CHAPTER 41💔42
(FLASHBACK FIVE YEARS AGO)
Henry walked out of a small building beaming happily as he approached his bike.He took his helmet and was about to wear it when he heard someone yelling his name
“Henry!!Get your @zz back in here”yelled Fredrick as he walked out of the house approaching Henry who had a smirk on his face
“What’s it,daddy?”Henry said teasingly and Fredrick glared at him
“It’s stressful taking care of Charlotte alone and adding you to it makes me age quicker than my age.Now tell me,where the f-__-k are you going this early?”Fredrick asked as he pressed his temples in frustration
“It’s her 18th birthday today.I finally get to see the lady my little Leah has grown into”said Henry with a smile and Fredrick scoffed
“What makes you think she is still in the orphanage?”asked Fredrick and Henry scrunched his eyebrows
“Don’t be a mood ki||er.She still sent me a letter last week”said Henry and Fredrick sighed
“Do you even recognize her?”asked Fredrick
“No but at least I know her name so it won’t be hard locating her in the orphanage so now if you would stop behaving like an overprotective mother,I have to go”said Henry as he got in his bike and Fredrick sighed in defeat as he watched him leave.His heart was against him leaving,he felt like something bad was going to happen
“Freddy,come and prepare breakfast!”a voice shouted from inside the house and Fredrick grunted
“Another child to watch over.”he whined as he went into the house

Henry beamed happily as he drove through the streets.He couldn’t wait to meet his childhood sweetheart,Leah.They grew up together in the orphanage but he got adopted when he was nine then she was just six years.They had been exchanging letters since then but they never met.His adopted parents maltreated him before sending him out of the house when he was 15yrs and while wandering around the streets he met Fredrick who was also a orphan.Fredrick took him in and had been taking care of him for six years now
He kept in imagining how she would look when they meet that he didn’t notice the car coming in front of him.A loud bang was heard as he was knocked into the nearby tree by the car.He fell to the ground and he could see different face hovering over him as they whispered but he couldn’t hear them
“Leah!!”That was the only word he could utter before passing out

Leah,a young girl who just turned 18 was seen looking towards the orphanage as she waited expectantly for someone.She was going to get discharged from the orphanage that day and she knew nothing about the outside world but he promised to pick her up
She sighed as she checked the big wall clock at the gate.It was evening already and she had to get out of the orphanage before the end of the day else she will be chased out.She prayed he hadn’t left her or probably forgotten about her
“No,Hart won’t do that.He probably got caught up with something”said Leah trying to convince her troubled heart
She sat at the entrance as she watched the clock ticking and she finally gave up.It was 12:00am already and she was sure he wasn’t coming for her anymore.She took her bags and walked out of the orphanage taking one last look at the place she spent all her life in

Fredrick paced to and fro in the sitting room as his eyes was fixed on the wall clock.He wondered why he wasn’t back.Henry doesn’t stay out this late and his instincts are telling him something bad has happened
“Will you just get some sleep,Fredrick?Henry is probably having a nice time with his childhood sweetheart”said Charlotte as she yawned tiredly
“No,Charlotte.Henry is not like that besides something tells me a bad thing has occured”Fredrick replied as worry settles on his face
“Well,I will be happy if he turns out dead at least I will have you to myself.Am sick of sharing you with that bastard.He is a leech and won’t do anything while you work your @zz off to feed us.You even sent him to school”complained Charlotte and Fredrick glared at her
“Leave it or take it,Henry is family and my younger brother so I am responsible for his needs just like I am for yours”said Fredrick and Charlotte rolled her eyes at him
“No wonder,you look like a pathetic mother over a guy that is probably having fun somewhere”said Charlotte and Fredrick ignored her

Fredrick sat down string at the wall clock,it was 3am in the morning and Henry was still not back.He turned and saw Charlotte who had dozed off on the chair
He rubbed his temples as he bit his fingers.Just then his phone rang and his heart skipped as he saw Henry’s name displayed in the screen.He didn’t hesitate in picking up the call
“Hello,the owner of this phone got involved in an accident and is currently admitted at the city’s hospital”said the person at the other end and Fredrick’s hand shook as he dashed out of the house.
