ANSH’S POV
When I saw Ahana speaking to that jerk the previous night, I was really agitated. I wonder what is that they talk about every day.
But I know I didn’t have the right to. No matter how hard I try, I always end up getting angry and upset. What is so interesting in him that I don’t have?? Anyways I ignored her for the entire day.
When I returned late at night I saw her awake. Actually she is always awake when I come home.
What surprised me more was that she had brought gifts for me. It was unexpected.
A handsome and crisp black shirt, I didn’t have one. A ganesha idol and yellow roses. I wish they were the red ones. But after my cold behaviour I knew I don’t deserve those too.
How happily she asked that was she the first one to wish me and what did I do. I let her down by saying she wasn’t. I didn’t even remember it is my b’day. I know a person can’t forget his own bday6 but I was busy like hell. Oh!! Man… Did I mess up things more??
Of course she was the first one. She always had been the first one.
I had to do this because I know she deserved someone more better.2
How cruel of me that I didn’t even thank her. I am really such a bad person. I don’t deserve it.
She really must have want to ki|| me. Although this morning I wouldn’t control myself from wearing that shirt. It fitted perfectly. Just made for me. It really made me look more handsome. Granny used to always say that I looked more charming in black. It suits me.
Now what was I doing, after openly running away from her from the office and hiding somewhere away from everyone and sitting all alone on my b’day in a deserted bar and drinking.
While everyone is busy calling me to attend the surprise party I am sitting which strangers and staring at the blank wall.
I am sure its Ahana who has done all the arrangements and they will be the best. I know I am missing everything but I wish I had an option.
I have to do this so else Ahana will not suffer a lifetime with a jerk like me. I can’t make her suffer more.
She will be angry now but I know she ll understand.
I gave an excuse that I am busy but I know everyone was waiting for me. I did let down everyone.
It was finally 1:30 am now.
” Sir, we are closing now. If you want anything else. ” I shook my head in negation and handed him my credit card. When I entered the home it was so beautifully decorated. Roses and lilies everywhere.
I saw the cake in the middle and of all I saw her. Ahana. She was sleeping on the sofa.
I went towards her. Her black dress had gone above her knees exposing her skin. She was all curled up and sleeping like a baby. I sat down beside her near the sofa. I would see the faint marks on her cheeks.
She was crying.
I made her cry. I saw the untouched plate of food. If she behaved this way, she ll surely starve herself.
I also saw 3 beer tins lying beside her. I quickly took them and threw them it the dustbin. I really regret of having them in the fridge. I shouldn’t keep them in the house in the first place.
Oh! Man… She is drunk. I don’t understand why she does so when she knows she can’t handle herself. I removed the strands of her hair from her face which was all wet.
I had to do this now, again. I quietly grabbed her in my arms. But I loved it anyways though. Her dress was moving further away from her bare skin. Ansh… Control…
As I picked her up in bridal style she quickly wrapped her arms around me unconsciously. Her face was all snuggled in my neck. I took a deep breath. Her sweet fragrance was doing something in my body.
” Ansh….. ” She whispered.
Was she still awake? I could smell the mixed smell of alcohol and her sweet fragrance.
” Hmmm…. ” I said still walking us towards our bedroom.
” Why didn’t you come? ” She asked. Her eyes still close. I didn’t reply. I know she wasn’t even awake and in her senses.
” Did you have your food? ”
Are you serious? After all this she was still caring about me. How could she be so sweet?
” Hmmmm…. Why didn’t you have yours Ahana? ” I said. But she snuggled more grabbing my shirt tightly. I don’t know what was she making me feel. I stopped the conversation.
I couldn’t say anything more. It was something new to me. She made me conscious always.
I quickly tucked her on the bed and removed her sandals . I switched on the AC. I drew the covers on her. I was really angry at myself. Her eyes were too swollen now. I could clearly see the eye linear and the kajal had spread around her eyes.
Then I saw her cell beside blinking. I ignored and went for a cold bath.
