AHANA’S POV
It’s been entire 2 days that Ansh is not speaking to me. He is always there by my side but it is like he isn’t with me.
No matter how hard I try to lure him he’s adamant. No morning kisses, no good night pecks, nothing. I never thought that he had such a stubborn side. He has to accept it. The sooner he does that the better it will be for us to live happily. I have accepted it, and he has to do it too.
I don’t understand why he isn’t he supporting me. I want to have some good positive moments with him.
Although it’s past midnight I am not able to sleep, even after lot of twisting and turning. Ansh is fast asleep facing the other side of the bed. I’m having those weird cravings again. I want to desperately have Kulfi Ice-cream. I slowly stepped down the bed. I think we have some in our refrigerator. I tip toed out of our room glancing at Ansh for a while. Ansh was managing everything on his own. From the company to the house. I don’t want to disturb him. He’s definitely exhausted.
It was pitch dark downstairs as I carefully made my way to the kitchen, slowly as I was all round and heavy now. The only light was the one coming from the freezer. But unfortunately I didn’t find any Kulfi. Someone must have eaten it. And unluckily there wasn’t any other variety of Ice cream too. All I found was a tray of ice cubes.
” Craving for something, wify?” A husky familiar voice startled me.
” Gosh!! Ansh… When will you stop scaring me?” I said switching the dim lights.
” Hmmm… And when will you consider me as your husband?” He said folding his hands.
” Huh!!”
” You should wake me up if you wanted something.”
” Well, I’m not a cruel person who will wake her peacefully sleeping husband just because I wanted to have a Kulfi. And anyways I thought you were upset with me.” I said making a puppy face.
At once he came towards me and cupped my face in his palms and crashed his lips on mine. I had tasted them after two long days. I closed my eyes as a Mõ@ɲ left my throat. I wrapped my hands around his neck and he lifted me up making me sit on the kitchen counter. Slowly bitting my lower lip followed by the upper one. I responded with equal vigour. One of my hands waa moving through his silky hair while the other one was firm on his bare shoulder. He was only in his vest. Leaving my lips he made his way through my cheeks and then to my neck leaving a love mark their. He wiped my falling tears with his thumb and captured my lips again.
” I’m sorry… Ahana… I love you…” He said between our hot wet kisses.
” I love you too….” I replied kissing him harder. After we both couldn’t breath we stopped finally, panting.
” I think we couldn’t stop our morning kisses ever… ” He said making me laugh.
” Yeah!! I agree…”
” Okay! So… Tell me. What are you craving for tonight?”
” Kulfi….” I beamed with joy.
” Good choice but let’s see where can we find it at this hour? Shall we? ” He asked my hand.
I gave him a hug and we set out for our Kulfi Hunt.
” Ansh!!” I called him when he was about to take the car keys.
” Hmmm… ”
” Can we go in the Maserati?” I asked.
He looked at me in shock.
” Why are you gaping like this? I hope you didn’t sell it.”
” What… No.. I didn’t sell it. And I wasn’t aware you liked it.” He replied.
” I liked it from the very beginning. I am a car drooler. I just hope that it is still in working condition. I know you haven’t used it since a year and a half.”
” Well, That’s true. But Dad used it sometimes. Anyways let’s go. I’m dying to drive it.” He said smiling and pulling me towards the garage.
” Oh!! My Love… ” He said touching the car.
” Ansh!! Like seriously? ”
” I missed her so much… ”
” Yup!! You did miss your dear car a lot. So, I shall give you all the privacy with it. You spend the night here itself while I’m on my own.” I said turning around.
” Hey!! Sweetheart….” He pulled and trapped me, giving me light feather kisses on my cheeks which I ignored.
” I was just getting a bit emotional. And it’s ours, right? ”
” Okay! Stop making a puppy face. We need to find a someone who is selling us Kulfis at this hour.” I said.
” Yeah!!”
Both of us jumped in the car and sped off to search. After about half hour of search all we found was empty deserted streets.
” Gosh!! Ahana… I’m so sorry. I don’t think we will find someone. ”
” But… Ansh I really want to have it. No matter what. I won’t be able to sleep.” I said
” Fine!! When I was a kid Dad used to bring me here to have Ice cream. Later, it was Mir and my meeting joint. A man used to sell Kulfi but as I wasn’t a Kulfi fan I never had one. But Mir used to have it always and it was delicious is what he said. Let’s see if we can find a him. ” Ansh said driving us to the junction.
