CHAPTER 43⚔️44
Loveth waited in the bar as she looked out the window expecting Michael. She chose not to believe that he is so mean not to come and see her.
She checked her wristwatch and it was 10:00pm. It dawned to her that he wasn’t going to come and she had just be waiting for him like a fool.Tears slowly flowed down her cheeks as she packed her bags and left the bar.
She felt so foolish and dumb.He probably wanted to cut all ties with her after the one-night stand but she didn’t want it to just be a night stand.She wanted to know if things could work out between them.
She walked down the streets sobbing and passerbys wondered what was wrong with her. She kept on walking though she couldn’t see where she was going as her eyes were filled with tears.
Suddenly,a light shone from afar followed by a loud horn and screams from people. It dawned to her that she was at the middle of the road but it was too late. A loud bang echoed in the air and she got ran over by a car.
She laid down with blood oozing from her head as passerby gathered around her. The only thing that came to her mind at that moment was Michael. She wasn’t ready to die at the moment,she still wanted to get answers from him. She needed to know why he didn’t show up that day.
Everything suddenly went dark and the last thing she remembered was the oozing sound of the ambulance.

Michael ran into the hospital sweating profusely. He got to the receptionist’s desk and was shown the way to her room. He walked slowly into her ward as he imagined the state she would be. It was all his fault if he had gone to meet her then all this wouldn’t have happened.
He walked in and saw her lying lifelessly on the bed with an oxygen mask worn.Tears flowed down his cheeks as he knelt beside the bed holding her hands tightly.
He had always been so harsh to her and shown no care or sympathy.
“Please,wake up. I promise I will always come to you when you want me to. Please don’t die. I won’t forgive myself if you die.”cried Michael as he squeezed her hand in his.
“Who are you?”he heard a voice behind him and he was surprised to see Brian as he turned. Brian was equally surprised too.
“What are you doing here,Brian?”asked Michael as he stood up from the floor.
“I should be asking you that,Micky. What are you doing here?”asked Brian as he stood in front of Michael. Brian’s eyes were red and it was obvious he had been crying.
“I came to see Loveth. I got a call that she had an accident so I rushed over. Why are you here?”said Michael.
“She is my little sister so I have to be here.”said Brian and Michael gasped.
“Little sister??You never told me you had one.”said Michael. Brian sighed as he looked at Loveth before staring at Michael.
“Let’s talk outside”said Brian as he walked out and Michael followed.
“It is a long story”Brian began.
“As you know,am an only child but that’s not true. It’s just what my parents wanted people to believe. When Liveth was at age 5,she was sent to live with my aunt who stays at the country side and that was where she stayed until my recently when my aunt died.”he paused and cleared his throat.”She came back home about 6months ago and my parents weren’t going to accept her because they didn’t want the truth about their other child to be revealed so they settled her. They bought her a house,a car and made her a large shareholder in one of their companies but Loveth didn’t want all that all she wanted was her family’s affection.I noticed that and I kept in touch with her even after my parents sent her off.We became closer and couldn’t do without each other.I got her a small apartment where she lives and I sometimes visit her there. Recently,she has changed alot and became withdrawn and when I asked she said it was a break up trauma.I so much want to find the guy who messed with my sister and punch him to death but she doesn’t want that.I want to make up for all the years I have been absent as a big brother”concluded Brian and Michael sighed.
He could see how much Brian cared for Loveth and he felt disheartened.Brian wouldn’t probably forgive him if he finds out that he was the cause of his sister’s current predicament.
“By the way,how did you get to know Loveth?”asked Brian and Michael’s heart skipped.There was no way he was going to let Brian know that he had a one night stand with his sister.
“We met at her bar and we became friends”lied Michael though half of it was true.
“I see. I have a feeling that depression made her encounter with this incident.According to witnesses at the scene,she was in tears before the accident and she didn’t know when she walked to the middle of the road. No matter what I promise I won’t let whoever made her depress go.I will make sure he/she go through ten times the pain she passed through.”said Brian with great determination.He had a dark look on and Michael sighed sadly.
