugh when he joined in. It felt wrong to be enjoying myself like this.
After dancing, we were both exhausted and needed to rest.
“That was the best dance I’ve had with any girl,” Kelvin said, smiling.
“Yeah, it wasn’t too bad with you either,” I replied, smiling back.
“See, I told you it wouldn’t be that bad,” he said, sighing.
“You’re very beautiful,” he said out of the blue, making me look at him weirdly before smiling proudly.
“I know,” I replied, making him laugh.
“Can you not be proud all the time?” he asked, still chuckling.
“Not possible,” I said, laughing along with him.
” ATTENTION,” the music stopped, and a girl stood in the center of the house trying to capture everybody’s attention.
” So, you all know in every party, especially for teenagers like us, we have to play truth or dare,” she announced, eliciting cheers from most of the crowd. That totally threw me off.
” If you don’t want to participate, you can leave,” she added, and a few people took her up on the offer.
” Let’s go,” Kelvin said, holding my hand, but I declined.
” I came to the party, danced, and now Truth or Dare? No, Kelvin, no,” I replied, removing my hands from his. He sighed and sat beside me.
” I’m not playing if you’re not,” he said.
” Why? The game practically encourages you to do nonsense with other people, so why should I join? Do you want me to kiss some boy?” I teased.
” No, I’d rather drink four bottles of alcohol than allow that,” he joked, making me laugh.
” So, if we do join, you’ll have to kiss some girl, and why would I want that?” I asked, making him smile.
” So you want me to kiss another girl?” he asked, looking surprised.
” Don’t get ahead of yourself. Do you think if you kiss another girl in front of me, I would even consider your proposal?” I retorted.
” You’re considering it?” he asked, surprised.
” Maybe,” I said, teasingly. He gasped before smiling widely.
” My prayers might as well be coming to pass. I think I found favor in the eyes of the Lord this year,” he joked.
” Let’s play,” I said, pointing to where some people were already gathering.
” We don’t have to if you don’t want to,” he said.
” No, it’s okay,” I replied, and he smiled. We walked over to where some people were waiting for the game to start, and we all sat on the floor around a bottle placed at the center.
” Thank you all for cooperating. The rules are simple: four truths, then unlimited dares to make it fun,” the girl explained, smiling.
” Also, no truth or dare will lead you to drink ten glasses of water in fifteen seconds. If you can’t finish it, you have to do the dare, or maybe the person you’re paired with will back out. That only applies to dares; for truth, nobody can save you,” she clarified, and everyone nodded in understanding.
” And also, anybody can dare you, as far as you fall, you become the victim,” she added.
” Now, let’s start,” she declared, spinning the bottle, which landed on a girl.
” Truth or dare?” a guy asked her.
“To be honest, I only know like four people in my school. I might have seen you, but I wouldn’t know your name. So, these people, I don’t talk to them or even know their names.”
“Truth,” she said, smiling.
“Is it true that you like me?” he asked her. Okay… this is boring.
“Yes,” she said. Kinda cute, but… toor.
After passing around the bottles, it finally landed on one of my favorite couples. You all know who it is. DERA. Yes, it landed on her. And the girl chose dare.
“I dare you to kiss Andrew,” a girl asked, and I swear Dera didn’t even hesitate before going in for a French kiss with Andrew. I laughed in my heart because of the look on Atlas’s face. I wanted to see that all over again. Hahahahhaha. She went back to her seat. I could even see how Atlas was looking at her. He was pissed, but she said something to him that made him smile. Nonsense couples.
The bottle then landed on Dera again, and she again chose dare.
“I dare you to give Kelvin a good lap dance,” wait, which Kelvin, my own Kelvin? She didn’t even hesitate to stand up from her seat.
“No,” Kelvin said, making me smile almost immediately.
“Okay, Kelvin’s reply is no, so Dera, you were rejected,” she said, making Dera scoff before sitting back down.
Lots more before it landed on Atlas, wow, perfect. And dare, he said.
“I dare you to kiss Timi,” the girl said. Kiss who? Me? LOL. I could see that Atlas was about to stand up from the floor.
“No,” I said almost immediately.
Atlas exclaimed, “No?”
“Yeah, no,” I said.
“Wh@ťěver,” he muttered before returning to his seat. Okay, that was weird.
The bottle then landed on me. Oh boy.
“Truth or dare?” the girl asked.
“Truth,” I said.
“I’ll ask,” Dera said, standing up with a smirk.
“Is it true that you were R@P£D by your boyfriend when you were 14?” she asked, almost making me grimace. Was she seriously bringing this up here?
“You act like a Ɓîtçh most of the time,” I retorted, standing up to confront her.
“It’s just a question, girl,” she chuckled.
“You find this amusing?” I shot back, stepping closer to her.
“Haha, of course. You were R@P£D by your own boyfriend, how does it feel? Did it hurt or…” She didn’t finish her sentence before I delivered a sharp slap. Gasps filled the room as Kelvin rushed to my side, while Atlas went to comfort Dera, who wore a fake expression of hurt.
“You don’t have the right to hit my girlfriend,” Atlas said, Dera still holding her face.
“And your girlfriend doesn’t have the right to dig into mine past,” Kelvin interjected, causing another round of gasps. Okay, he just referred to me as his girlfriend. How delightful (note the sarcasm).
“But it’s still the truth,” Atlas insisted, embracing Dera as she pretended to cry.
“Let’s go,” Kelvin suggested, and I nodded in agreement.
“Next time, spout nonsense, and I’ll personally teach you a lesson,” I warned Dera before leaving with Kelvin.
“I’m sorry about what happened today,” Kelvin said as we reached my house.
“It’s okay,” I assured him, seeing a smile grace his face.
“Did you enjoy it?” he inquired, still smiling.
“Yeah, until she ruined it,” I replied, and he nodded in understanding.
“She got what she deserved. You feeling better now?” he asked, and I nodded affirmatively.
“Goodbye,” he bid, heading to his car.
“Wait,” I called out, stepping closer to him.
“Would you like…” I cut him short with a kiss. He seemed taken aback but reciprocated immediately. It was a brief kiss, but it felt amazing and I liked it.
“Thank you,” I whispered before running into my house.