There was dead silence around.
” Stay here… ” He said getting down from the car.
I saw him going to a small shop which had its shutter down. He was banging on it. At once I was worried about what was happening just because of my craving.
It wasn’t a good idea, I thought.
A while later I saw Ansh signalling me to come out of the car.
” Ahana, C’mon he has finally agreed.” I heard him shout.
I got down from the car and rushed towards him. It wasn’t that warm or that cold. The spring was doing good and giving a lot of calmness.
” Ansh!! Really?” I said excited.
” Yeah!! After a lot of begging which I did for the first time he has decided to treat us with… Hmmmm… Wh@ťěver you like.” He smiled.
” Wow!! I’m already hungry now.” I clapped.
” Sir, Mam… What flavours would you like?” A short bald man came out of the half open shop rubbing his eyes. I felt a bit pity for him now.
” Ahana? ”
” Can we have all of them? I can’t decide and I don’t know what will the babies like.” I said looking at Ansh. He was gaping at me.
” Fine!! Only if you don’t catch cold.”
” Hey!! Ssshhh!! Don’t say anything like that. Look, around. It’s summer. Everyone enjoys ice-creams in summer.”
” Okay! Excuse me, bring all of them. ” Ansh said.
There was a huge smile on my face. It’s really lucky if there’s a person who loves you so much in the world.
” I love you… ” I said promptly kissing his cheeks.
” Huh!” He was surprised.
” Ahana… If that was for the Ice creams then remember, it was a nice try. It’s only for today. You aren’t getting Ice-creams daily.”
” Ahh!! That was so mean. I am telling you that I love you and this is what you reply instead of saying I love you too. Now I don’t want to have it. Let’s go home. ” I said standing up and moving towards the car.
” Hey!! Ahana… I worked so hard to convince him. Don’t do this. ” He pulled me back.
I glared at him.
” Good for you. But I don’t want. ”
” Oiii… I was just messing with you sweetie. Of course I love you… There’s so much in here that I am afraid that someday it will burst out of love. ” He said laughing as well as pointing to his heart.
” Well, That wasn’t funny at all. ” I replied.
” Hey!! Did you guys change your mind?” The man shouted. He had two plates full of kulfi in his hand.
” You bet we did… ” I replied going straight to him.
” Hey! I thought you didn’t want to eat it.”
” Ansh! You are such a sweetheart. At no cost I was going to let your efforts go in waste.” I said taking a big bite.
” Hmmm… It’s awesome. Thanks… ” I said to the person.
” I’m really sorry for the trouble. ” I told him.
” No issue Miss. Even my wife had a lot of cravings like you when she was pregnant. I definitely had a hard time coping it. I know the pain. ” He replied.
” Sure, you did buddy. Thanks…” Ansh said promptly.
After like it felt we ate for hours we thanked him for his service. Ansh gave him a good tip and we were on our way back.
” That was a night worth remembering. And I must say I like your car. I will like to travel in this more often.” I said. I know it would make him feel better.
” Really!!”
” Yup…”
At once he pecked me on my lips.
” Ansh!! Look Ahead…”
It was a great night out. We had fun.
ANSH’S POV
I had to go to the office today. There was an important conference meeting with the board of directors. I wanted to postponed it but Ahana insisted that work can’t be neglected. As soon as I finished it I was on my way back to the house.
On the way I picked up Ahana’s favourite pastries.
When I entered through the main door I could hear a lot of voices.
” Dad!! C’mon say something…” I heard Ahana’s voice. I slowly crept and saw what was the commotion all about.
Ahana had a camera in her hand and Dad and grandad were standing in front of her holding stuff toys.
God! What are they up to?
I don’t think those crazy guys noticed my presence. I kept my things on the dinning table and went closer.
” Fine!! I will show you… Hold this.” Ahana said taking the Teddy.
” Hi! My Sweet Angels…
I’m your Mumma….” She said in a bubbly tone giving flying kisses. I smiled at that gesture.
