“Wait, what!”

Nathan was the one who screamed from upstairs and Hayes quickly broke the kiss when they heard the scream.

Nathan’s eyes kept bulging out as he came to the stairs, his eyes not leaving Tessa. He was watching everything from afar not until that kiss happened.

“What did I just see dad? Are you and nanny Tessa having a relationship?” He asked in bewilderment and Hayes tried to act cool.

“Eavesdropping is bad Nathan!”

“Stop scolding me for nothing dad! I saw everything… Uncle Xavier was the reason for mom’s disappearance? Buh how?”

Xavier cleaned the blood on his lips with tears in his eyes as he turned to Nathan.

“Did you really do that Uncle Xavier? Is what dad saying the truth?” Nathan asked with in a whimpering sound.

“Uh, Nathan… Let’s go upstairs to your room, you need to do your assignment right?” Tessa interrupted and that distracted Nathan a little bit.

“I know you’re a good person uncle Xavier” He said and finally went upstairs with Tessa.

Hayes looked at Xavier and he hissed before starting to walk away but Xavier was quick to hold him back on the arm and Hayes looked at the arm he was holding.

“Can we meet? Tasty restaurant tomorrow evening please… I need to explain myself to you” He said and Hayes took a step away from him.

Without replying, he started walking to his suite leaving Xavier in distress.

“Wow!” Jerkins, Dexter’s producer recorded until Dexter was done singing.

Matty kept watching him until he left the studio. Matty was his rival in the music industry.

“Wow, man… You suck!” He gave thumb down and Dexter rolled his eyes as Jerkins handed him a towel to clean his sweaty face.

“That’s a lie Matty! We all know he sings better than you” Marvis, Dexter’s best friend argued.

“How about we make a competition?” He offered and Dexter smirked.

“Sure, tomorrow” He said without thinking and Matty nodded as he walked to the studio to start his own intro and verses.

“You’re gonna be having a concert to rock in in the next three days Dexter and I want you to do your possible best. Don’t try to even drink a cold water because of your voice” Jerkins instructed.

“How much are the willing to offer? You know I don’t do concert for free” He said.

“5M” Jerkins replied and Marvis mouthed a wow.

“That’s huge bro, congratulations!” Marvis smiled, sipping from his lemonade juice.

“Thanks dude” Dexter smiled.

The door to the main room they were in suddenly opened and Kimora barged him like she was the queen.

“Dexter baby! I knew you’re gonna be here!” She exclaimed happily and Dexter starred at her, feeling irritated.

He wasn’t expecting her to show up. “How the eff did she know he was here??”

“Who is she Dexter?” Marvis asked.

“Oh, I guess he forgot to introduce me to you guys. I’m Dexter’s girlfriend and wife to be” She replied, rushing to hug him but then he pushed her away from him immediately.

He dragged her up again and pushed her harder again making her earn a cut on her elbow.

“Ouch”

“Stay the fúck away from me! I told you the other day, I don’t know you and I don’t need someone like you you shitting hole!” He thundered fiercely and Jerkins got confused.

“Who’s she to you Dexter? And what is she doing here?”

“I swear I don’t even know this girl and…”

“Stop lying and just tell them I’m getting married to you! Here is the proof!” Kimora stood up angrily and threw her left hand in the air, and an engagement ring in her finger came to view.

Everyone gasped even Dexter gasped too.

“What! When did I get engaged to you?! When did I even proposed?! Why are you bent on disturbing my life young lady?!” He snapped and Kimora grinned, playing with her hair.

“You never told us that you’re engaged. Congrats man” Matty patted him from behind and Dexter almost lost it. He shut his eyes and opened it back again.

“Get out!”

“I came all the way here to see you and you’re telling me to leave? No way!” Kimora replied stubbornly and sat on the couch beside Marvis who was still looking at her.

“Fine! If you aren’t gonna leave then I’ll leave and don’t f-__-king follow me!” He fired and pulled the headphone on him away and handed it to Jerkins.

“Bye!” He said and walked out. Instantly, Kimora stood up too.

“Dexter!”

“Baby boo!”

••A BAR••

The loud music booming from the two speakers and neon light seems to be distracting Natalie as she served customers who just kept on coming and coming.

Her other colleague wasn’t active throughout so she had to take orders from the boss.

Dexter came to the bar straight after the occurrence at the studio earlier. He was in an angry mode and the scenario of Kimora telling him they are engaged kept playing in his head.

Like how…??

“Natalie! Table 32!” The boss announced and Natalie nodded with a tiring smile as she prepared the alcoholic drink in the glass cup.

She walked to table 32, placing the glass there. The person’s head was bent down on the table and she knew it’s a male.

“Sir… Your drink” She lamented and the guy raised his head with teary eyes and Natalie’s eyes widened when she saw it was Dexter.

“Dexter!”

“Natalie!”

They both exclaimed at once feeling surprised to see each other.

“Why the tears? And what are you doing here?”

“I should be asking you that, since when did you start working here?” He asked instead.

“Last week, got fired from my job for a reason known only to me which I don’t wanna share and I needed to pay my rent… At least I’m not rich like you” She said sarcastically and he understood her completely.

“I’m sorry” He muttered, guiltily.

“Stop apologizing… I have a boyfriend” She replied almost immediately and he stood up.

“Are you still mad at me? We can still fix us Natalie. I really love you and I can’t bring myself to loose you” He muttered sadly.

