“Hello, am I speaking with Grant?” A woman’s voice said on the other end of the line.

“You are, Can I ask who’s calling please?”

“Of course, it’s me Leah,” The woman’s voice said and Mina’s mother’s eyes widened.

“How… how…. how did you get my number” Mina’s mother asked, stammering as heart began to pound in her chest.

“There’s no need for you to know that Grant but I would love for us to meet up”

GEORGE’S MANSION.

LINDA’S ROOM.

Celine slowly stood up after her heart stopped pounding really fast but it was still pounding.

She looked through the trying to find Cody but he wasn’t outside anymore.

She let out a short sigh and said,

“Why does he look like Rudy”

She muttered leaving the room.

DINNER ROOM.

Cody slowly drops Linda beside a chair in front of the dinner table where different foods were already served.

“Thank you” She said, pulling a chair out and sitting down.

“You should also sit down, Nathan” Cody said to the standing Nathan as he sat down.

“Thank you, Mr…. Sir…. Cody,” Nathan stammered the last part nervously unsure of what to call the guy that saved his life twice, as he sat down.

“Hel… hell…. hello every…one” The voice stammered behind them and two of them looked back.

“Senior Celine” Nathan called in surprise.

“Hello there Nathan” She waved at him.

“Celine” Linda called full of excitement.

“I was wondering when you would leave the room” Linda asked and Celine smiled nervously staring at Cody who didn’t even look at her.

He was just staring at the food.

“How…. how is he able to act like Rudy” Celine asked inwardly, still staring at Cody and he suddenly looked up at her.

Their gaze met and Celine’s heart stopped beating for a moment.

“His… his eyes… his eyes are just like Rudy’s own, it’s giving me a butterfly feeling” She said inwardly her eyes still locked with Cody’s own.

Linda quickly noticed this and said.

“You should join us Celine, we are about to have dinner,” She said.

“Oh!” Celine exclaimed.

She quickly pulled out a chair and sat down, unknowingly to her she was sitting beside Cody.

“Dig in everyone” Linda said and they all started eating.

For the next few minutes, the only sound in the room was the clinking of silverware and the occasional slurping of soup.

Everyone was enjoying the meal, savoring every bite when Cody suddenly asked.

“Where is father?”

“He is the one who called for this dinner so where is he?” Cody asked, looking at Linda.

EARLIER, WHEN LINDA AND CELINE ARRIVED.

“Father” Celine called, rushing toward her father who was waiting for them in the living room.

“I miss you so much!” She threw her arms around him and he hugged back.

“You were only gone for a day , Linda,” George said, laughing.

“You act like you were gone for months!”

“I know, but I missed you anyway,” Linda said, grinning up at him. “How have you been?”

“I’ve been well,” George said, a twinkle in his eye.

“Though the house has been a bit lonely without you and Cody around”

“Where is he? He hasn’t arrived yet, right? That means I am the first one to get here this time” Linda asked, getting excited.

“I’m afraid not”

“Huh?”

“He first you” George said.

“What?” Linda screamed.

“But where is he?” She asked.

“He told me he has something important to take care of before he leaves but he said he is still coming back tonight” George said.

“Okay” Linda muttered, sounding a bit sad.

“So how was the college and where is your friend?” George asked.

“The college is good and here is my friend. Her name is Celine. She is not just my friend but also my roommate.” Linda pointed at Celine behind her.

George turned to see Celine standing behind Linda, a wide smile on her face.

“Hello, Celine!” George said, offering her a hand.

“it’s lovely to meet you”

“It’s lovely to meet you too, Mr. George,” Celine said, shaking his hand.

“Linda has told me so much about you on our way here”

“All good things, I hope!” George said, chuckling.

“Of course!” Celine said, her eyes sparkling.

“Linda only has the highest praise for you”

Linda blushed, clearly pleased by Celine’s kind words.

George turned back to Linda and said, “You must be proud to have such a wonderful friend.”

“I am,” Linda said, giving Celine a warm smile and she smiled back at her.

“Alright, ladies I have somewhere important I have to go” George said.

“Oh?” Linda asked, surprised.

“Where are you going?”

“I need to go and meet some of my business partners” George replied then some guards walked in.

“Sir, the cars are ready” One of them said.

“Okay, we should get going,” George said.

“Yes sir” The guards chorused, their eyes never leaving him.

“You two can still wait till Cody comes back and have the dinner without me right Linda,” George asked.

“Yes father,” Linda replied.

“Okay, I will be leaving now” George said and Linda nodded.

