Louis leaned in more closer and then softly pressed his lips on hers. Sapphire held on tightly to his dress.
All these just seem like a dream to her. If it’s a dream then she wished it last a little bit longer.
Louis bit her lips, prompting her to open up in which she did. Louis held on to her waist pulling her closer.
Minutes later, they both broke the kiss in order to catch their breaths. Sapphire looked down in embarrassment. Well this was kinda her first kiss!
Louis lifted up her head through her chin and then kissed her forehead.
“Don’t be shy. Okay?” He said with a smile on his lips.
He held her hand and pressed it on his chest. Sapphire ached her brow…
“Your heart is beating really fast” She said.
Louis chuckled…
“That’s how I feel each time I’m around you. Sapphire I know its too sudden and all the rest but within this short while that I’ve known you I saw you’re a cool person and I’ve learned to love you” Louis said and kissed her hand.
Sapphire just stood there staring at him with her mouth parted. Is he serious or what??
“I can’t take I any longer so I’m gonna ask you right now. Will you be my girlfriend? I promise I’ll shower you with love and many other things you deserve” He said.
Sapphire stared at him. She was gobsmacked!
“Please say something. I understand you’ll refuse, I won’t be angry or any other things. All I want for you is that sincere truth” Louis said.
Sapphire blinked her eyes back to reality.
“Louis, to be honest with you. I very much do like you and I never expected you felt the same way for me. All these just sounds like a dream to me and I’m afraid I’ll wake up but nevertheless, I will very much be glad to be your girlfriend” She said.
Louis smiled happily….
“Is it a yes?” He asked..
Sapphire smiled too.
“It’s a yes!” She said loudly…
Louis immediately hugged her tightly. She rested her head on his shoulder as she Inhaled his scent.
“I love you” Sapphire said.

Derek parked his car and got down then marched in his house.
“Welcome back Sir” A maid greeted.
He glared at her and walked pass her. He went upstairs and locked the door of his room once he got in.
He removed his coat and tossed to one corner of the room. He also removed his shoes then unbuttoned his white shirt.
He knelt down in front of a cupboard and opened the last drawer at the bottom. He brought out a box and dusted it then placed it on his laps and say down on the floor.
He opened it and brought out some pictures from it. Well no one needs to know it’s some pictures of his mother.
His mind immediately drifted 17 years back, when he was 10 years

Derek could be seen sitting by his mother as she stroke his hair gently.
“Derek, you and Louis are the two most precious people in my life. Just look at how cute you two are” Kyra said and pinched Derek’s cheek.
“Mom, I’m not a baby any longer” Derek said and pouted as she kissed his cheek.
Kyra chuckled. She ached her brow…
“Where’s Louis?” She asked.
“Well, he’s with dad” Derek said.
Well the two brothers have a distinct way of behaving. Derek really do love being with his mother more than his father while Louis loves his father more. He doesn’t h@ťě his father but he just prefers his mother’s company same as Louis towards their father.
Derek stood up as he heard his favorite song. The ice cream truck was surely at the corner.
“Ice cream!!” He exclaimed and turned to Kyra. He made his best puppy eyes.
“Mom…”
“Here, go get yourself some ice cream. Buy mine too” Kyra said and handed him some money.
He kissed his mother on the cheek and then began running downstairs.
“Be careful!!” Kyra said but he was already far away.
He ran past the maids in their house and then out of the house then opened the gate. As if the truck knew he was coming, it stopped in front of his house.
The man smiled at him.
“What do you want my boy?” He asked.
“I want two ice creams please. Strawberry and chocolate” He said. Chocolate was his favorite flavor while strawberry was his mom’s.
The man handed it to him and he paid him before walking in the house. He began licking his while going upstairs.
Using his butt, he pushed the door open and walked in. The ice cream fell from his hands as he saw the most traumatizing thing a child could see.
He saw his mother laying lifelessly on her own pool of blood with a knife in her hand.
“Mom!!” He screamed as he ran towards her in tears. He picked up the knife and looked at it in confusion. Why will his mother commit suicide? Why??
The door immediately swung open and Santiago and Louis walked in. They stopped as they saw the most shocking view of their lifes.
“Derek, what have you done!!!” Santiago screamed.
Derek threw the knife away and looked up at his father. He shook his head in tears.
“No, I’m not the one. I didn’t do it!” He said while panicking.

