Cody closed his eyes, letting her touch wash over him like a wave.
“Yes,” He whispered.
“It’s me, Rudy” Cody said and Celine kissed him on his lips.
It was a soft, gentle kiss, full of love, longing and affection.
“Gawd! d@mn it, what the hell have I got myself into this is all Linda’s fault” Cody said inwardly as Celine devoured his lips.
Cody’s lips were like a drug, and Celine was powerless to resist.
She found herself getting lost in the kiss, forgetting about the world around her, forgetting about everything except the man in front of her.
But then, just as suddenly as it had started, the kiss ended.
Cody pulled away, breaking the connection between them.
“Huh, why, why did you break the kiss?” Celine asked.
Cody sighed and looked away, his gaze settling through the window as he stared at the stars.
“Don’t you think the stars are shining especially bright tonight?” Cody asked, his voice full of wonder.
“It’s like they’re calling out to us, begging us to look up and marvel at their beauty”
Celine followed his gaze and found herself staring at the stars, transfixed by their brilliance.
“I’ve never seen them like this before,” she said, her voice hushed.
“They’re so… beautiful”
“They are,” Cody agreed.
“And yet they’re so far away, beyond our reach, we can only admire them from afar”
Celine turned to look at him, her eyes shining with a mix of curiosity, emotions and wonder.
“Is this guy really Rudy, they seem a bit different from each other” She questions herself inwardly staring at Cody.
Cody suddenly looks at her and smiles.
Celine felt her heart explode by the smile in the best way possible.
“Rudy, just, just smile at me, for the very first time” She muttered totally in shock as her heart pounds.
It was a smile full of warmth and affection.
“Can we talk outside for a bit?” Cody asked.
“Sure,” She smiled.
OUTSIDE, GARDEN.
Cody and Celine walked side by side, the cool night air a welcome relief from the stuffiness of the house.
As they strolled through the garden, they were enveloped by the sweet scent of night-blooming jasmine.
“I have to be honest, I’m still not sure what to make of all this,” Celine said, breaking the silence.
“It’s been a lot to take in, like I believe and know that you are still alive somewhere even when a lot of people thought you were dead”
“But I never have imagine that we would see each other again this quick”
“I think this is what they call fate, Rudy” Celine said with excitement full in her voice.
“Oh! Well that’s good I guess” Cody said, sounding a bit disappointed.
“Are you okay Rudy?” Celine asked
“Huh?”
“You sound disappointed, are you not happy to see me, after waiting for you all this while” Celine said.
“You see, Celine,” Cody paused, stopping on his track.
“I need you to forget about what you heard earlier between me and Linda and about me being Rudy also” Cody said.
“Huh? Why?” She asked.
“Aren’t you Rudy, why should I forget about you” Celine asked.
“You just have to…..”
“I’ve waited so long just to see you again because I had fate in you that you’re still alive, rejected some many guys just because I wanna be with you, and you are here telling me to forget about you, that’s not happening,”
“I’m telling you this because I’m not Rudy,” Cody paused.
“Not anymore, I am a different guy now and no matter what you do or say I can’t and I won’t fall in love with you just like when we are still in highschool” Cody said and Celine felt her heart shattered.
“So forget about the past and move on with your life, Rudy is gone, he is dead, he was ki||ed so forget about him,” Cody said with no emotion on his face.
“What?” Celine asked, her heart breaking a little more with each word.
“But why?”
“Why”
“Why, why are you acting like this Rudy”
“Why?” Celine yelled.
“Why? Do you love it so much when you hurt my emotions” Celine asked, already breaking down in tears.
“I have never done anything wrong to hurt you Rudy all I give you is my love and you hurt me in return” Celine said in tears.
“That’s because I never ask for your love Celine” Cody said and Celine’s eyes widened.
“What? What do you mean?” Celine asked, a note of desperation creeping into her voice.
“What are you talking about?”
“I never ask you to love me,” Cody said.
“Ru…Ru…. Rudy” Celine called in shock, staring at the emotionless Cody.
“When, when did you become this cold and emotionless, Rudy. What happened to you when you were away, because you are not the Rudy I once know” Celine asked as tears rushed down her eyes.
NATHAN’S RESIDENCE.
“But, but I thought your phone was already stolen,” Ms. Susan said.
“Yes, that’s true but how did you know that Mom?” Nathan asked.
“Mhm, hmm I, I….” Ms. Susan stammered not knowing what to say.
“I…. I… just….”
“Mum” Sarah called entering the room.
“Sarah” Ms. Susan and Nathan both called in shock looking at her.
“Mum,” She called again.
“Mum just gave me the phone instead, it clearly seems like my brother doesn’t want it” Sarah said.
“Is that true Nathan, you don’t want the phone” Ms. Susan asked, bringing out a black box.
“Mum, you haven’t ans…..”
“Yes, he doesn’t want it” Sarah cut him off.
Nathan looks at her and sighs.
“I don’t want it Mum” Nathan said standing up and he left the room.
“Here is the phone, Sarah,” Ms. Susan said and gave Sarah the black box.
“Thank you, Mum,” Sarah smiled, hugging her.
“You’re welcome dear” Ms. Susan broke the hug and Sarah left the room.
Ms. Susan quickly went to lock the room and let out a heavy sigh of relief.
“That was so close, when did he become this smart” Ms. Susan asked no one but herself.
NATHAN’S ROOM.
Nathan entered the room and fell heavily on his bed.
He brought out the phone Cody bought for him, he looked at the phone closely wondering about how his mum knew that his phone was stolen.
She was really shaking up when I asked her how she knew.