“Take care father,” She said, a smile on her face.

George nodded, then turned and walked out the door, the guards following close behind.

PRESENT, DINNER ROOM.

“So he went to meet some of his business partners,” Cody asked.

“Yeah,” Linda nodded and Cody continued eating.

Celine on the other hand was just staring at Cody with her heart pounding in her chest.

“Why does he look so much like Rudy?” She asked inwardly, still staring at him.

Cody noticed this and it was already getting out of hand with the way she was staring at him.

He stopped eating and asked.

“Is there something on my face?” he asked.

“No!” Celine said, her cheeks flushing red.

“I was just… lost in thought, sorry if I made you uncomfortable”

“It’s okay,” Cody said and resumed back to his food.

“I just wanted to make sure everything was alright”

“Everything’s fine,” Celine said, trying to recover from her embarrassment.

“It’s just that you look like someone I know, is name his Rudy”

Immediately she mentioned the name Rudy, everyone on the table stopped eating.

UNNAMED BAR.

Grant was sitting quietly alone waiting for Leah to show up.

“What taking her so long and what is she up to?” Grant muttered.

Suddenly, she heard the door open and she turned around to see Leah standing there.

“Hey” Leah waved, walking toward Grant.

She got in front of her and sat down.

“It sure has been a long time since we met up like this,” Leah said.

“Yeah it is,” Grant replied.

“So how have you been Grant since you ran away?” Leah asked.

“That doesn’t concern you Leah, just get straight to the point”

“What do you want for me this time?” Grant asked, her tone becoming more guarded.

She had a feeling she knew why Leah was here, and she wasn’t sure she liked it.

Leah took a deep breath, as if steeling herself for what she was about to say.

“I’m here because I need your help,” She said, her voice barely above a whisper.

“My help?” Grant asked, skeptical.

“You know I can’t help you with anything related to ki||ing anymore” Mrs. Grant said.

“Yeah, I know,” Leah said, looking down at her hands.

“But this is different, It’s not about ki||ing, I have already eliminated any obstacles that might get in the way,” Leah said.

“Obstacles like Georgina?” Grant asked and Leah smiled.

“What with the smile? You are the one closest to Georgina, she was your friend, remember and you order them to ki|| her” Grant half yelled standing up.

“Oh really? Was I the only one who voted for her to die” Leah asked and Grant slowly sat down.

“You guys gave me no choice, I have to vote if not you would ki|| me too, it wasn’t my fault she die” Mrs. Grant said.

“Yeah, that’s right it wasn’t your fault and not mine either, Georgina was just stupid that’s why she died” Leah said.

“Her son was even more stupider than her, imagine that boy planning to get revenge for his mother death”

“He doesn’t know who he is up against,” Leah said.

“If he does, he would have run and hide”

Grant looked at Leah curiously.

“What do you mean?” She asked.

“Don’t tell you ki||ed him” Grant asked as her eyes widened.

“Yes I did, I should have ki||ed him a very long time ago but you guys said we should leave him alone” Leah smiled.

“What?” Mrs. Grant covered her mouth in shock.

“I can’t believe this, why would you do such a thing?” She asked.

“It’s because he was stupid, how could he be planning to get revenge against more than twenty people”

“One against more twenty people without anyone helping him or backing him up, it ‘s just like going to a war without a weapon,” Leah said laughing.

“He was clearly begging for his……”

“Shut up, that’s enough Leah” Grant cut her off.

“I can’t believe this”

“I just can’t”

“How could you”

“Like how could you ki|| your friend’s son” Grant asked, standing up.

“Like I said, he was a thr_@t,” Leah said, her eyes flashing.

“He was going to hurt us, and I couldn’t let that happen”

“I know it’s not right, but it was the only way to protect you and the others”

“I’m sorry, but I don’t regret it”

“I can’t believe you’re saying that,” Grant said, her voice low and intense.

“I’m leaving,” Grant said.

“Wait, I don’t think you should leave yet” Leah said.

“Why?”

“I haven’t told you the reason why I called you here,” Leah said.

“I’m not interested in knowing that anymore,” Grant said.

“Really? It might cost you your son or daughter’s life” Leah smirked.

“What?” Grant’s eyes widened.

“Are you crazy?” She asked and Leah smiled.

“Just sit and hear what I have to say” Leah said and Grant sat down back.

“What do you want? What are you really planning Leah” She asked.

“I’m planning to reunite all the old gang back together again,” Leah said.

“What? Are you crazy?”