Derek placed back the pictures and kept it in the drawer then locked it back.
He could still the remember the degree of beatings he received on that day. His father beat him mercilessly. Louis didn’t talk to him for almost a year, Louis was scared of him.
Santiago went to the extent of locking him up for two days without food. He became a subject of terror and criticism. Kids of his age were all scared of him, some despised him. He had no friends when he was a kid!
Derek shrugged all those thoughts away and stood up but still the memories kept banging in his head.
He hit his hand on the wall in anger. The part that hurt him the most is that no one believed him, everyone thought he ki||ed his mother. Everyone blamed him.

Louis parked his car in front of Sapphire house. She got down, same as him.
“Well, I guess that’s a goodnight” She said and tugged her hair behind her ear.
Louis held her waist and pulled her closer then kissed her briefly before releasing her.
“Goodnight” He said.
She smiled and waved at him. He got into his car and then drove off.
Sapphire turned to enter but almost screamed as she saw Fabian standing in front of the door with his hands in his pocket.
He stared at her for some minutes before walking in the house.
Sapphire released her breath that she didn’t know she was holding. She shook her head. Definitely she doesn’t understand her father.
She shrugged and walked in the house then went upstairs to her room.
ONE MONTH LATER?
“Thanks so much doctor Valdez. You saved my daughter’s life” A woman thanked Sapphire.
“It’s no big deal. I just did what I had to do” She replied and bored then walked away.
She entered an office that was created for her. She then walked up to a hanger then removed her coat and hung it there before sitting down.
Well it’s been one month she’s working with Yolanda and honestly she’s a really huge help to them.
Her phone began ringing and she smiled as she saw who it was.
“Love?” She said.
“Princess, I’m outside. Hope you haven’t forgotten about our lunch” Louis said.
“Alright, I’ll be down in a jiffy” She replied and hung up then stood up and picked up her purse before walking out of her office.
She took the elevator which took her to the last floor. She walked out of it as it opened and replied cheerfully to the greeting of the nurses she came across.
Louis looked up as she saw her walking towards his car. She opened it and entered then pecked him on the lips.
“Missed you” Louis said.
Sapphire giggled…
“Come on, we last saw Each other just some hours ago” She said and buckled her seatbelt.
“Where shall we eat?” Louis asked.
“Your choice” Sapphire said with a smile on her lips.
“Okay” He replied and drove off.

Santiago got down his car and almost immediately, his guards fleeted round him. He began walking gallantly into the company.
The workers greeted him with utmost respect. Well he was the chairman after all.
He walked into Derek’s office without knocking which made Derek to lookup.
“What do you want now old man” He said with a boring look on his face.
“Well just came to see how my company is working and also to know if you’ve thought about my proposition.” Santiago asked and sat down.
“Listen, let it be clear to you. I’m never gonna get married. Stick it into your thick skull and also why do you want me to get married” Derek asked.
“I need grandkids” Santiago said.
“Well as far as I know I’m not your only son. Go and see Louis and let me be” He said.
The door opened slightly which made them divert their attention to the door.
Fabian walked in and was surprised to see them especially Santiago. As far as he knows he rarely comes to the company.
“I’m sorry to interrupt your discussion. I’m here to deposit the files you asked me of” Fabian said and walked up Derek then Handed him some documents. He owed and then walked out of the office.
“I think you should leave too. I have some work to attend to” Derek said.
Santiago stood up in disappointment.
“I hope you think about it again” He said and walked out of the office.
Derek hissed and concentrated back on his work.
Santiago entered his car and the driver almost drove off but stopped as someone knocked on the window of his car.
“I’m sorry to disturb you sir but I have an offer to make” Fabian said.
Santiago looked at him and then opened the car door.
“Get in” He said.
Fabian nodded and entered the car.
“I’m sorry but I couldn’t help but eavesdrop on your discussion earlier. I heard you were looking for a suitor to your son and I would like to propose my daughter to you. She’s very kind and humble” Fabian said.
Santiago looked at him with a scrutinizing gaze.
“Do you Have her picture?” Santiago asked.
Fabian bought out his phone and went to his gallery. He stopped on Sapphire picture and then showed it to him.
Santiago took his phone and looked at the picture. A smile curved up his lips.
“She’s pretty,” He said
Fabian smirked secretly..
Bingo! He said inwardly.
