CHAPTER TWENTY THREE : CLIFOR APPEARANCE 1
Thanatos watch them, they were different ways to get rid of all these kinds of stress, first option was to shut Asmodeus up and go ahead with ki||ing Freya but right now,the way his eyes looked….I won’t like to anger him.
” I don’t belong to you ” Freya step back, fear register in those eyes of hers ” I prefer to die at this moment then to let you touch an……” She couldn’t finish her sentence before Asmodeus drag her out of Chloe quarters.
Exhaling, my gaze travel back to meet Chloe, she pout her lips and step back “is not what you’re thinking, I just wanted to help her ”
” Help her?”
” Yes ” she look at me with full sincerity ” Freya is passing through alot ”
” What does that have to do with you?” I frown ” you have absolutely no right to try something like that”
” Lord Thanatos”
” This should be the last time ” I look at how angry she is getting, I mean in this kind of situation, she should be scared of me, angry at herself, I mean she shouldn’t want me to get angry at her.
That’s what a woman who love me, should think.
” I don’t get why you keep changing ” she move closer ” one minute you were kissing me on that bed and now you are upset I try helping my sister to escape?”
” Chloe ”
” I mean you treat her horribly, she is your wife but you permit your friend to sleep with her, anybody will want to escape!!!!” Her eyes twitch as she growl
” And you obviously think you did right in touching my property?” I move close then look down at her ” she is my wife, I bought her and brought her here…..what do you think bride price is all about ”
She scoffed” are you trying to say you bought me too?”
They is no right answer to that question, am sure she doesn’t want me to be honest ” indeed ” I frown ” what do you think? I married you because I fancy you?” Using my hand, I cup her face and frown ” you are just another product that will perish ” letting go of her, she fake a smile
” You wish” her eyes filled with emotions I don’t understand” you’re a horrible person, if anybody hear about what you did to Freya, they will h@ťě you”
” Will you permit them?” I ask and she remain quiet ” I mean will you be happy if am gone, out of your life?”
” Yes ”
” That stings” I chuckle before walking out of her chambers, quiet a stupid girl, trying her best to hide what she feels for me, me being gone for three days will sure make her realize how important of a person I am to her
” Thanatos” Asmodeus approaches me ” I wish you divorce Freya”
I furrow my brows ” why should I do such a thing?”
“Thanatos”
I blink ” what will I gain”
” You have always wanted the bible right?”
” That is something, I can buy anywhere”
” But it won’t be original,the very first one, produced from God himself…..that way you can get to know why I don’t believe Zeus exist ”
” This is surprising” I move closer ” you must really fancy her”
” I don’t,just haven’t played enough” he smiles” I will be getting my book back, when am done with her ”
“Divorcing her right now, people will talk,saying she must leave here”
“What are you saying?”
“If you want to keep seeing her,just do it without the divorce paper ”
” I don’t understand you ” he step closer fuming in anger” don’t you see that the fact she is rejecting me is because she is still married to you?”
” Asmodeus” I frown ” do you love her?”
” What?”
” Do you fancy Freya”
” You know I don’t, you know very well I do not like humans” his anger is getting out of hand ” all these is just due to my situation!”
” Then get out of my way ” I watch him, it’s obvious he doesn’t fancy Freya, oh no….he just has a thing for keeping his humans who he has touched close to him and then ki||ing them when he wants
He step away and I move towards my horse ” I will be gone for three days ” mumbling, I climb on it ” watch my wives for me ”
” Don’t you think that’s a rather huge request?”
” Not really ” I smile” seeing as you already fancy one ”
” What if I touch the other ” I look at Asmodeus after that last sentence, watch the grin on his face
” Do that if you wish for death ”
Chloe remain quiet, her gaze didn’t waver from the night sky, the stars, the moon, sun has already decides to go to sleep…just like how Thanatos left without a word, it’s been two days.
Two days of battling with demons, of not seeing his face, why will he do such a thing? Atleast he should have told me, I Knew we had issues but that doesn’t mean he should just disappear.
Each time I pass by Freya chamber, I always hear her whimpers, her cries, I won’t be surprised if she dies soon…. Asmodeus is just as horrible as any man they is.
Clenching my hands, I close my eyes and feel the calm wind in the garden, I miss him, it’s just been two days but I already miss his touch, his shy gaze, his kisses…..I miss the way he touches me.
Why did he just leave without talking to me first, Thanatos you bastard!!!
” A calm night isn’t it?”
I step back, out of fear, my gaze move to stare at the man that spoke to me, his eyes, they were only three, two at the normal position and one on his forehead, other than that, he seem human.
The flowers in the garden seem to be closing up ” the sky do look lovely ”
” Wh…who are you?” I stammer, eyes moving round, to catch any openings
” Me?” He smile ” I have simply been watching you grow Chloe, seeing how our goddess turn out to be like this”
” What are you saying”
He step closer, I tried moving but then realized I can’t, am frozen, my eyes couldn’t divert from him either, he close the space between us, dark long nails engage my cheek ” the king will be so pleased as to how I have strengthen you” I frown, not understanding any of this
” Who are you?”
” Me?” A smile appear on his lips ” clifor, that’s what they call me ” he step back and I could finally move ” it’s not safe here for me, the sin of lust is approaching this area ”
I just can’t let this opportunity pass by ” why are you here ”
He knee down ” forgive me milady, I won’t be able to take you with me but I could only come here due to Thanatos absent” he look as if he is in trouble ” I will be back but before I go, let me bless you ”
Everything happened so fast, clifor piercing his fingers into my stomach, I cough out blood, blink and the door to the garden open, revealing Asmodeus ” clifor!!!!!!” He growl, he knows him which means Thanatos must know him too
” You’re late” those were his words before vanishing, I fell to the floor, different images flooded my head, I look at Asmodeus, I know he is saying something but I couldn’t hear, I couldn’t hear anything, almost as if I have gone deaf.
” Thanatos” I choke the words out ” help me” Asmodeus lift me up and rush out of the garden, I look at the sky, feeling my eyes getting heavy and at the moment I thought I turned deaf, loud noises fill my ear.
Both the sound of bees, ant, Asmodeus breathing, I could hear everything and that too at a very high sound ” Ahhhhh” I cover my ears, could feel blood dripping down ” please stop it,it hurts, too loud!!!” Asmodeus drop me down and I cry, even my tears were blood.
All the old maids were beginning to run out of their quarters, making more horrible sounds.
” Thanatos!!!!” Asmodeus yell before looking at me, his voice low but to my ears, still high ” don’t die, if you do…. Thanatos can’t bring back the dead ”
