…. I arrived at the head office of Benin,I asked to see the boss,I pleaded with him to look into my case and temper justice with mercy,i pleaded with him how much I needed the job,then he finally spoke, although I didn’t know you one on one,but I have heard so very much about your professionalism and expertise,and great deals you secured for the bank in Lagos, nevertheless the power to reassign you is not in my hands,but the boss of all bosses in Lagos.He asked me to meet with him,and maybe he might reconsider…I thanked him for his time and went back home.
Getting home,I met the two love birds outside, although I was having a bad day,I had to compose myself and walked inside to iye like the queen I am.she was busy in the kitchen,how did it go,she asked,not too good iye,oh not too good,that means,there is a little goodness,oya tell me,gist,tell me everything ,,well mom,the boss said his hands are tied, nevertheless,he said I have been a very good asset to the bank, that I should give a try,and travel to Lagos,to see the CEO,maybe by chance I can be reemployed…
Then why are you acting like the world has come to an end,don’t worry my child,you shall travel to Lagos tomorrow and meet with the CEO….iye tomorrow is Friday,and he’s most likely not to be around,okay then no problem, Monday it is then…..
Iye was done with the cooking,and we ate,even though I was hurt by my husband’s and friend’s betrayal I had a mother in iye,who I would say understood me,more than my own biologica motherl, indeed everyone has a good side,it may take a little time to get it activated,but with faith, kindness and prayers it sure will.
That evening,I was feeling a little cold,and I decided to boil water to bath,the water had boiled,I went to off my clothes,before I got back,the water was no longer there,when I inquired,I found out Sandra was in the bathroom with the water,why would you use my water Sandra,I inquired when she came out,only for her to insult the living daylight out of me,Edos came and joined her,,he didn’t fail to remind me of my inability to get pregnant the past two years and some months,Edos you will not insult me nor call me such names,you didn’t even ask what the matter was ,but you took sides already,,,,I am a fruitful woman,and I know that because God had told me so,and as for you,I have decided to let you be,I leave you with God the maker, one thing is sure,you two shall be pay in your own coin,rubbish….
Soon it was sunday,and I was dressed for Lagos I wanted to leave before Monday,to enable me make it early to the office.
I was well dressed,in trousers,I was looking very smart and superb,.I came out with my small travelling bag,as I was about walking out of the house, Edos came to me and asked where I was going,excuse me, who are you talking to,Ama I am your husband,and I have every right to know where you are going,well that right died the moment you broke your marital vows to me,I owe you no explanation,and don’t you dare block me,iye where is she going,he asked iye,I am not your wife,so don’t ask me that.my child,I pray all goes well,and may you find favour with him,Him,an him,what man is my wife visiting, Edos was asking with all seriousness, apparently this man loves me, I thought.iye hugged me and wished me journey mercies.
I arrived Lagos successfully,all thanks to God,,,,,,Monday very early,I had arrived the boss’s office, I still knew some staffs,the boss later came,and I was able to talk to him,I pleaded to be more effective and diligent,he promised to think about the whole thing and that he was going to get back to me,while I was leaving,i saw one of the customers i had brought to the bank,he was very happy to see me,,we exchanged pleasantries,,I left for Benin by Tuesday,iye was very happy to see me back home,,I told her everything,and how the , CEO had promised to get back to me.iye encouraged me,and told me not to worry that,the CEO was going to call me for good.
It’s been months,and the CEO had not called,I had given up on that, but iye didn’t, Sandra’s baby bump was growing by the day,It was as if I was married to iye,while Sandra and Edos were the real couple,as a woman I sometimes get jealous,it’s not easy seeing another woman in the hands of the one we love, especially if that man happens to be ones husband,but I was able to pull through with prayers and with the help of iye.
Months on,when Sandra was almost due for delivering,she said she was going to her mother’s house,she wanted to have her child there.After two days,three men came to the house,with some policemen asking us out, claiming ownership,that the house had been sold to them by Sandra….
