CHAPTER 13💔14
“You can sit here”Fredrick said after a while pointing to the couch and Monalisa sat down.He sat opposite her and cleared his throat
“Who are you?A stalker?”Monalisa asked.
Monalisa felt like something was amiss.She had never seen Fredrick until recently but the pictures around his office seems to have been there for a while.
“Will you start speaking?”Monalisa asked sternly and Fredrick cleared his throat
“Actually,I have known you for years now though not upclose but I have been watching you since you were still a musician.I am….”Fredrick paused and trailed off searching for the correct word to qualify himself
“You are what..”Monalisa asked impatiently
“I am…Would you care for a cup of coffee”Fredrick said as he got on his feet trying to change the topic but Monalisa wasn’t buying it
“You are what?”Monalisa yelled at him and he sighed rubbing his temples
“Fine though I didn’t think my confession will be like this but since you want it now then I won’t hesitate.”said Fredrick as he stared at Monalisa to be sure she wanted to hear him speak but she only urged him to go on
“I am a fan of yours ever since you started music.I have bought and listened to all your albums and I also bought tickets to all your shows though I never got the chance to attend them.I…”Fredrick was saying but he was interrupted by Monalisa chuckling
“So you are an obsessed fan?”asked Monalisa and Fredrick nodded negatively
“Then how do you explain all of these?”asked Monalisa pointing to her pictures
“I am not obsessed,Lisa.Am in love with you.I love you very much and my heart ached alot when I heard that you quitted music but fate brought us together”said Fredrick and Monalisa felt the sincerity in his words.She felt like he didn’t know she didn’t quit but she was ruined.Unconsciously,tears trickled down her eyes
“I appreciate the fact that you are a fan and you are in love with me but the Mona you are in love with already died five years ago.This one right before you is a different person.Holding onto pictures of mine would only make you fall deeper for me and it will hurt you so much when you want to let go so it is best you let go of the pictures now.You are a billionaire and being in love with someone like me might dent your image so forget about Mona”Monalisa said in tears and Fredrick felt the pain and hurt in her words
She must have been through a lot in the past five years and she had been so broken and unbelieving in herself.He knew he had to change her perspective
“Don’t say that,Lisa.I am never going to give up on you.Am here for you as a friend.Am always a fan of yours whether you are a musician or not.I will deal with my problems alone but let me deal with yours also.It took me so long to find you so there is no way am letting you go now”said Fredrick and Monalisa stared at him
It is been a while she saw someone willing to stand by her and deal with her problems but could she trust him?Even people she never expected to betray her did when the scandal broke out more or less him who just fell for her through her music.Shee wasn’t ready to experience the pain of betrayal once again
“Am sorry,Fredrick but I can’t have you around.Am sorry”said Monalisa as she tried to leave but Fredrick pulled her back and slammed his lips against hers
For a moment in five years,she felt peace and comfort but she wasn’t ready to put her heart into it.She wasn’t ready to trust the peace that mightn’t last long
Fredrick kissed her passionately speaking the unspoken words through the kiss and passing in different words of comfort to her.He wanted her to know that he wasn’t going to leave her side.He was the cause of all of it and it was only right that he cleaned his mess asides that he fell for this woman in the past five years and right now letting her go is not amongst the things he wants to do.Fredrick pulled apart and she felt void again
“Am going to let you go for now.Am giving you space and time to think about me staying with you.I want you to know that you can pour all your problems on me and am ready to take it all.You know my shoulder is stronger than a wall made of metal”Fredrick said and Monalisa felt more tears pour down her eyes
Fredrick just uttered lyrics from her song “Your problem fighter”
“Do you memorize my song’s lyrics?”asked Monalisa and Fredrick nodded
“I know every single lyric in every song you sang.I made sure I knew all of it because am your word keeper and your personal dictionary always ready to give meaning to your sad moments as struggles to the way of happiness”Fredrick said and Monalisa smiled.That was another lyric from another song of hers
“You can leave now.The driver is waiting to take you home downstairs”Fredrick said “And no arguments”added Fredrick and Monalisa walked out of the office
