?Ryan POV
After calling Layla, I began to do some office works then I heard my phone ringing. It was mom and I wonder why she is calling me. I picked the call and I can hear some whispers in the background.
“Hello mom, why did you call? Am busy now”. I said
“Oh stop that Ryan, don’t give me that silly excuse. Your father and I wants you to eat lunch with us and I have prepared a lot of food. Can you come over now?” She said excitedly
“But mom, I just told you that am busy, try to understand me” I replied
“Oh did you remember I carried you in my womb for nine months, I can’t believe my baby has grown wings that he now ignores his lovely mother” She said and I heard her sniffling.
Mom can be so dramatic at times. I sighed.
“Okay mom, I will call but can you stop calling me baby please. Am 24 for crying out loud” I said and I can hear her laughing in the background.
“Say what you want Ryan, you are still my baby for life” She said and she hurriedly hang up.
I sighed and was about to continue my work when the door opened and my evil twin sisters ran in and they hugged me so tight that I can hardly breath.
“Stop,stop, you guys are choking me” I said and they released me while I began to cough.
“Big brother, you are such a ki||er joy” Julieta said and they both burst into laughter
“Ryan, what is wrong with you? You look tired and stressed out. Are you okay?” Juliet asked.
“Yeah am fine, just tired because I have a lot of work piled up” I replied and they looked at me with concern then the suddenly burst into laughter. I know they are up to something.
“Oh my poor Ryan is tired and he looks like a 70 years old man, he looks older than his age. Julieta I think we should help him” Juliet said and she winked at her twin.
Oh no, I better stop them because I know what they are both capable of doing
“It is alright guys, am fine. I don’t need your wicked and evil help. Now tell me what you are doing here. I said to them and they immediately stood up and walked towards my chair, I also stood up because I don’t want to be caught unaware I don’t know what this two witches are up to.
“Mom asked us to come and get you because she knows you might not cone for lunch” Julieta said
“But I told her that I would come, mom can be so dramatic at times” I replied
“Now get up and follow us ni need to argue lazy @zz” Juliet said and I immediately stood up.
“But can you guys give me hint on why mom wants to see me please?” I begged and they both smiled and began to whisper to each other.
“Fine we would tell you on a condition” Julieta said and I almost regretted asking them in the first place.
“Alright tell me the condition” I told them.
“CHANGE OUR CARS!!!!!!!” they both screamed and I slumped on my chair. How can I handle them.
“I would do as you requested, now tell me” I said in a frustrated tone
“Mom and dad wants to matchmake you with the governor’s daughter” Juliet said and I felt shocked. How can they do this.
?Layla Pov?
I got to the lab and I alighted from the car. I rushed inside and I saw a nurse on duty. I told her that I want to see the doctor and I was directed to him. When I got to the doctor’s office I was told to wait and after some minutes I was attended to. I handed the bottled substance to the doctor and after some time he came back.
“Madam where did you get that substance from?” He asked me and I told him that I was given by a friend.
“This is a very poisonous substance madam, I hope you haven’t used it?”he asked me
“What is its effect?” I asked
“It is capable of ki||ing you and if you use this your womb would be destroyed then your intestines would rotten and you will die” he said and I stared at him in shock.
I can’t believe that Stephanie can do this to me, I trusted her but she betrayed me. I thanked the doctor and I left his office.
I entered my car and tears began to stream my face as I recalled the doctor’s words, I can’t believe I almost use that. The driver began to drive while he occasionally glance at me with concern but I ignored him and continue to cry.