“I guess he was right, my mum might know about Senior Rudy’s death” Nathan said and buried his face into his pillow.
GEORGE’S MANSION, GARDEN.
Cody was sitting down on a nearby bench at the garden with Celine’s head on his lap.
She was already asleep, Cody let out a short sigh and said.
“How do we ended up this way”
FLASHBACK.
“What? What do you mean?” Celine asked, a note of desperation creeping into her voice.
“What are you talking about?”
“I never ask you to love me,” Cody said.
“Ru…Ru…. Rudy” Celine called in shock, staring at the emotionless Cody.
“When, when did you become this cold and emotionless, Rudy. What happened to you when you were away, because you are not the Rudy I once know” Celine asked as tears rushed down her eyes but got no response from Cody even though he was staring at her, he didn’t say anything.
“If…if…if you won’t answer me, but can you at least lend me your shoulder to cry on” Celine said and Cody just simply nodded.
“Sure,” He said.
FLASHBACK ENDED, PRESENT.
“She ended up crying till she fell asleep,” Cody said.
He stood up and carried her towards his room.
Cody got there and slowly dropped her on his bed.
He sat close to her and began to stare at the sleeping Celine for a while with his eyes locked on her lips.
He suddenly shook his head and stood up, he decided to leave the room alone for her. As he was about to take his first step, he felt something holding on to his hand.
Cody turned to face Celine.
Her eyes were still closed, but her grip on his hand was tight.
“Please,” She whispered, her voice thick with sleep.
“Stay, don’t leave Rudy”
Cody hesitated, torn between his desire to leave and the impulse to stay.
But as he gazed down at Celine, his heart made the decision for him.
He sat back down on the bed, keeping hold of her hand.
Cody let out a short smile staring at the sleeping Celine, his eyes locking with hers and took a deep breath.
“I’m sorry for saying all those hurtful words Celine, but I heard no choice this is only way I could think to make sure you keep your mouth shut, because I don’t want anyone I know or anyone I am close to to get hurt or ki|| in this battle” Cody said staring at her when his phone suddenly ring.
He brought it out and answered the call.
“Hello Boss, one of the guys for earlier who attack you and your friend is ready to confess”
“Okay, I will be one my way” Cody said and hung up.
He stood up looking at Celine and smiled.
“I think I should say this in person when all this is over but I don’t know if I would still be alive till then” Cody paused, still looking at her.
“Thank you for staying at Alex’s side when I was gone” Cody said and placed a soft kiss on Celine’s lips before he left the room.
Celine suddenly opened her eyes and touched her lips.
“I just felt something wet on my lips” Celine said looking around but couldn’t see anyone.
“Rudy” She called as she slept off back.
UNKNOWN HOUSE.
Cody drove into the place and slowly parked his car.
A guard quickly rushed toward the park car and opened the door.
Cody got down and asked, “Where are they?”
“They are inside Mr. Cody,” The guard replied.
“Lead the way,” Cody said.
“Yes sir”
Cody’s footsteps could be slowly heard as he walked down the hallway.
Finally, he reached the door, and the guard opened it for him.
He took a deep breath and stepped inside.
The room was filled with a lot of guards and the four guys who attacked Cody and Nathan.
“So who among them wants to confess?” Cody asked.
“That one, Mr. Cody” One of the guards pointed at one of them.
Cody walked up to him and said.
“So you are the one” Cody said looking at the guy straight in the eyes but the guy quickly avoided Cody’s gaze by staring at the floor fearfully.
“Aren’t you going to talk,” Cody asked.
“Are the one who is going to tell who sent you guys to attack Nathan” Cody asked.
“Yes” The guy nodded in fear.
“Bu…bu… bu… but you have to promise to let me go” The guy said.
“Sure I will let you go, so who sent you guys?” Cody asked.
“It was Mr. Donald, he told us to ki|| Nathan and bring Nathan’s phone to him” The guy said.

“So where is this Mr. Donald?” Cody asked.
“I’m sorry, I can’t tell you that” The guy replied.
“Okay, set him free guys” Cody said walking away from him.
One of the guards went to set the guy free.
“Thank….you……ahhhhh.” The guy coughed out blood as he slowly fell down.
Cody walked up close to him with a gun in his hand.
“I said I will let you go but I didn’t say alive” Cody said pointing his gun at the guy and he shot him.
A loud bang echoed through the room, followed by a deafening silence.
The guards stared in shock, their eyes wide with horror.
They had never seen Cody act like this before, and they were terrified.
Cody stood there, frozen in place, his gun still raised.
There was a smile on his lips as he looked at the dead body.
“Whoever you’re Mr. Donald don’t ever try to hurt anyone I know cause I might come and ki|| you next” Cody said.
After a few moments, he slowly lowered his gun and turned to face the guards.
“Take care of the dead body” He said and left.
NEXT MORNING, DAYTON COLLEGE.
BOY’S DORMS, CODY’S APARTMENTS.
Cody entered the apartment and could see some changes in the apartment.
He went straight to look for the guy he knocked out yesterday but he was nowhere to be found and his room was already empty and cleaned.
He went back to the sitting room when he heard a knock on the front door.
He went to the door and opened it, revealing Max on the other side.
“You!”
Both Max and Cody pointed at each other.
Max was dressed in a simple black dress, and he carried a large suitcase in his hand.
“Aren’t you the guy from yesterday at the cafe?” Cody asked, opening the door for him to come in.
“Yes,” Max replied walking in.
“What’s your name again?” Cody asked, scratching his head pretending not to remember his name.
“My name is Max”
“Max Donald”
“Donald?” Cody muttered as his eyes widened.
