Chapter-Twenty-One
ji-ho came over to Su-ho Cafe, Su-ho was super excited to see her as they both left for her office.
“Am so happy to see you again”. Su-ho said excitedly.
” Me too”.
“How have you been?”
“Fine, I guess”. ji-ho smile.
” You look more beautiful, I guess this pregnancy of a thing really looks good on you”. she said jokingly, and they chuckled.” But you don’t look happy, is everything ok?” she asked.
“Yeah, am fine” she smiles forcedly.
“I don’t believe you” She felt her hand tenderly.” Does it have anything to do with Baek-Hyun? Do you miss him?”.
“He is the reason why I am here, he was admitted to the hospital yesterday but he got discharged today”. she said with a sigh and Su-ho was surprised.
” Why? What happened to him? Is he ok now?”.
“The doctor said he suffered from malnutrition and that’s because he has been starving himself”.
” Oh my, that is not good”.
“I promise I will come to see him, that’s why I am here, I won’t be staying long”.
” I didn’t know about that”. she sighs.” I understand how you are feeling, but don’t worry everything will be fine”. she reassured.
“I don’t want anything to happen to him, I just wanted him to move on and forget about me but is not working”. she said sadly.
” I know, you can’t blame him, You both are destined to be together, but circumstances won’t let it be, Baek-Hyun loves you a lot, and he will do everything possible to have you”.
“I don’t want to ruin the relationship that his father had built for him, he is betrothed to Ha-jun, and everyone wants them together”.
“But he doesn’t want to be with her, he wants you” ” She holds her hand tenderly.

An hour later, Byung-ho and Chan-yeol were both relaxing at the dining table operating their phone alongside with snacks and orange juice. Then the doorbell rang, and one of the maids rushed to open the door.
” Good Day, Ms.” the maid greeted, and ji-ho responded to her warmly.
“Am here to see Baek-Hyun, is he in?”. she asked.
“Yes, please come in” ” She ushered her in, and Byung-ho and Chan-yeol were surprised to see her.
“Miss ji-ho”. Chan-yeol called surprisedly and they moved to her, She smiled faintly at them.
“Oh my gosh, you are here, I can’t believe you are here”. Byung-ho said as they embraced her, ji-ho was caught off guard and they pulled away from her.
“We are sorry about that”. Chan-yeol said
“It’s ok, am happy to see you guys too, how have you guys been?”
“We are fine”. they said smiling.
” Baek-Hyun will be so happy to see you”. Byung-ho said.”he is in his room”.he added.
“Ok, see you guys later”. She walks away and they smile after her before they go back to their seat.
” She looks different”. Chan-yeol said.
“How do you mean?” Byung-ho asked.
“I don’t know, she looks a little added up”
“You think?” he asked and he nodded.
ji-ho stood in front of the doorstep, She let out a sigh and knocked on the door once, and then opened it. She entered and saw Baek-Hyun sleeping calmly on his bed, she moved to him on the bed and caressed his face.
“have missed you so much”. she said as tears filled her eyes and kissed his forehead, he murmured in his sleep and opened his eyes weakly, and let out a faintly smile.
” If this is a dream I don’t want to wake up from it because I won’t let you go away from me again”. he muttered half asleep, ji-ho caressed his hair, he smiled, and drifted back to sleep. A few minutes later, Ji-ho fell asleep beside him on the bed, Baek-Hyun opened his eyes weakly and found someone beside him on the bed, at first he thought it was his imagination, but then, he closed his eyes and opened them again to be sure of what he is seeing, suddenly, he jerked up from the bed staring at ji-ho surprisedly, he couldn’t believe she was right next to him, he pushed closer to her and caressed her face smiling and tears filled his eyes. ji-ho moved her body and then opened her eyes to see Baek-Hyun smiling sweetly at her.
“Baek-Hyun?” She sat upright on the bed and quickly Baek-Hyun locked lips with her, She was caught off guard and then she responded to his kisses, soon they break from it and he hugged her tight to himself.
“you are here, you finally came back, I thought it was a dream”. he said excitedly and kissed her cheek.” I missed you so much, please don’t leave me again” ” He pulled away from her and caressed her face smiling. “So, I wasn’t dreaming after all”. he asked and ji-ho nodded smiling.
” I promise to see you, remember”. she said.
“Yes, and I am so happy right now”. he embraced her again. ” I have missed you so much”.
“I missed you too”. They pulled away from each other smiling, then there was a knock on the door. ” I will get the door”. She moved to open the door, she saw the cook holding a tray of food. ji-ho collected the food from her and thanked her before she walked to Baek-Hyun and placed the food in front of him.” This looks yummy”. she said.
“Yeah”. he said and was hesitating to eat.
” Go ahead, eat your food”. she said, and Baek-Hyun shook his head.” why?”
“I want you to feed me”. he said and ji-ho scoffed.
” What are you? A child?”. she questioned.
“Yeah, am a sick child that needs to be fed”. he said making a baby face.
” You are something, I won’t feed you, eat on your own”. she said.
“OK then, watch me starved “. He folds his hands and turns his face to the other side, ji-ho sighs tiredly at him.
