“Oh, I’m so sorry!” Cody said, realizing he’d bumped into one of the workers at the cafe who was entering the cafe.

The worker was tall and had a black hair with a shy smile.

He wore a black apron and a black nose mask.

“It’s no problem, sir, you just have to be careful where you’re going next time….”

“Max” Cody called.

“Huh? How did you know my….” He paused.

Max’s eyes went wide as he recognized the voice.

“Rudy? Is that you?” He asked, his voice full of surprise.

He looked closely at the man in front of him, trying to reconcile the image with the memory of his old friend.

“It is you, isn’t it?” Max smiles and hugs Cody.

“Excuse me, I think you’re hugging the wrong person” Cody lied as he broke the hug.

Max blinked in confusion, looking at the man in front of him.

“What do you mean?” He asked, his brow furrowed.

“I thought you were Rudy” Max said and Cody shook his head.

“Sorry, I’m not Rudy,” He said.

“My name is Cody, just a first time customer here”

“I’m sorry to disappoint you,” Cody said.

“B-but how did you know my name?” Max asked.

“You had a name tag on” Cody replied.

Max was caught off guard.

He had completely forgotten that he was wearing a name tag.

He felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him, and he quickly removed the tag from his shirt.

“Oh,” Max said, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over him.

“I’m so sorry, I mistook you for someone else,” Max said.

“It’s okay, it happens,” Cody said as he walked out of the cafe.

Max felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him again.

He couldn’t believe he had made such a foolish mistake.

How could he have mistaken Rudy for someone else?

“But their voices …. ”

“Hey, wait!” Max called after him, surprising himself with his own words.

“Can I buy you a coffee? As a way to make up for my mistake?”

Cody paused, turning back to look at Max.

“That’s really not necessary,” He said.

“You don’t have to make it up to me”

“Please, let me,” Max insisted.

“I feel bad about what happened., I’d really like to make it up to you”

Cody considered Max’s offer for a moment, then said.

“Maybe some other day, I have somewhere important I need to be” Cody walked away toward his car.

“Oh, of course, ” Max said, though he couldn’t hide his disappointment.

“Another time, then” Max smiled, understanding that Cody had other priorities.

As Max went back inside and sat in front of the counter, he couldn’t help but wonder about the guy he had mistaken for Rudy.

What if he had really been Rudy, and Max had just missed an opportunity to reconnect with him?

He couldn’t stop thinking about it because he believes Rudy is still alive just missing.

Just then, his phone buzzed with a text message.

He pulled it out of his pocket and saw that it was from his girlfriend, Kiran.

The message read: “Hey, are you still at the cafe? I’m on my way!”

Max smiled and text back.

“I will be waiting”

“I’ll be there soon!” Kiran texted back, and Max put his phone away, feeling a sense of excitement at the thought of seeing her again.

He hadn’t seen her in a few days, and he had missed her company.

He wondered what they would do once she arrived.

Maybe they could go for a walk, or grab some dinner, or just hang out and chat.

Wh@ťěver they did, Max knew he would enjoy spending time with her and he hoped Kyran wouldn’t be coming.

As he waited for Kiran, Max couldn’t stop thinking about Cody.

There was something about him that was familiar, but Max couldn’t quite place it.

He was starting to feel a bit frustrated with himself for not being able to figure it out.

Just then, he saw Kiran walking through the door of the cafe, and his frustration melted away.

She was as beautiful as ever, with her dark hair pulled back in a ponytail and a bright smile on her face.

She was wearing a floral dress that accentuated her curves, and Max smile as he watched her approach

“Hey, Max!” Kiran called waving as she reached the counter table, and Max stood up to give her a hug.

“It’s so good to see you”

“I’ve missed you,” Max said, meaning it with all his heart.

He couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief wash over him as he held her in his arms.

“Me too,” Kiran said, pulling away from the hug and kissing Max slightly.

“I have something I want to tell you and it’s about Rudy,” Kiran said.

“Huh?”

OUTSIDE THE CAFE.

Cody entered his car and smiled.

“That was close, Max almost found out about my real identity” He muttered still smiling but it suddenly turned into a frown when he remembered the name Susan.

“So Nathan’s Mother’s name is Susan” Cody said thinking.

“She is the one that told Mr. Robert to ki|| me, so she is likely to be the lead”

Cody’s mind was unsettled as he tried to piece together the puzzle.

What if she is the one that ki||ed my mom?And what if there are more of them?

He was starting to put the pieces together, but he still had so many unanswered questions, and he was determined to find the answers.

“Don’t worry Mom I promise to ki|| all those who are behind your death I don’t care how much they are” Cody muttered and drove off.

STREET.

“What? But I thought Ms. Leah …..”

“Shut up, this is the new order so drive”

“Okay,” He said, driving slowly behind Nathan.

Nathan was completely unaware of the car behind him.

Nathan had no idea that he was being followed.

He walked down the street, oblivious to the danger that was lurking behind him.

The car drove slowly, trying to stay as far away as possible while still keeping him in view.

The two men inside the car were deep in conversation, and their voices were tense.

“Are you sure about this?” One of them asked.

“This isn’t what we were supposed to do”

“I know, but the orders have changed,” The other one said.

“We have to follow them, or we’ll be in trouble”

The first man hesitated, his hands trembling on the steering wheel.

“I don’t know if I can do this,” He said, his voice shaking.

“I didn’t sign up for this, I just wanted to be a part of something big, not a murderer”

The other man gave him a hard look.

“We’re all in this together,” He said, his voice cold and hard.

“You don’t have a choice, if you don’t want to die ” The other man brought out a gun.

“Now, drive”

The first man swallowed hard, his heart racing as he pushed down on the gas pedal.

The car picked up speed, moving closer to Nathan.

The man’s hands were still shaking, and he struggled to keep the car on the road.

His mind was racing, and he couldn’t focus on the task at hand.

All he could think about was what was about to happen, and how it would change everything.

Nathan, still oblivious to the danger behind him, continued on his way.

He was humming to himself, lost in thought.

He had no idea that his life was about to change forever.

Suddenly, the car behind him accelerated, quickly gaining speed.

Nathan was about to cross the road, then suddenly stopped when heard the roar of the engine, and he turned around just in time to see the headlights bearing down on him.

He had no time to react.

The car slammed into him, knocking him off his feet and sending him flying through the air.

He landed hard on the pavement, and everything went black.