” I love you a lot… Here say Hi.. To grandpa and great grandpa… ”
” Hey! I don’t wanna be called great grandpa. I’m so cool with pa…. ” Grandad said.
” Okay!! Here’s your grandpa and pa. Don’t trouble them much…” She said and at once I understood what was she upto.
Ahana turned around and her eyes met mine.
” Hey!! Your Papa is back. Ansh!! Say something… Real Quick. ” She said coming towards me.
” Kids!! Be good to your Papa… ” She smiled.
” Ahana!! What the hell are you upto?” I shouted snatching the camera from her.
” Ansh!! What happened? Why are you so weird ? ”
” Am I weird? You can fool them but not me. I am not stupid. What’s all this? ” I shouted.
Dad and grandad came closer now.
” Ansh!! What are you saying? We are just filming a short video. ” I could see the tears in her eyes now.
” Ahana! I now why you are doing this. ” Saying so I threw the camera on the ground and it broke.
” Ansh!! What the hell are you doing? ” Dad said angrily.
” Dad!! Stay out of it.” I said with equal anger.
Ahana was still looking at the broken camera. Her tears were freely falling down now.
” Ansh!! Why did you do that?” Grandad said.
” You guys don’t know anything.” I said.
” Then EXPLAIN!!” Dad said in a furious tone.
Ahana looked at me once with her red tear struck eyes and left. I made her cry, again.
” Ahana!! Wait… I’m sorry on his behalf. ” Dad shouted. But she didn’t look back.
Taking the broken camera I saw on the sofa. Dad and grandad came towards me.
” What the hell was that Ansh… We were doing that for the kids’ and you ruined all the fun. Don’t you want her to be happy?” Dad said.
” Dad!! I want her to be happy. See, I brought her favourite pastries too.” I said pointing to the bag.
” But bringing them won’t help, right? You need to keep her happy with your behaviour also. I don’t know what is off behind you too but please tell us if it’s important. ” Grandad said looking at me.
But I had already promised Ahana that it’s a secret between us.
” It’s nothing. I will apologise. You guys can sleep. ” I said taking the pastries to my room.
The lights were already dim and Ahana was in the bed, facing towards the window. I know she is awake. Just to show that I was upset I went for a shower. I came back quickly and crept in the duvet. I moved towards her and she pulled the cover to her side feeling my presence. I knew she wouldn’t sleep so early.
I saw her wet cheeks and cleaned them.
” Ahana!!”
” Ansh… I’m asleep.?” She said hastily.
” Well, that’s not what I see Ahana. Look, I have brought your favourite pastries. C’mon, let’s eat together.”
” I’m not hungry.” She said sniffing.
I kissed her forehead and wiped her cheeks. She pulled hand in hers. I cuddled and slept back hugging her.
” Ahana!! I know it’s difficult for both of us. But I want you to believe me that I won’t let anything happen to you. I know why were you making that video. You wanted the kids to know you, but trust me you will make it…
Please. You have to make it for me at least. I can’t breathe without you. ” As soon as I said that she turned and hugged me tightly, engulfing her face in my chest.
I rubbed her back to calm her. She didn’t say a word.
Let the silence calm us and then in each other’s embrace we slept.

” Hey! Sleepy Head… Get up… Piya and Zara are on their way here. ” I called Ahana.
” What? “She asked rubbing her eyes.
” They called about 15 minutes ago. They want you to accompany them for shopping. Get ready… ”
” Are you serious? But I don’t want to go. And aren’t you going to the office? ” She asked looking at my casual attire.
” Nah!! I am working from home. Don’t upset them Ahana. Anyways Mir along with little champ and Jaai are coming at our house. It’s like boy’s day in the house and girls day out. ” I said smiling.
” Oh! I don’t know why I find it fishy… ”
” Hey! Sherlock Holmes… Why don’t you take a bath and get ready first?”
” Fine!! ” She grunted.
In an hour everyone was at our house. And looking at them Ahana’s mood was lifted up. She didn’t protest at all. And I was glad she didn’t because we had a lot of work to do.
Jaai, Mir, Dad and Grandad were helping me decorate the house along with the kids’ room. Dad and grandad were ready to move in the farm house within few weeks and Ahana’s wasn’t aware of anything.
