“I’m sorry, but this is payback for making me fall asleep” Cody smirked, rolling the gun with his finger then pointing it at Luis.
“What are you doing?” Luis asked, his voice shaking with fear.
“I didn’t mean to make you fall asleep, I was just following orders” He said.
“I should ki|| him now but I think I might need him in the future so I will spare him” Cody thought and sighs.
“Here” He threw the gun at Luis which he caught immediately.
“I’m letting you go just for today, but if ever try that $h|t with me again, I won’t think twice before ki||ing you”
“I might look nice but I’m not,” Cody said and opened the larger door.
“Bye for now” He said and left.
“d@mn, that guy is way more scary than those three”
“I wonder why they’re trying so hard to make him join us, is he special?” Luis thought.
STREET.
The sun was setting, and the streetlights were starting to come on, casting a sickly yellow glow on the scene.
“I’m still feeling a bit groggy from that injection,” Cody said, touching his head, then bringing out his phone.
“It’s getting late I should obviously call Paul to pick….”
Cody paused when he saw the amount of missed calls and messages he had.
It was from Linda and Paul, so he proceeded to read Paul’s message first.
*Where are you, Boss?*
*You suddenly vanished without a trace*
*I’ve tried to pin down your location but something keeps getting in the way*
*Hopefully nothing bad as happened to you*
*Boss, I just found out where you are and I am there already but I still couldn’t find you*
*Mr. Cody, where are you?*
Cody let out a short sigh of relief after reading Paul’s message.
“Since he said he is here I should call so that he could pick me up” Cody said about dialing Paul’s phone number when a white Porsche Panamera car stopped in front of him.
“Boss” Paul called as he rolled down the car window.
“That was quick,” Cody muttered, looking a bit shocked by Paul’s sudden appearance.
“Get in Mr. Cody” Paul said and Cody opened the back door before getting in.
“How did you find me that quick?” Cody asked as Paul slowly drove off.
“I was actually nearby, boss so when your location popped up on my system I quickly drove here” Paul replied.
“That’s great I was just about to call,” Cody said and Paul smiled.
“Boss” Paul called.
“Huh, what is it?” Cody asked, staring at the dark sky outside through the window.
“Hmm, what happened to you boss?”
“Your location suddenly vanished away from my system and that as never happen before”
“I also checked the alley to see if you were still there but I couldn’t find you nor those boys who were following you, it was like everyone just disappeared” Paul said.
“So that Luis took everyone away,” Cody thought, trying to come up with a lie he could tell Paul.
“That’s because I actually let them go,” Cody said.
“What?” Paul screamed, stepping on the car break and causing the car to jerk to a stop.
“You let them go? But why would you do that?” Paul asked and quickly continued to drive before Cody got mad.
Cody swallowed hard, trying to come up with a reason that would make sense.
“I asked them why they were following me and they told me it was an order from their boss” He said finally.
“Boss?” Paul stared at him, his face unreadable.
“Yeah, I promise them that I won’t hurt them if they take me to their boss which they actually did, but once we got there I ki||ed everyone including their boss also” Cody said and Paul smiled.
“I know you won’t let them go like that,” Paul said.
“Of course I won’t”
“Anyway, how is she doing?” Cody asked.
“She is fine, but she didn’t go to school today and she has even become more depressed ever since she saw you” Paul replied and Cody sighed.
“I know that I shouldn’t have come back here, she is all sad because of me again” Cody said.
“Boss, don’t say that,” Paul said.
“How about you go on a blind date with her,” Paul suggested.
“A blind date with my sister?”
“Yeah, you can cheer her up that way. I’m sure she is gonna be happy if she sees you on the date,” Paul said.
“Really?”
“Yes she is going to be super happy and don’t worry about the date fixing, I will do all that” Paul said and Cody smiled.
“Thanks Paul”
“You’re welcome boss, do you have anything else you want me to help you with?” Paul asked.
“Yeah, I want you to help with something and it has to do with Mr. George,” Cody said.
“What? Why?” Paul quickly asked.
“I want to know if he has any children apart from Linda,” Cody said.
“Ohh”
“I also want you to do some digging about his past and if he has any connections with this woman named Leah she is a celebrity,” Cody said.
“Sure, I will do everything you ask for,” Paul said.
“Boss, do you want to go back to the dorms or your apartment?” Paul asked, his eyes on the road ahead.
“The dorms,” Cody replied.
“I’ll get you there as quickly as I can,” Paul said, putting the car back in drive.
As they drove, Cody found himself wondering about Mr. George.
He was still trying to wrap his head around the whole situation, and he wasn’t sure what to make of it all.
If what he is thinking about is true and Mr. George has a connection with Leah.
One thing was for sure though, he won’t trust him again, and he wasn’t sure he ever would.
They pulled up to the dormitory, and Cody got out of the car.
“Thanks for the ride, Paul,” He said, giving Paul a smile.
“I really appreciate it,” He added.
“Have a good night”
Paul smiled back.
“You too, boss,” He said.
“I’m always here if you need me”
Cody nodded and headed inside the dormitory.
He walked toward his apartment, he got there and opened the door.
He walked in and saw Max arranging plates filled with Macaroni and cheese on the table.
“Hey, Cody!” Max said with a big smile.
“I see you are back” Max said.
“Yeah,”Cody replied.
“I made dinner for the three of us”
“Three?” Cody raised his brows.
“Yes, can you go and call your girlfriend? She is in your room,” Max said.
“Wait, girl what? My room!” Cody asked, a confused look on his face.
“I don’t have a girl…..” Cody paused when he saw Sally walking out from the direction of his room.
“What are you two blabbing about when there’s food on the table” Sally said rushing toward the table.
“Foodie” Cody called.
