CHAPTER FORTY ONE: WHEN DEATH CALLS 1
Chloe stare at him, they are many things that can happen but no… I don’t want him feeling bad and crying, I don’t ever want to see him cry ” don’t cry ” cleaning his tears with my hands, mine won’t stop dropping from my eyes.
” you’re crying ” his hands move to my face, I stare at him… Many thoughts run through my head, is they any way for me to get rid of this curse, is they a way for me to stop this death that calls my name? ” Chloe” Thanatos voice brought me back from my thoughts ” I promise to find a way out, I will definitely find a way.”
” we can do that together ” I smile ” am not as weak as before anymore ”
” you found out about Clifor?”
” yes ” replying, I $h00t him a confused look ” but I have no idea as to why demons were trying to ki|| me, why is that?”
” you do remember most of them screaming Clifor right?” His words brought back those memories, I quickly nod and look his way ” those are demons against you being their queen, the rebellious ones and those which just come close to you without saying anything, just the intent of ki||ing you, macaria sends them ”
” you’re joking ”
” she wishes you death ”
” why did you pretend not to know me ”
” the moment you asked me to marry you ” Thanatos smile ” I knew it was you but I just had to keep things low ”
” why?”
” I wanted you to love me ” he smile ” most of your life, you kept avoiding me, it also surprises me that you had no memories of your past and called me an angel” my face heat up and he chuckle ” trust me, this time around, I won’t let anything happen to you, you won’t die ”
I nod ” I trust you ”
after that day, Days and weeks passed, no demons, no macaria, no troubles, just the two of us….. News of Freya death came as a surprise, staring at her grave, I frown… could it be that karma is real? Her days were nothing but sadness.
I look sideways and stare at a sad man, Asmodeous look broken, Freya died from his hands, he R@P£D her to death…. Her cries or pleads flew to empty ears, he just did wh@ťěver was in his head.
Still yet, I am not sad or filled with pain, I care less about her death ” come ” Thanatos hold my head and take me to one of the chairs in the area, the nation just lost their princesses, of course the whole place is filled.
The pain in my heart, strike again, these days I have been getting unbearable pains, I can’t think straight, I will never wish for Thanatos to find out, I can feel it that my days are numbered.
My eyes roam around, trying to find an exist, to hide …. Getting up, I look at the numbers of people crying, graves were everywhere, just graves, carriages and no building in sight.
Determined to hide in one of the carriages, I walk further away from the function and sink into one of them, only to stare at xiber , he look right back at me ” princess Chloe?”
” milord ” quickly lower my head ” I have no idea, you were here”
” I just arrived ”
Clenching my hands to my chest, I reply ” let me get down ”
” no” he hold my hand ” you really do look sick, are you okay” lifting my head, I look at him ” you need to leave this place right?” Nodding my head, he told the couchman to start the carriages and head back to the motel he is staying.
Relaxing, I try to catch my breath but the pain won’t go away ” don’t you have any drug with you?”
” no, it doesn’t work anyway ” close my eyes and try to calm myself from within, I have been training to be able to use powers but I guess, once you die in your past life, your powers die with it… No matter how many mind training I do, I still don’t feel anything within me.
Could it be because Thanatos hide my third eye? Will he ask more questions if I tell him to release the magic he did on me? ” Chloe” xilber hold my hand and I open my eyes ” you’re bleeding ” I blink then touch my nose ” are you sure you don’t need a physician?”
He looks so worried, I use my hand and clean my nose ” am fine ”
” you are not, your body is shaking ”
Am beginning to find it difficult to speak ” just let me be, I will be fine in an hour ”
” you always withstand such pain for an hour? Is your husband not aware of this?”
” he is not, don’t you dare inform him either ”
” you’re planning on dying without him knowing?”
” yes ”
” Chloe, I never thought I will be the one to say this ” he look me dead in the eye ” you’re a horrible wife, put yourself in your husband shoes, how do you think he will feel?”
” you don’t understand ”
” hmmm”
The ride to his place was fast and short, he helped me off the carriage and then proceeded to lift me up in a bridal style, I use that opportunity to hide my face, resting my head on his chest, the sound of the door closing alert me.
He drop me on bed and I breath out, am starting to get my breathing back and just like that, am feeling even more weak ” am sure Thanatos is losing his mind right now ”
” the funeral should still be active ”
” but you’re not there ”
” I will return back to the mansion ” sitting up, I look at xilber who is literally bending close to me, our face is three inches apart ” what’s wrong ”
” is they a misunderstanding between you two?” He lean close, closing two inches between us ” do you feel like running from him?”
” the only person I feel like running from is you ” I lean backwards” you’re too close ”
” why did you fall out of love Chloe?” He looks at me, sadness evident in his eyes ” why did you choose Thanatos ”
” you don’t need to know ”
” this is the closure I need ” he look at me ” is it money, I have it more, looks ….. Am sure am better looking than him ”
” is not that ”
” then what is it?”
” demons “I just had to add this part ” he is also better than you in everything ”
after saying that, it hit me, of course, demons have not been disturbing me lately, that was because of Thanatos presence, just because i know the truth now, it doesn’t mean they still dont h@ťě me
” don’t be ridiculous” he lean close, pressing his lips onto mine, my eyes widen when the atmosphere around us change, it’s coming… Am sure they are coming….. Using my hands, I push xilber back, am sure he can see the urgency in my eyes ” we need to leave ” I shake my head ” i need to leave”
” what’s wrong ” he stand to his feet ” is it because of the kiss?”
” demons ” I stood up but my legs, they are shaken, I haven’t recovered fully yet ” I have to go ”
” to where?” The deep voice, made me lift my head, am sure xilber can also see it, this time, the demon can speak, it has six eyes….. Red skin and seven feet tall ” where do you think you’re going princess Chloe?” It speak one more time.
The pain hit my heart, I could hardly breath ” it is time you die ” the demon grab the collar of my dress and lift me up ” don’t you think so? ”
” why” tears drop from my eyes ” why can’t I live, why do everybody keep deciding when am to die!!!! Am no body puppet!!!!!” I could feel rage rising in my body ” if am to die, I will be the one to pick where I wish it to happen ”
Everywhere turned pitch black.
