“He’s just a boy,he is still a teenager”
“That’s why we need to get rid of him,” One of the board members said, his voice cold and ruthless.
“We can’t risk him telling anyone what he knows”
“Wait,what does the boss say about this?” Mr. Robert asked.
“She said we should ki|| him” A female voice said and Mr. Robert shook his head.
“You know what to do, Robert” They chorused and Mr. Robert nodded.
“Yes,there is a student in the campus who can carry out the job, Nathan is currently heading towards his apartment” Mr. Robert said.
“Okay, inform the student and tell him to ki|| any witnesses”
DAYTON’S COLLEGE.
GIRLS DORMITORY.
“We are here” Alex smiled as they stood in front of a door.
She was already done showing Linda around the campus.
“Thanks” Linda said about walking in before Alex stopped her.
“Please wait,” She said.
“Huh! Is there something wrong?” Linda asked and Alex shook her head.
“Not really,” Alex said.
“I just have somethings I want to ask you” She added and Linda raises her brows.
“Is it about Cody?” Linda asked.
“Yes, well it’s all about him,” Alex replied.
“Okay,can we go inside first?”Linda said.
“Huh?”
“You want me to go inside with you?” Alex asked.
“Well yes , since you have some questions to ask and I can’t stand here to answer them, my legs hurt” Linda replied as she opened the door with her card.
“Coming?” Linda asked, walking in and Alex nodded as she slowly followed her.
They both sat down on a couch opposite to each other with no one talking.
The room was silent as a graveyard but the only sounds you could hear in the room were buttons of the phone being pressed.
No one among the two of them was ready to break the silence.
Alex was kind of scared on how to ask Linda about Cody so she just kept quiet and stared at Linda as she pressed her phone.
Linda on the other hand noticed this in Alex and she decided to break the silence.
She stopped pressing her phone and asked.
“What do you want to know about Cody?”
“Huh?”
The question took Alex by surprise so she began to stammer.
“Hm…um … mm”
“What… What is the relationship between you and him?”Alex managed to ask.
“Oh! My relationship with Cody”
“We’ve been friends since childhood,” Linda replied.
“Huh! Fri… friends since childhood?” Alex raised her brows in shock and Linda nodded.
“Yes and it’s likely for us to get married in the future”Linda smiles and Alex becomes more shocked.
“But his look, his …”
“I’m sorry Alex” Linda cut in.
“Wait, your name is Alex, right?” Linda asked.
“Yes,” Alex nodded.
“See Alex Cody isn’t your brother, have known him since we were little” Linda said and Alex’s expression changed immediately.
“That’s not true, his look, his smile,his saint, his appearance, his hug are just like my brother’s own” Alex said almost in the midst of tears and anger.
“He is my brother”
“Look, the only reason you think that way is because you’ve missed your brother” Linda said and Alex shook her head in disbelief.
“No, that’s not true” Alex said, her voice shaking as tears rolled down her eyes and Linda sighs.
“I don’t know what happened to your brother,but if you truly believe that Cody is your brother don’t you think he shouldn’t have denied you in front of Principal Robert” Linda said.
Alex’s eyes widened as the truth hit her like a ton of bricks.
Cody had denied being her brother, right in front of Principal Robert.
If he really was her brother, he wouldn’t have done that,He would have admitted it, no matter what the consequences.
The realization hit her hard, and she felt like her world was crashing down around her.
She had been clinging to the idea that Cody was her brother since last night, but now she knew that it wasn’t true.
“I… I don’t know what to do,” Alex said, her voice cracking.
“Okay,let’s say Cody is truly your brother,do you know the reason why he denies you?” Linda asked.
“Huh?”
Alex thought about it for a moment, trying to make sense of the situation.
“I… I don’t know,” She said, her voice sounding small and defeated.
“I can’t think of any reason why he would do that except if he is trying to protect me from something ” Alex said and Linda smiled.
“Maybe there’s something going on that you don’t know about,” Linda suggested and Alex raised her brows.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“If Cody is truly your brother It’s possible that he is trying to protect you from something,” Linda said.
“Maybe there’s something going on in his life that he doesn’t want to burden you with, or maybe he’s trying to keep you from getting hurt”
“It’s hard to say for sure without knowing more about the situation”
Alex considered this for a moment, trying to wrap her head around the idea.
“I guess that’s possible,”
She said, remembering how Rudy always tried to take all the blame and h@ťě by himself just to put a smile on her face.
“But what could he be protecting me from?” Alex said inwardly standing up.
“I will be going now,” Alex said.
“Alright, feel free to drop by anytime” Linda shrugged as Alex walked out.
Linda picked up her phone and saw a text message from Cody.
It says: Alex is a curious girl and I’m sure she is going to ask you some questions,so please Linda don’t let her find out that I’m brother, I don’t want to lose her.
Linda’s eyes widened as she read the message.
She was shocked by what she had just read.
“Ahhhh” Linda screamed, rushing out of the apartment when she mistakenly bumped into a lady and they both fell heavily on the floor.
“Are you okay?” The lady asked, standing up.
“Yeah,I’m fine,” Linda replied, also standing up.
“What about you?” She asked.
“I’m good,” The lady replied.
“Wow! You look beautiful” Linda exclaimed.
“Thanks,you also look gorgeous” The lady said and Linda smiled.
“You seem to be coming from the door over there?” The lady asked.
“Yes,” Linda replied.
“That means you are my roommate,” The lady said.
“Really?”
“That’s cool,my name is Linda, what’s yours?” Linda asked.
“Celine”
BOY’S DORMITORY.
“Ho… How do..did you know” Nathan asked looking frightening and Cody chuckled.
Cody walked closer to him and whispered into his ear.
“I also know that you saw what happened to Rudy that night” Cody said and Nathan’s eyes widened in fear.
“How… how did you know that?” Nathan asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
“I can’t tell you that,” Cody said, shaking their head.
“But I can assure you that you’re safe with me, I won’t let anything happen to you”
“What… what do you mean?” Nathan asked, his voice trembling.
“What’s going on?”
“I can’t tell you that either,” Cody said.
“But I promise that everything will be okay, Just trust me”
Nathan wasn’t sure what to do. He was scared and confused, but at the same time, he felt a strange sense of relief.
He had been carrying the burden of what happened to Rudy all by himself, and now someone else knew.
Someone who might be able to help him.
He took a deep breath and looked up at Cody.
“I… I’ll trust you,” He said, his voice quivering and Cody put his hand on Nathan’s shoulder.
“I’m glad,” He said.
“Now, are you ready to go inside?”
Nathan nodded, trying to be brave but deep down he was scared,because the guy who owns half of the place has a criminal record.
Cody opened the door with his card then suddenly screamed.
“Dodge” Cody screamed as he saw a knife flying out.
The knife was heading straight for Nathan.
