Chapter Twenty-seven
Desmond stares surprisedly at what Jasmine did.
“What did you do that for?”.He asked.
“To shut you up from talking”.She said unfriendly.
“Why? I was going to tell them the truth so it can be resolved”.
“Well don’t! It’s my responsibility, let me handle it, I don’t want you to meddle, I appreciate your help toward me, so please not a word to them, let’s keep it that way”.
“Why if I may ask?”.
“Is none of your business, I can take care of myself, being distant from all of you has really helped me a lot, please let’s keep it that way”.She said unfriendly and walked away. Desmond stared after her and then left.

During lunch hour everyone was murmuring to each other about what Olivia did by framing Jasmine up, the news spread around the school, and the punishment she was giving. Meanwhile, Olivia was alone in the class crying her eyes out. Daisy came over.
“What are you doing?”.She asked and Olivia raised her face to her.”Why are you crying? Did someone die?”.She asked nonchalantly.
“Are you seriously asking me that? you made me do this and now look at where it has landed me” She sniffed and Daisy scoffed.
“But you weren’t expelled”.
“Are you kidding me right now? I was given times two of the punishment, isn’t that worse than being expelled?”.She asked.
“Sorry ok, is just only a month, so, no big deal”.Daisy said.
“You are heartless, just leave me alone”.
“Fine! Suit yourself!”.She said and left the class.
Jasmine was alone on the school roof, she was thinking about Martha and wondered if everything was fine.
“Hope her daughter is fine”.She said and her stomach growled.”gosh! Am so hungry”.
“Are you Jasmine?”.A junior school girl asked and Jasmine raised her face to her.
“Yes, how may I help you?”.She asked politely
“This is for you”.She points a lunch paper bag to her. “Your brother Blake asked me to give this lunch to you”.
“Oh, thanks”.She collected the lunch from her.”Where is he?”.
“At the canteen, I will be on my way now”.
“Ok, tell him thanks”.
“I will”.She rushed down and Jasmine stared after her.
“Wow! Blake always knows when I am hungry”.She opens the lunch bag to see a sandwich with Apple juice.”Nice”.She took a bite and was amazed.
Meanwhile, the junior student came to where Desmond was smiling.
“Done! Can I have my tip now?”.She asked and Desmond gave her a dollar.”Thanks”.
“Not a word to my brother”.He said.
“Sure, nice doing business with you”.She walks away happily.
“What are you doing?”.Jake interrupted and Desmond gasped in shock.
“Gosh, you scare me”.
“What were you doing with that junior student?”.Jake asked.
“Nothing”.
“Really? You expect me to believe that, are you wooing her?”.
“Excuse you! Why will I do that?”.
“Just saying though”.
“Did you get what I ask you?”.He asked and Jake sighed.
“No, the CCTV was turned off on that day”.
“Hmm, this means the people that did that were smart by turning off the CCTV cameras”.
“Seriously, you think someone dragged her into that cold room?”.
“Yes, and now no evidence to see who it was, because she said they were two that carried her”.
“Who could have done that?”.
“I have no idea”.He sighed.”By the way where is Nathan?”.
Nathan was by the corner of the school talking to a junior student.
“You two did a great job by the way, but not to worry, no one will know it was you, because I turned off the CCTV”.He said and the boys sighed in relief.”You can go”.the two boys left and he sighed.”Why do I feel there is more to this Desmond? Are you falling for Jasmine that you keep helping her?”.He smirk. “I will find out”.He walks away.

Weeks later, Jasmine kept receiving lunch from the student, thinking it was Blake. After school hour, she rushed to where Blake was with Daisy and Desmond.
“Blake, can I have a word with you?”.She asked.
“Sure?”.He said and they move a little far away from them.
“I just want to say thank you”.She said and Blake was confused.
“For what?”.He asked.
“For….”She got interrupted by Desmond.
“Blake, let’s go”.Desmond said.
“Coming”.He turn to Jasmine.”Wh@ťěver it’s, you don’t need to thank me”.He smile and Jasmine hugged him.
“You are the best brother ever!”.She said and they pulled away from each.”Alright, take care”.
“You wanna ride with us?”.
“Nah, go ahead”.
“Ok, bye”.They waved at each other and he left to join his siblings in the car and they drove off.
“What was she telling you?”.Daisy asked.
“Why do you want to know?”.Blake asked.
“I should know, because I am your sister, you should be careful of her”.She said and Blake scoff.
“In case you don’t know, she was my sister before you came into the picture, I know her better than you do”.Blake said unfriendly.
“You two, that’s enough”.Desmond said.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you”.
“Thanks for the reminder”.He said and Daisy scoffed.
Later in the day, Desmond was outside his balcony staring at the stars as he was lost in deep thought.
“Are you ok son?”.Mrs.Ava asked and he turned to her.
“Mom”.
“What are you doing here, you are supposed to be in bed”.She said as she moved to him.
“I am not feeling sleepy”.
“Why? Do you need to see a doctor?”.
“No Mom, am fine”.
“Are you sure?”.She asked and he nodded.”Then, what are you thinking about?”.
“Nothing”.
“Ok, let’s sit, I want to talk to you”.She said and they sat down.
“Hope there is no problem Mom?”.
“No, is about the model, we are starting practice next week, I just want to inform you because the grand final is in a month’s time and we don’t have much time”.
“Ok Mom, that won’t be a problem”.He said.
“Good, I know can always count on you”.
“Anything for you”.They smile at each other.
“So, have you been taking care of Jasmine?”She asked and Desmond sighed.
“Mom, am…”.He got interrupted.
“Do you still hæte her?”.
“I never hæte her”.
“Really? Why were you so mean and unkind to her?”.She asked and Desmond sighed.”This is the moment she really needs our help, even though I didn’t birth her, but she is still my baby that I trained as a child”.
“Mom, I understand what you are saying”.
“Then take her as your sister, be kind to her, show her love and care”.She said and Desmond sighed.”Please son, for my sake, you don’t know how joyful I was when you saved her twice, first when she was sick, you took care of her, and then in the cold room, you were there with her, so, it means you have started to see her as a sister, please let it continues”.
“Ok, Mom, I have heard you”.
“Will you do it for me?”.She asked smiling.
“I will do my best”.He said and his mother hugged him.
“Thank you, son, I know I can always count on you”.
