CHAPTER THIRTY NINE: GOING TO THE PAST 1
Clifor slowly drop the piece of paper he was holding ” how long is she going to stay with him?” Lauren move closer ” is it that her memories are missing ”
” not just missing, she has lived so many lives that am not sure she remembers us, I mean we met her at her fifth life ”
” is her memories not supposed to return?” Lauren sit down and exhale ” you blessed her, she is supposed to be manifesting now ”
” not when Thanatos is in the picture ”
” you mean the God of death?”
” exactly” I run my hands through my hair ” it’s not like last time that she got her memories fast which made her avoid him, this time ….. She is already in love without knowing the full truth ”
” Isn’t she supposed to ki|| him?”
” Indeed, it’s her curse ”
” and she has no idea?” Before I could reply her, the bird I sent weeks back, return back to the window with a note wrap around it’s leg, without thinking, I open up the tongue, Chloe reply made my face fill with smiles ” what is it?”
” she wants to remember everything ” I respond and she stood to her feet
” how do we go about it ”
” I just have to take her back to her memory lane, it’s an ancient magic, am glad I learnt it ”
” do you plan to visit Thanatos mansion without his permission?”
” I have to take that risk ”
Chloe look at the mirror once more and nod her head, this should be it, not too much and not too light…… Losing my hair and placing flower at the side, the maids apply simple makeup on my face while I put on a red dress, not too long but decent enough.
” milady ” Trevor voice alert me from outside ” lord Thanatos is asking for your presence”
” am almost ready ” exhaling, I shake my head then open the door ” lead the way ” with each step, my heart kept beating with fears, different fears and thought run through my head
What if she h@ťěs me?
What if she tries to get rid of me?
I heard she is a goddess, what if she ki||s me?
What will I do if she end up picking macaria over me? Am sure they have always known each other, and if that is true, macaria might have had mouth me already.
Trevor open the door, I step in and immediately I did, my gaze meet with her, I expect a frown to creep into her face, I expected her to hiss and say hurtful words but instead, her face lighten up and she looks at Thanatos
” isn’t that Chloe ” her voice like that of an angel, Thanatos nod and she looks back at me ” come here child, how have you been ” when I did as she said, she pulled me into a tight hug, I $h00t Thanatos a confused look and he just shrug ” how have you been, are you alright?”
I nod my head ” yes, am doing great ” smiling, she gently pat my hair, I notice the look in her eyes, they were sadness and pity, all directed to me, but why? Why do she feel that way?
” come” Thanatos pull a chair for me to sit down, we all sat down and I listen to them talk about old times while I eat, of course am happy that his mother seem to like me but what I don’t get is why the pity?
” what did you say?” Her voice rise up and I furrow my brows at that, my gaze move to meet her, she looks confused and angry
” like I said ” Thanatos seemed calmed ” Chloe is my wife”
” your wife?” She gasp and looked my way ” Chloe, tell me he is joking, you two can’t be together, you know better ”
” I don’t understand”
” you didn’t tell her?” She looks back at Thanatos ” how will you let her get fond of you and still yet, you didn’t tell her the truth ”
” what truth?”
” the fact that you were cursed to ki|| him ”
” ki|| him ?”
” naturally, you both will die if you’re together” I look at Thanatos and he shake his head ” you will eventually die but when you’re with Thanatos, you two will die”
” I don’t understand all these ”
” this is why you are Thanatos bride!!!” She yell ” I demand you stay away from my son!!!”
” mother!”
” she is not good for you, do you wish for death?”
” what make you think she can ki|| death? Is that even possible?”
” You don’t know what Hades was thinking when he lay that curse ”
” no body can ki|| me, stop worrying about, it will do you no good ”
” excuse me ” getting up, I walk out of the dining hall, back to my chamber, shut the door and fall down to my knees, hugging them to my body, I remain quiet, no tears drop from my eyes but I have no idea what to do right now.
I don’t know why I was cursed, I don’t know what I did so wrong, I don’t know why Hades will curse his own child, I never asked to be brought to this world
And now being close to Thanatos, I might even put him in danger, what do I do? How do I stop all these? Should I just leave? Run to a far away place and remain there? Should I just do that?
” milady?” A familiar voice brought me back, I lift my head and stare at Clifor ” you asked for my assistant”
” Clifor ” I mumble ” you’re here ”
” Are you certain you wish to learn more about your past life?”
” can you show me?” I stand to my feet ” if you can, please do ”
” you will go back in the past but you won’t be seen by anyone, invisible while you watch everything that happened and maybe, just maybe….. You will know why my clan needs their queen back ”
” yes, show me everything”
I stood still while I watch him recite a different spells, it took minutes before everywhere turned complying white, I could not see anything, painc swell inside me ” Clifor?” I call out his name but no response
I have no idea how long past before I find myself in a forest, tall tress everywhere, a voice got my attention ” you shouldn’t do that to her ” I move close and stare at my self ” you said you love macaria, I don’t need you returning my feelings…. My sister will be sad ”
” Chloe ” Thanatos $h00t me a confused look ” are you being serious, am telling you that I love you, I choose you!!!”
” it doesn’t matter, maybe you shouldn’t have tell me anything!!”
” are you being serious ” he growl, move close and hold my hand ” you are pushing me away? You told me you loved me, you said you can’t do without me!!!!” I saw the hurt in his eyes, I can never imagine Thanatos talk this way…. Was he this open in the past?
” Thanatos I…..”
” you want me to choose macaria over you?” I watch how my past self nod, they is pain in my eyes but why, why did I push him away? Was they a reason
” this will be the very last time I open up to you” he walk away and I break down, I stood there watching myself cry, tears kept rolling down without stop…. I move my hands to my chest, close my eyes and shake my head.
I was stupid, I really didn’t fight.
