Ji-ho was making dinner, while Si-u sat down on the bed having her snacks.
“eonni, how do you cope with your teaching and your private tutor? how can you do two jobs at the same time?” she asked.
“Is not too hard, is just normal”. Ji-ho replied from the kitchen.
” I know, but don’t you get tired, Do you even go on dates? When was the last time you went on a serious date, apart from going out with your friend, Su-ho”. she said and Ji-ho suddenly had a flashback on Baek-Hyun taking her out a date, and didn’t realize her sister was calling out to her”eonni!”. she yelled and she jerked out from her reverie.”are you okay? You just blank out “.
” Am sorry, what were you saying?”
“I was…. never mind”. she said and they went mute for a while. ” so, eonni, do you know Byung-ho that well?”.
“Yeah, he is my student, why do you ask?”
“Nothing really, he seems nice,” she said smiling at herself, Ji-ho saw her smiling, and she scoffed.
“Do you like him already?”. she asked staring at her unknowingly.
” What! No, no, no, I didn’t say I like him, I was so complimenting his attitude towards me”. she sputtered.
“Hmm, I thought as much, but you should know you don’t live in this city, you just came to spend a few days with me, so keep your distance”. she warned.
” I will sis, but that doesn’t stop me from following you to your school, right?”.
“um, yeah, I have already told the security man, he will allow you to stay with him and also watch over you”.
” Why do I need to be watched, I’m not a kid”. she frowned.
“Yes, I know, but is not advisable for you to be seen around the school premises when you are not one of the students”.
” Okay, if you say so”.
“Good” She smiled at her and continued her cooking.
The next morning, Ji-ho and her sister arrived early at the bus station.
“Wow, big sis, the whole city looks amazing!”.
” of course,” she replied with a smile and stared around the place wanting to see if Baek-Hyun would be coming because she had completely gotten used to seeing him at the bus station every morning, Si-u noticed it.
“Are you expecting anybody?”. she asked staring confusedly at her.
” No, just waiting for the bus to come early, so we won’t be late”.
“Okay,”. they waited for a while soon the bus arrived and they got in, and it drove off. Along the driveway, Ji-ho sat at the window side and stared out from it, then she caught sight of a familiar figure from afar walking along the subway she wondered if that could be Baek-Hyun when the bus got closer and stopped to carry passengers, she noticed it was him, she sees how moody he looks even if he had an earphone plug to his ears listening to cool music, she couldn’t stop gazing at him, si-u saw her staring and she traces her eyes to see what she was gazing at.” is he your student?”.
“um, yeah, I was just wondering why he is walking to school”.
“Really? Maybe he doesn’t have enough money to take a bus”.
” You wouldn’t be saying that if I were you,” she said, and the bus drove off.
“How do you mean?”.
” Never mind”. she said with a sigh her sister stared at her for a while and then turned to the road.
A few hours later, Ji-ho was taking them lessons, she was stealing gazes at Baek-Hyun as he looked so calm and there was no expression on his face, she was bothered because Baek-Hyun can never be calm during her teaching, he would always find a way to distract her lessons. meanwhile, Byung-ho wasn’t paying attention to the teachings, instead, he was staring out from the window, gazing at Si-u who was sitting with the security reading her novel, he wondered how he suddenly got attracted to her and couldn’t help but to start liking her, soon the lunch bell rang and Ji-ho left the class as the students started arranging their books, Byung-ho was still lost in his gaze and Chan-yeol Jolt him out.
“What are you staring at?” chan-yeol asked as he stood up and Baek-Hyun stared at them.
“um, nothing “.
” Shall we go now, am starving”. Chan-yeol said.
“Okay,” Byung-ho said and stood up except Baek-Hyun and turned to him.” aren’t you coming?”.
“No, you two go ahead, am not hungry”. He replied as he stood up and walked out, they stared after him confusedly.
” Since when did he start missing out on lunch?”.chan-yeol asked Byung-ho shrugged and they walked away.
After a while, Si-u walks to the garden because everywhere is calm, although she takes permission from the security man and he allows her to go.
“Hmm, this looks amazing”. she smiled and then closed her eyes to feel the cool atmosphere.