When I returned Ahana was already in her deep sleep. I was also tired but then I saw her cell beeping.
I wonder who the hell was it. I picked it up. Gladly Ahana didn’t keep any password. It was a message. As expected it was one and only Jaai. She had saved his number as Hero. Like seriously…
” Hey! Beautiful… You look gorgeous. How was the party? ”
So that guy was aware.
” What happened sweetie? Is everything alright? You ain’t replying. ”
She won’t reply to you. How is he even talking to my wife like this. How is he to call her Beautiful and Sweetie. I looked at Ahana of course she looked beautiful.
” Did Ansh liked his present and what about that special announcement you were talking about? ”
Is he really sane? Still texting her. And He knows everything. Ahana really confides more in him. What announcement is he talking about? I don’t even know about it.
” I know you are online Hana…. Reply come on.. … I know you are upset.
Did Ansh say something to you? Did he make you cry? Tell me or else I am calling you right now. “I quickly came to my senses again..
I was reading the messages and he thought Ahana must be seeing it.
I quickly switched her cell off. If he called he ll know that it was I who was sneaking in her cell phone.
While switching off I saw the screen saver. It was my smiling pic with those cute kids.
I don’t even know when did she do that. But coincidently even I have her pictures and smiles captured.
I never thought Ahana would do such a thing.
She is really very kind person and has a golden heart. I can’t hurt her. She looked so cute while sleeping. I wish I could sleep beside her and cuddle her but I know I don’t have any rights.
I need to find out what announcement is being talked about.
” Done staring at your beautiful wife, Ansh…. Can we talk?”
I turned around. I didn’t realise that I was standing there since a long time. I knew to whom that voice belonged.
” Dad!! ”
He stood outside the door. I don’t know since what time I was staring at Ahana’s sleeping form or since what time he was standing outside.
” Hmmm…. So! Feeling guilty, sad or having pity on her? ” He said as I moved out and closed the door slightly.
” I am… ”
” I don’t wanna hear any of those. But tonight you really have let down, not me but your own wife. It was her plan to surprise you and make you happy. And in return you surprised her.
By ignoring her the entire day and then sitting in some stupid bar wearing the same shirt she gifted. What are you trying to prove?? ”
I looked at him in awe. Seriously man… He knew everything. From where I was to where I am.
” I am your Dad… Ansh… Don’t forget. If I wanted to, I could bring you on my forceful will but I h@ťě interfering in your life. I never did it and I never will.
I could have done it for Ahana but I want her to realise that all this that she was doing was for a wrong person. Serves her good for doing something for you. Isn’t it? ”
I stood there speechless like a statue.
What would I reply to him? I couldn’t speak anything in front of him. He was correct like always.
” I don’t know what’s going on between you guys. And I don’t intend to know also. It’s personal. But its better if the things get sorted fast. ” He said looking almost through me.
I know they aren’t going to get sorted soon. I can’t do this anymore. I was so wrong in first place.
I was wrong about everything I did. I shouldn’t have done it in the first place. I got it all wrong. I have messed up my as well as her life too.
” Are you listening to me? ” He called me.
” Yes Dad… ”
” Ahana..is a sweet girl. She is your wife. Learn to care. You must learn not to hurt those who care for you. I am not gonna repeat these things again. I want a perfect loving family. Do you get that? ”
” Yes… ” I said, but I don’t think I mean it. I ll never be able to give that to you or to Ahana. That’s why I want her to be away from me.
I know I ll hurt her again. I can’t promise you that Dad. I want Ahana to stay happy which she will never be with me. She has lots of people who love her more and I don’t have any. I can’t see her crying and miserable.
Its first time all this is happening and I have to overcome it.
He turned to go back to his room.
” Ansh…. ” He stopped again. I looked at him.
” Every parent cares about their children. Now I also have a daughter. I care about her too. I hope you understand….
I never did force you to marry her. It was you who wanted that …It was always your will and wish.
Stop screwing things more. ”
Saying so he left. I stood there speechless.
Having no answer about why is all this happening.