” ok fine, I will feed you”. she said and Baek-Hyun turned back to her smiling. She takes a scoop of soup and places it in his mouth.
“Hmm, yummy”. he said and ji-ho continued to feed him.
In the dining room, Byung-ho and Chan-yeol were having their meal alongside chatting, when the doorbell rang.
“Is Baek-Hyun expecting anyone?”Byung-ho asked one of the maids who was rushing to answer the door.
“I don’t know sir”. she said and left to the door.
” Maybe he is expecting someone”. Chan-yeol said and they resumed their food, Just then they were surprised to see Ha-jun enter holding a box containing food. “Ha-jun?” he called surprisedly and she walked up to them smiling.
“Hey guys, I didn’t know you two were here”. she said.
” Yeah, you weren’t expecting you either”. Byung-ho said.
“Yeah, I came to see Baek-Hyun, I guess he is in his room” ” She turned to leave they called him back quickly.
“Um, yeah, Baek-Hyun is in his room, but he is taking a nap now, I don’t think he wants to be disturbed”. Chan-yeol said.
” Yeah, h-he is”. Byung-ho sputtered and Ha-jun stared confusedly at them.
“Ok, I won’t disturb him”. She tried to walk, and they stopped her, She stared suspiciously at them.” Why are you guys stopping me from going, Are you hiding something?”.
“No”. they said simultaneously.
” I don’t believe you”. She stared deep into their eyes and noticed they were lying.” She is here right? ji-ho is with Baek-hyun right now, that’s why you two are preventing me from going in”. she said staring hard at them.
“No, no, that’s not true “. they said, She ignored them and started climbing the stairs, and they tried calling her back.
” This is trouble”. Chan-yeol said and they sighed tiredly.
Baek-Hyun and ji-ho were chatting and giggling with each other as ji-ho kept feeding him, suddenly, the door opened wide and Ha-jun walked in staring hard at them, they stared surprisingly at her.
“Ha-jun?” Baek-Hyun called surprisedly.”What the heck are you doing, barging in like that”. he quarreled.
“So, it’s true, she is here, why is she here?” she asked rudely.
“What sought of dumb question is that? What right do you have to ask me that?”. he replied to her angrily.
” I have every right because I am your fiancee”.
“Excuse you! Are you being serious right now, When did you become my fiancee? And is that why you barged into my room like that”. he yelled.
” Of course, I have been betrothed to you since I was a child and I won’t let some decrepit person to ruin it for me”. she said rudely staring hard at Ji-ho.
“What did you just say” he questioned angrily.
“She has to leave, she can’t be here”.
” Excuse you! She goes nowhere, you will have to leave,”.he said and ji-ho cut in.
“That’s enough Baek-Hyun, there is no course for alarm, let me excuse you two, so, you can talk”. ji-ho said and stood up.
” No, you are not leaving, you have every right to be here”.
“I will just go”. She walks away even when Baek-Hyun tries calling her back, he then returns his gaze to Ha-jun, and they stare hard at each other.
” Now listen to me and listen carefully, you see this relationship thing you are trying to create, it won’t work, there is no way we will be together”.
“That’s not true, We would have been together by now if she hadn’t come into the picture, What do you see in her that you can’t see in me? Am I not good enough for you?”
“You will never be like her, she has a place in my heart, and no one can replace that, not even you, the engagement thing that my family and your family planned is not going to happen, I don’t love you and never will I because am in love with someone else “.
” I will not give up, we are meant for each other and that, it will be “She sniffed and walked away.
Ji-ho sat down in the dining room with Byung-ho and chan-yeol chatting.
” Do you guys think all is well between the two of them in there?”. Chan-yeol asked.
“I hope so”. Byung-ho said and then they caught sight of Ha-jun climbing down the staircase with tears and anger in her eyes.
” I don’t think it went well”. chan-yeol said and Ha-jun walked up to ji-ho.
“This is all your fault, you are really good at ruining people’s lives,”. she yelled angrily at her, Byung-ho tried to calm her down.
” Ha-jun calm down”.
“No, I won’t calm down! She is to be blamed for everything, I promise you that you won’t get away with this, you slimy old
b!stard! You won’t get away with this”. she yelled and stumbled away. Ji-ho sighed after her then stood up to leave.
” You don’t have to take what she said to heart”. Byung-ho said.
“Of course not, I should get going” She turns to leave and sees Baek-Hyun coming down the staircase.
“Hey bro, how are you feeling?” Byung-ho asked.
“Great, thanks to ji-ho”. he said as he stood in front of her.
” That’s good to hear”. Chan-yeol said.
“Excuse us for a while”. Baek-Hyun said as he grabbed onto ji-ho hands and walked away. Soon they entered the room and shut the door behind them.” Why are you leaving so suddenly?”.
“I– ” she got interrupted.
“No, I won’t let you leave”. He pulled her into his arms and encircled his hand around her waist.” Please stay with me, spend a night with me”.he said staring straight into her eyes.
“I” she sighs.”ok, fine,” she said and Baek-Hyun let out a smile and hugged her.