“Then you should learn how to move on too.. I’m on my work time so please excuse me and have a nice time here” She replied again and finally left.

Dexter sat down back slowly and gently sipped from his vodka drink feeling frustrated at same time.

“$h|t!” He ruffled his hair madly with anger.

NIGHT*

“Tell me who is making my baby sad” Kingsley said when Natalie came back from work looking sad.

She knew within herself what she told Dexter earlier was a liar. She doesn’t have a boyfriend yet but she was ready to accept Kingsley.

“I’m just tired” She whimpered and went to get a cold glass of water to drink.

“Let me give you a massage then, that will make you feel better” He said and she nodded as she sat beside him. She unbuttoned the first two buttons of her shirt and it went off her shoulders.

Kingsley bit his lips hard as he stared at her spotless body. His hands rubbed her and she released a silent Mõ@ɲ.

“Kingsley” She called and he stopped massaging. “Mhmm…”

She turned to face him and her eyes landed on his pouty kiss shape lips and she felt the desire to run her lips on his.

“Will you be my boyfriend?” She asked without thinking and it felt like his brain just flew into space with a rocket cus it went blank for a second.

“Your boyfriend? Are you serious?”

She didn’t respond as she pulled him by the shirt more closer to herself and locked his lips with hers in a passionate kiss.

“Mhm..oh..”

“Where are you going?” Hayes asked when he came out from the library he was reading from. He had a glass on his face giving him a oldish look but he removed it.

Tessa had also just put the boys to sleep and she was planning to leave when she saw him.

“I resigned from this job so I’m going back to my place already.. what am I still doing here?” She replied.

“Are you kidding me? You came back after my persuasion to meet the boys and come back to them and you’re still saying you wanna leave?”

“What’s going on between the both of us Sir it isn’t proper and…”

“Who said it isn’t proper? Tell that person to go to hell. I want you to be the mother of my kids and that’s it” He replied.

“What do you take me for sir Hayes? Do you really love me or you’re doing this for your arrogant desire? You promised to break me remember? What’s all this!” She gruffed.

“I wanna take things serious from now on Tessa, give me the chance to make it up to you. I know I have been a bad and strict cold boss to you but I’ve grown to know you as a better and peaceful person. To be honest, from the first time I met you I felt myself drawn to you but I was ignorant to show to it out. I never wanted to bring my ego down..”

“I never wanted to be fixed but you fixed me Tessa” He added and Tessa was already feeling tingles. She felt butterflies in her belly as he spoke those words to her.

“Did I fix you? How did I do that?” She asked, wanting to know as she stared intensely at him searching for clues in his eyes.

The house was silent like they were the only ones left in the world.

“The moment I couldn’t find you that day I almost went crazy Tessa, trust me I even h@ťěd myself. I even went more crazier when Nathan got involved in that accident. I swear if I get to find out whoever did that, I’ll ki|| him or her with my two bare hands” He gritted, and she caressed his arms.

“I’m sorry too”

“Please sleep with me tonight” He said and she blinked. “Uh?”

“Stay with me tonight please”

MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT•°•

FLASHBACK~IN A DREAM*

“Ahh!!!!” The loud scream of Lavanya erupted as the incoming vehicle in front of her car that night collided with hers. The car somersaulted and fell down the hills, exploding together with her that night.

END OF FLASHBACK DREAM•

“Ah! Ah!” Hayes panted as he woke up from his sleep. He just had a nightmare about his ex-wife disappearance and he felt so scared.

Tessa woke up when she heard his fearful pants and she hugged him quickly.

“Shush now, I’m here. Calm down” She pecked him on the lips gently and He looked at her, hugging her like she’s his airbag.

“Tessa… Please don’t leave me too” He whispered with tears slipping out of his eyes and Tessa was flabbergasted.

Was he crying??

“Don’t leave me like they did too”

“I won’t, I’ll be here for you no matter what” She whispered back as their foreheads collided together.

Staying that way through the whole night.

••NEXT DAY~5PM~TASTY RESTAURANT••

“What would like to have sir?” A waitress attended to Xavier who was sitting down, his eyes always turning to the door awaiting Hayes.

“Bugarito and two glass of orange juice” He replied and the waitress nodded as she left to bring his orders.

His face brightened when he saw Hayes’s car parked in front of the restaurant revealing Hayes.

He was dressed casually with a face cap on like he was trying to avoid gaining the people’s attention and reaction.

He got in and eye searched for him, he saw him and walked to him.

“I have less than five minutes here so say wh@ťěver you wanna say to me” He said, sitting on a chair. Xavier cleared his throat and entwined his hands together.

“I know I did you wrong in the past and that led to our parents death also but the past is the past Hayes, let bygones be bygones. I’ve been trying my possible ways to earn your forgiveness… It’s just..”

“It’s just what? By telling lies to Tessa? By making her believe you’re a good person?” Hayes retorted, already burning up with flame.

He clenched his fist on the table and made to stand up to leave. “Wait, I need to tell you something”

“3 minutes remaining” He gritted and sat back.

“I know who tried to ki|| your son that other night” He spoke and Hayes stared deeply at him, suddenly feeling engrossed.

“Who? f-__-king tell me?!”

“Twas Emery… and that was the same night Tessa was also kidnapped. She planned everything” He answered and Hayes stood up at once.

Xavier wasn’t even able to speak when he started storming out of the restaurant.

“Hayes! Hayes!”