I wanted to surprise her with the decorations. I had requested Zara and Piya to take her out for few hours. As soon as they left we engrossed ourselves in setting up the things. I had even repaired the camera with my extraordinary ski||s and talent and retrieved the video.
In the late afternoon even the Sehgal’s joined us. I never expected that surprising someone would be so much fun.
After a day’s work it was just perfect. The nursery was adorable. Just what Ahana would like. Light colours and airy with books and toys. I even had planned a special surprise for her.
” Guys!! Thanks… It wouldn’t have been possible without you. And I need to thank my little champ for being a sweetheart.” Kyle cooed as I caressed him.
” Hey! Buddy… Anytime.” Mir said.
Just then I received a text from Piya that they were on their way home. At once I switched on the lights which were planted on the exterior of the house. It was glistening.
All of us went outside when we heard their car come in. Ahana got down followed by Zara and Piya. Looking at us she was awestruck. She noticed the lighting.
” Hey!! What’s happening?” She queried.
” SURPRISE!!” Everyone shouted together. She looked at her girl friends and they had a wicked grin on their face.
” You knew it…” She asked.
” Yeah!! Everyone did. We just helped Ansh to surprise you. Now go have a look yourself. We are going for a dinner anyways.” Zara said.
” Ma!! You too?”
” Yup!! Now don’t waste your time here. Ansh has worked hard the entire day. ”
” But where are you all going? ” She asked.
” Ahana… Jaai and Zara are taking them for a dinner tonight. ” I said.
” And why aren’t we invited?” She asked.
Ahana! When will she understand?
” Because you Dear husband wanted to spend some time alone with you. So! No more questions… We are off. ” Jaai said saving me.
” Dad!! Grandad… ”
” Bye… ” Saying so everybody left, leaving us alone.
Ahana was still looking at the gates till there cars weren’t visible anymore.
” That’s cheating… ” She said.
” Ahana! C’mon… I won’t bore you. Promise. You will have more fun with me. Come I want to show you something.” I pulled her towards the entrance of our house and unveiled the new plate.
It was written, ‘Anshana’s Paradise’.
Looking at it she gasped.
” Ansh!! This wasn’t needed at all. Raichnad’s Mansion was fine. ”
” I know but Dad insisted. They have already decide to move out and this was the name I had planned for our new house so he asked me to change this. You like it?”
” Yeah!! But…”
” No… Buts now… ”
I took her in the house. We had decorated it with fresh flowers and dim lights. From the expression on Ahana’s face I could make our that she loved it. I took her straight to the kids’ room.
” Ansh! This is so good. I wanted to do it but you have done it magnificently.” She remarked.
Everything from the toys to picture books and a double bed was properly placed. Anyways the babies were due in a month and half now.
” You like it?”
” Nah!! Instead, I love it… Thanks… ” She said hugging me tightly.
Then I took her to our room. I had decorated it with fresh flowers and candles. I had even cooked and arranged a beautiful setting in the balcony just as I had done for our first anniversary. The pictures of us on the wall complimented it and it was more than perfect.
I showed her a new camera with the clip she had recorded the previous day.
” I’m sorry Ahana. I don’t know why did I do that.”
” It’s alright. You have made up very well.” She said kissing my lips. I didn’t let her go soon.
” Hmmm… Ansh!! Wait… I have brought something for you.” She said pulling out a box from her bag. I opened it.
It had a handsome smart black coloured tie with 3 blue strips on it. Extremely elegant
” Howzz it? ”
” I really think you are obsessed with black.” I remarked.
” Well, it makes you look smarter and hot. Can’t help it Ansh Raichand.” I pulled her in my arms.
” I love it when you say my full name…”
” Really….” I said swooping to her lips.
” Ansh… I’m hungry… ”
” Right away Miss… ” I said taking her towards the setting. It was a half moon in the clear star studded sky, making it even more romantic for us.
After our lovely dinner, Ahana helped me to clean the dishes and I went to change.
Just as I was about to enter the bathroom I heard something.
” Ahana!!” I called.
When I came to check on her as she didn’t reply, she was lying on the floor, fainted.
Gosh!! What happened?
” Ahana… Open your eyes… Ahana…”
God!!
Why it’s us? Every single time.
Why can’t we enjoy one night together? Just one night!!!!
