ANNA LEIGH’S POV
After Adam got a call from his dad on our wedding, we travelled back to America the next morning with Mira Kat, through his private jet. I held her on my chest with the baby carrier.
We sat next to each other, he was looking outside the window anxiously, biting his fingers.
“Adam, you need to calm down.” I said softly.
He didn’t respond.
“Adam…”
“Can you be silent for a minute? Please?” He exclaimed.
Is he serious? Just because of his father? Unbelievable!
I scoffed angrily, hugging my baby, who’s asleep.
When the plane landed safely, he ran out of the airplane, leaving me and Mira Kat behind.
I rolled my eyes as I gently came down from the plane, holding the butler’s hand.
The driver opened the white Porsche door for me and Mira Kat while was already in the car. I entered the car, the driver closed the car and drove off.
I looked out of the wind, being made at him for neglecting both me and Mira Kat in the private jet.
I felt his hand on my thigh, I glared at him but he’s giving me his sorrowful eyes.
Adam sighed “Look, I’m very sorry I’ve been acting weird lately, it’s just I haven’t seen my dad for the past 14 years, I’m just so excited that he finally called me.” He sobbed “Please, don’t be mad at me.”
“Wh@ťěver.” I rolled my eyes.
He hugged me tight “C’mon, Teddy Bear, I said I’m sorry.”
“Leave me alone.” I blushed.
He chuckled as he kissed my cheek and Mira Kat’s forehead.
Adam does deserve better though, he never had an actual parents love just like me, at least I have a family who loves me and my mom is alive, good and caring unlike my father.
Adam had none, not family love, his mom is an evil woman and he’s dad wasn’t around. I’m glad he finally get to see his dad.
*PENTHOUSE*
ADAM’S POV
The car stopped at the parking lot of the richest penthouse building, the address that dad sent me.
I came out, opened the door for Anna Leigh and our baby who’s just awake, smiling at me as they came out of the cat.
It touches my heart as I held Anna Leigh’s hand and we went inside the penthouse building.
I asked someone for the exact apartment he sent to me. He answered and we headed straight to the direction, through elevator.
We stopped in front of the door and pressed the doorbell.
The door was opened by the person I was expecting.
“Dad!” I cried and hugged me.
“Mijo!” He sobbed, patting my head “I’ve missed you so much.”
We pulled from the hug and sniffed “Where have you been? Why did you leave me alone, I tried all my best to look for you.” I cried.
“I know son, I’ve also tried my best to bring you back but, Vivian ruin my life, took the child custody and take me away from you. I tried my best to be with you but I didn’t have the money because she won all my property, my money and the company I worked my butt on.” He explained.
I nodded “But now I’ve grown up, you could at least come to see me.”
“I couldn’t, I didn’t have the money to find you, I’ve been homeless for the past 10 years for this, I’m really sorry for leaving you son.” He sniffed and we hugged again.
“I’ve missed you so much, I’m glad you came back.” I sobbed.
We disengaged from the hug and glanced at Anna Leigh sitting on the couch, looking emotional, feeding Mira Kat with a milk filled baby bottle.
“Dad.” I smiled as I held her hand and pulled her up “Meet my wife, Anna Leigh Rodriguez and my daughter Mirabelle Kathryn Rodriguez.”
“My nieta Hermosa!” Dad cried as he carried his granddaughter for the first time “She’s beautiful, just like her parents.” He cried as Mira Kat was smiling to her grandfather.
I love this family moment.
I frowned “Wait, how did you find us?”
His smile changed “Ugh, I came here to find you and since you’re not here. I called her to track you to Colombia.”
I cringed “Who?”
“Adam?” That disgusting voice by my mother, sounded from my ear. I believe it’s an hallucination.
ANNA LEIGH’S POV
My heart raised well seeing the skinny woman looking miserably with raggy clothes and messy hair, coming to us. Looking exactly like a witch.
“My baby.” I gasped as I took my daughter from Father in law, hugging her tight for protection.
She wanted to embrace her son “Don’t you dare touch me, Vivian!” He barked, pushing his mother.
She only staggered, looking pitiful “Adam, it’s your mother.”
“I don’t have a mother, my mother is gone, you just gave birth to me but you’re nothing like my mom, you heartless b×tch!” He snarled and glared at his dad “Why did you bring her here? I thought we all h@ťěd her for ruining our lives.”
