Chapter 28
Violet’s POV
I thought I was the one trying to get closer to him but right now I want my privacy. He wasn’t doing his job as a tutor cause I can’t understand anything with him around.
“But not now. I have a test next week and I don’t want to fail” I looked at him pleadingly.
Like seriously Violet. What the hell have you gotten yourself into. Obviously I wanted this and I have to deal with it.
“Reason why I am your tutor. I can’t let my student reading all by herself when she doesn’t understand a thing” He said and I scoffed.
Why does everyone keeps saying that I don’t know a thing. Don’t they believe that I can get better or maybe I can just wake up one day and suddenly become intelligent….. That’s a lie but I get to dream sometimes.
First it was Mum then Ryan and now it has to be the boy I like so much. He should be on my side helping me to study.
“I understand everything in the textbook Mr Tutor so I don’t need your help or anything” I said and slowly I was starting to get pissed off.
They were already challenging me indirectly and I was gonna show them that I am better than what they think I am.
“You’re kidding Vio, I know when you’re lying and you’re doing that now obviously” He said and chuckled.
Okay he’s right that I don’t understand it but what’s the point of coming to the library, isn’t it to read and get to understand all this.
“Okay I’ll say that I don’t understand but that doesn’t give you the right to judge me and think that without you, I won’t get better in my studies. I don’t think being here with you will make everything better” I was already pissed to the highest level.
I just freaking poured out my feelings without batting an eyelid and I guess he’s shocked that I said all these.
I stood up packing my bags and books going to another corner to read. I didn’t pay attention to anything and just sat down sighing loudly.
“Hey who got you angry?”I heard someone whisper beside me and I groaned at who it was.
I guess God decided to punish me this afternoon. I just finished yelling at Clover, something I have never done before and now I’ll have to deal with Malcolm.
I stood up trying to leave to another seat but he held my wrist and I glared at him.
“I’m sorry if I got you offended you shouldn’t just leave because of me. It’s good to see that you’re serious” He complimented.
That made me calm. The fact that he said that I was serious. It was the first time I heard someone say that to me.
Maybe I was quick to judge him and he wasn’t that bad after all. I sat down and then he smiled.
“We could be reading partners if you like. We’ll exchange ideas on wh@ťěver we read and that’ll make us understand better” He suggested and I nodded.
“Sure why not” I said and brought out my books while he moved closer.
Clover’s POV
I clenched my fist and I watched her leave. How could she left me hanging like that. I thought that’s what she’ve always wanted and now she’s so angry calling me a distraction.
I actually came here because I saw her earlier when she was telling her other friend that she was staying behind to read.
I thought I could be of great help and I even had to ignore Adrian’s request for us to hang out.
I had been ditching him for a while now and that’s because I had already turned to a pest. I just keep seeing myself following her around.
Maybe because I want her to keep on liking me or it was an extreme attraction I had to how she behaves.
I stood up wanting to follow her till I saw her settle beside that new guy. The one that has been making every girl talk today.
I knew he was no where a competitor to me but seeing him talking to Violet and she responded.
He even held her wrist and I arched my brow waiting for her to remove his hands away instead she just sat down and he smiled at her.
She was calling me a distraction but what about him. They were both talking and she even dared laugh. Something she didn’t do with me.
f-__-k I wasted my time on something unimportant. I stood up and stormed out of there. I shouldn’t be thinking about this.
Yes….. She’s is just one of them who keeps throwing themselves at me. Isn’t that what it’s supposed to be. She thinks she can be with any guy she wants and then make them like her like it’s something simple.
I went outside the school and I saw Adrian’s car outside school. Thought he was angry and left. I went there and I got in the passengers’ seat.
“Hey you didn’t go home anymore” I asked and he rolled his eyes.
“Are you really asking me that. We haven’t hang out as friends for a week now after school and that’s because you’re busy tailing that dumb girl. You said you have no feelings for her” Adrian yelled.
Why am I being yelled again?
“She’s not dumb Adrian don’t call her that” I said shutting my eyes.
“Here we go again. You’re defending her and you’re always around her. You’re always telling me about how you wanna pay her back for every single thing she’s doing to you” Afraid said and I sighed.
He’s totally right. He has always being complaining that I bring her up in every of our conversation and I’ve tried to stop and assure myself that she’s just someone interesting.
“Are you sure you’re just playing with her Clover or you’re actually falling for her charms”
That question hanged in the air……