” Si-u”. Byung-ho called from behind, she quickly turned in his direction and they smiled at each other. “hey”.
” Byung-ho, hey, what are you doing out here?”. she asked.
“Nothing actually”. he replied.
” Aren’t you supposed to be in class?”
“um,” he draws a little closer to her.”yeah, but we are on lunch break”.
“Oh, I see, that bell earlier was for lunch break”.
” Exactly! So what are you doing out here? I thought you were coming to school here?” he asked.
“No, I only came to spend some days with my sister, I am not from this city, we are on holiday at my school, and that’s why I came here, I will be going back In three days”.
” oh, I thought as much”. he said.
“Yeah,”.They became quiet as the atmosphere became awkward.
“um, i-i brought you something”. he dipped his hand in his pocket and brought out a bar package of snacks and gave it to her. ” I thought you might be hungry, I brought it for you”.
“Wow, thank you very much, this is one of my favorite snacks”. she said excitedly. ” how do you know I love snacks like this?”.
“Er, I don’t know I just guessed”. he said nervously as he rubbed the back of his head.
” Thank you, I love it”. she opened it and started eating. “hmm..yummy! I love it”.
” Am glad you do”. they chuckled. Meanwhile, Chan-yeol was all alone at their table and he frowned staring hard at one place.
“I can’t believe they left me all alone in this place, d@mn those two! Where on earth did Byung-ho disappear to? I am going to smash them for this”. he grunts angrily.
At the teacher’s canteen, Ji-ho was staring at one spot without touching her food.
” Miss Ji-ho, are you okay?”Mrs.Ye-jun asked.
“Yes,”. she replied smiling forcedly at her.
” Are you sure, because you are not eating and you look paled”? miss Seo-Jun asked.
“Yeah, am fine, I just don’t have an appetite for food”.
” Are you having problems with your boyfriend? You can tell us and we will help you out”.Mrs.Ye-jun said and Ji-ho stared at her quickly.
“no, no, no, is not that”.She stood up to leave.” excuse me”She walked away, and they stared after her.
“She doesn’t look fine”. miss Seo-jun said and Mrs. Ye-jun sighed. Ji-ho came to the restroom, washed her hands, stared at herself in the mirror, and then sighed, after a while, she came out of the restroom and walked to her office, then she saw Baek-Hyun coming towards her, they stopped and stared at each other, and then Baek-Hyun shifts his gaze from her and walk to another direction, Ji-ho sigh and walk away.
During closing hours, Ji-ho and Si-u were walking toward the gate when Dong-Geun called out to her outside the gate, they raised their heads in his direction and they saw him standing next to his car waving and smiling at them.
” Woah, big sis, is that your boyfriend?”. Si-u asked and ji-ho stared surprisingly at her and they moved to him. Baek-Hyun and his friends came out of their inn and caught sight of them as they entered the car and drove.
“Is that Miss Ji-ho’s boyfriend? He looks so rich and handsome”. chan-yeol said smiling. Baek-Hyun sighed and walked away they stared after him confusedly.” That doesn’t sound good to him”. he added and they rushed to meet him.
Dong-Geun drove them home and parked in front of their house.
“Here we are”.
” Thank you, Uncle Dong-Geun”. Si-u said smiling.
“you are welcome dear”. he smiled back at her, and she came down and went inside.
” Thank you”. ji-ho said.
“you don’t need to thank me, I want to take the responsibility of taking you home”.
” you don’t have to” They smile at each other.
“So, ji-ho will you be chance this weekend?”. he asked
” yeah, I guess”.
“Okay, I would like to have dinner with you”. he said waiting for her response, ji-ho hesitated for a while and then smiled at him.
” Okay, I will”.
“Oh, thank you”. he said happily. ” I will pick you up by 6 pm on Saturday”.
“Okay,”. she came down and waved at him as he drove, she sighed and went inside, she was surprised to see Si-u smiling knowingly at her.”what?”
“He asks you out on a date right?”. she grins at her.
” No, he didn’t”.
“I don’t believe you, I saw you through the window and I noticed how glamorous your face looks when you get down from his car, so, he asks you out”.
” yeah, wh@ťěver!”. she said and rushed to the bathroom to freshen up, Si-u smiled after her.