MRS RODRIGUEZ’S POV
My son h@ťěs me so much, he doesn’t wanna look at me, Anna Leigh is hiding with my granddaughter from me and I’m ready to accept both. I should have done this a long time back but I ended up making other lives miserable and ruining my life. Now my kids h@ťě me.
“Adam.” Ben held his son’s shoulders “I know your mom is bad but she’s still your mother, she still loves you and she’s the reason why I found you. Please, just forgive her and…?”
“Never!!” He pushed his father’s hands off “I’ll never forgive that f×cking bastard called Vivian, who’s still using your last name after divorce! Over my dead body!!” He exploded at me.
Tears fell from my eyes, feeling guilt and depressed.
“Adam!! Watch your mouth, she’s your…”
“How can you forgive her, dad?” Adam sobbed to his father.
“I haven’t forgive her but…”
“You forgot all she did to you?” He cut his father off “She cheated on you so many times, divorced you and took all your money, house and company, including child custody. You’ve been poor and away from us for a very long time because of her and now you brought her here for me to forgive her?”
I bent my head, feeling like a monster.
ADAM’S POV
Dad sighed “I know, but…”
“Did you know what he did to me and my wife so won’t be together?” I asked.
“What?” He sighed again.
“She kidnapped her, blackmailed me to dump her and got married to someone I don’t know. I’ve been away from my love for 4 years, I should have been a father of 2 kids but my wife had a miscarriage because she hurt her brutality.” I cried.
MRS RODRIGUEZ’S POV
Ben glared at me “Is that true?”
I sniffed, crying that I’ll lose them again. I begged Ben to help me bring back my kids if I help him.
“I’m very sorry.” I bawled as I went on my knees “Forgive me.”
“So, the evilness still didn’t leave you but lives in you?” Ben scoffed “So after you destroyed my life, you destroyed my daughter in law’s life just because you don’t want her to marry your son. I can’t believe I’m helping you.”
He shook his head “I’m really sorry, but I’m done helping you.”
“No, please, forgive me!!” I cried loudly “I’ve suffered a lot, Chance made our company go bankrupt, took the remaining money and ran away, Mark divorced me, left me and took her son away, they evicted me from the mansion and now I’m living on the street. I’ve suffered so much, please forgive me!”
Tears dropped from my son’s eyes, standing mere “You haven’t suffered enough.”
Argh!! My life is destroyed! He’ll never forgive me.
ANNA LEIGH’S POV
I felt so sad for Mrs Rodriguez. I know she’s wicked but they’re too harsh on her Mira Kat squeezed her face and started crying “Waaa.”
I stood immediately “Shhh.” I started patting her.
“Looks like her presence disgust my daughter, let’s go, Anna Leigh.” Adam held my hand.
“Wait!” I stand still.
Adam frowned at me, hoping not to say anything otherwise.
“Babe, don’t say anything stupid, remember what she did to you.” He said.
“If I can remember her sin, then why not yours? I shouldn’t have given you a second chance.” I sneered.
He was shocked “Are you kidding me?”
MRS RODRIGUEZ’S POV
Even my daughter in law want to accept me. I’m so happy and anticipated.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that, in fact, don’t forgive her or accept her as your mother, I don’t care, it’s between you guys.” She shrugged.
Oh no! My daughter in law still doesn’t want me.
“But what I’m trying to say is that, at least you should help her. Look at her, she looks so horrible and miserable.” She pointed to me “At least give her a house, or money or anything to keep her alive and after now,” She glared at me “Stay away from us forever, I don’t want to see your f×cking face.”
ANNA LEIGH’S POV
Adam smiled at me “That’s my girl.” He mouthed silently.
I winked with a smile.
“Thank you, my daughter in law.” She cried.
“Oh, now she’s your daughter in law, for a moment you h@ťěd her.” He scoffed.
Father in law sighed “Fine, I guess I could help you. Ever since you took everything from me, I’ve been living in an old small cheap farmhouse downtown, I think it’s the best for you.
Adam sighed “And have some cash of $15,000.” He threw some money on me, rudely “Let’s go.” He grabbed Anna Leigh’s hand and walked out of the room.
Ben shrugged “Good bye Vivian.” He left too.
I shouldn’t have been greedy. My whole family left me because of my selfishness. No one can go through what I went through after tearing my big family apart.
