“Are you okay?” Cody asked Nathan.
“I’m fine,” Nathan said.
“Thanks for saving me”
“You’re welcome,” Cody said.
“Let’s get out of here”
Cody and Nathan turned to leave, but Cody suddenly stopped when he noticed something strange.
There were five guys before but only four were laying on the ground, one of the guys was missing.
“Where did he go?” Cody asked, looking around.
He couldn’t see any sign of the man, but he had a bad feeling.
“I don’t know,” Nathan said, his voice shaking and Cody sighed.
He took out his cell phone and dialed a number.
“Hello?” A voice on the other end of the line said.
“Hey, it’s me,” Cody said.
“I need you guys to come over here”
“Is there anything wrong Sir?” The voice asked.
“No,” Cody replied.
“I will text you my location and I want you guys to be here in less than thirty minutes,” Cody said.
“Yes sir, we will be on our way once we receive your location,” The voice said and Cody hung up.
As Cody waited for them to arrive, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease.
Something about this whole situation felt off, and he couldn’t put his finger on what it was.
But he knew that he had to find the missing man, and fast.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he heard the sound of car engines approaching.
He turned to see three black SUVs speeding down the road, headed straight for him.
They screeched to a stop, and a group of people spilled out of the vehicles.
“What’s going on?”
“Are we in trouble,” Nathan asked and Cody shook his head.
There were six of them, all dressed in black suits.
They looked like they were ready for battle, and Nathan was already shaking in fear he wasn’t sure what to make of that.
As they approached them, one of the men stepped forward and bowed.
“I’m glad we found you, Mr Cody” The man said, raising his head up.
“Yeah” Cody muttered and threw his car key at the man.
“Huh?” The man raised his brows, catching the keys.
“My car is down the alley over there” Cody pointed.
“Drive it back to my school,” Cody said.
“Yes, Sir” The man replied and quickly headed toward the car.
He got in and drove off.
“You”
“You”
“You and you,” Cody pointed at four of them.
“Take those four guys who are laying on the ground away and don’t forget to treat the one who is already looking dead,” Cody said.
“Yes Sir ” They chorused and went to carry the four guys who were laying lifelessly on the ground.
After the men had carried away the unconscious bodies into two of the black SUVs and drove off.
Cody could feel Nathan staring at him in shock.
Nathan didn’t understand what was going on or who those six men dressed in black suits are and why they are giving Cody so much respect.
Cody turned to face Nathan.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Nathan replied slowly, looking at Cody strangely.
“Hmm, Is there something wrong?” Cody asked, seeing the way Nathan was staring at him.
“Yes, who are you?” Nathan asked.
“Huh?”
“Who am I?” Cody asked, pointing at himself and Nathan nodded.
“Yes, who are you? And who are those men with the black SUVs?” Nathan asked, pointing at the last guy standing.
“Don’t tell me you’re a criminal?” Nathan said and Cody burst into laughter.
“A criminal,” Cody laughed.
“Hey I’m not joking, are you a criminal or do you belong to some kind of hidden gang or something” Nathan said and Cody didn’t stop laughing.
“I’m serious” Nathan said and the last guy standing frowned at him.
“How could he call sir Cody a criminal, he needs to pay” The last guy standing said inwardly and brought out a gun.
“Sir Cody do you want me to ki|| him” The last guy standing asked pointing his gun at Nathan.
“Huh?” Nathan’s eyes widened in fear when he saw the gun and Cody stopped laughing.
“No, keep your gun” Cody said to the gun and he quickly hid it.
“I can’t believe you would call me a criminal Nathan, after saving your life not once but twice” Cody said.
“No that’s not what I mean I was just ….. ”
“It’s fine Nathan,” Cody said.
“You are curious about who I am right?” Cody asked.
“Yes,” Nathan nodded and Cody said.
“There is no need for you to know who I am, you can just think of me as the big brother you never had because your life is seriously in danger ” Cody said.
“Okay”
Nathan muttered slowly, although he didn’t sound entirely convincing because he was curious to know who Cody is but he had no choice then to listen to him because he also knows that his life is in danger and it’s only Cody that can protect him.
Cody could tell that Nathan was still curious to know who he is, but he couldn’t tell him.
Once he knows who Cody is or his true identity, his life is going to be in more danger than before and Cody doesn’t want that to happen.
Because not only Nathan’s life will be in danger but also Alex’s own and he doesn’t want them to die yet when their love story hasn’t begun.
Cody suddenly smiled and said.
“I wonder how she is doing without me”
ALEX’S PLACE.
“Gesundheit” Alex suddenly sneezes heavily after dropping two foods on the dinner table.
One in front of Rudy’s picture and the other one in front of her.
“Who could be thinking about me this late?” Alex muttered and suddenly sighs heavily.
“I’m sure it is Nathan, that guy is persistent after telling him no countless times, I think I like him,” Alex smiled.
“What do you think about him brother?” She asked, staring at Rudy’s picture and sighed.
“I’ve missed you a lot these past few months, I know you are still alive somewhere watching me so just come back to me already” Alex said and began to cry.
THE ALLEY.
Cody suddenly smiled and said.
“I wonder how she is doing without me”
“Huh? Are you talking to me?” Nathan asked.
“No” Cody replied and tried to change the subject.
“So what are you doing here Nathan?” Cody asked.
“Ohh! About that”
“I actually got kidnapped and when I woke up I found myself laying here”
“What about you? How did you know that I’m here?” Nathan asked.
“I saw your messages,” Cody replied.
“Ohh! That’s true I wanted to show you something on my phone” Nathan said and put his hand into his pocket but couldn’t find his phone.
He checked his other pocket and still couldn’t find the phone.
Panic started to rise in Nathan’s chest as he searched his pockets, again and again.
Where could his phone be?
He remembered bringing it out then returning it back to his pocket.
Could it have fallen out during the struggle?
“Is everything okay?” Cody asked, seeing how panicked Nathan was.
He turned to Cody.
“I think I might have lost my phone,” He said, a note of desperation creeping into his voice.
“I can just get you a new one,” Cody said.
“No!”
“I can’t lose that phone” Nathan said and began to search around.
“I said I will get you a new one,” Cody said.
“No I don’t need a new phone, I need to find my phone” Nathan said.
“I said I will get you a new one”
“And I said no I don’t need a new phone” Nathan said.
“What’s so important about the phone Nathan, I will get you a new one,” Cody said.
“I said I don’t want it”
“Why?”
“Because it’s not just a phone,” Nathan said, his voice shaking.
“It’s so much more than that, It has the video of when Rudy was being shot on the cliff by the principal” Nathan said and Cody’s eyes widened.”
“Huh! What?”
“You were also on the cliff”
