Late in the night Gibb Chan was fast asleep
with his lovely wife Kitana Chan.
Suddenly he wokeup panting slowly as her wife
woke up too because of his contiguous
swiftness.
He looked around the room and Kitana stared
at him incredibly.
” What’s wrong honey? ” Kitana asked.
” Sonya! ” He called.
” A night mare? ” She asked.
” Yeah I need to check up on Sonya” He sounded
worried.
” She’s asleep… ”
” I need to check up on Sonya ” He picked up his
eye glass and put on. He stood up from the bed.
” Aww” She looked at him as he walked out the
door heading to Sonya’s room.
He Ç0çƙ Sonya’s door and walked in. He stared
on her bed seeing a figured covered on the
bedsheets.
Gibbs walked to the bed and looked at it
substantiating.
He paced in the room and went to the bed and
uncovered up the bedsheets and he noticed that
it was not Sonya lying down covering herself.
Instead she straighten arranged pillows and
covered with bedsheets to look like her sleeping
on the bed.
Mr Gibbs was dumbfounded with Sonya tricky
idea.
Wondering where she might went to by such a
late night.
” Kitana… Kitana.. Kitana” He called on her wife
in the room.
Kitana walked in seeing him whirling.
” What is it? ” She asked.
” Where is your daughter? Where is Sonya? ” He
interrogated pointing at Sonya’s bed.
She moved close to the bed and uncovered the
bedsheets completely seeing no one lying down
unsteady pillows.
Kitana stood mute and cluttered.

Few hours Jung her boyfriend drove her back
home.
He stopped at the house gate, they hugged each
other warmly and she walked out of the car
waving at him while he drove off.
She stood the gate was already locked as
always.
Sonya removed her shoes and threw them
inside the gate.
She climbed the iron gate inside slowly.
Slowly put her hand in the narrow space in the
door and unlocked the way door slowly.
Immediately she turned, she saw John Lau
coming with a walking stick.
He’s really a strong old man full with energy.
” Hello John” She voiced immediately looking
scared and caught.
” Hmmm” John made confirmatory nods.
Suddenly her dads and her mom walked up to
them amazed seeing Sonya stood outside.
” Sonya where are you coming from? ” Mr Gibb
yelled.
” Actually it was Bianca birthday so I went to her
house” Sonya said looking elseway heart beats
faster.
” Do you think I am stupid? Why didn’t you tell
anyone you are leaving the house” Mr Gibbs
questioned.
She shaked her head slowly.
” Actually I just got the information so I didn’t
want to bother you ” She lied.
” Honey please the good thing is she’s back,
please let her be” Kitana said pleading.
” You are indulging her and she’s growing
wings” Gibb turned to his wife.
” But dad it was an urgen…. ” Sonya voiced.
” Hmm ” Mr Gibb thrum cutting in angrily she
kept mute.
He walked out from them silently.
Kitana walked up to Sonya and dragged her in
as John locked the entrance door.
(INSIDE SONYA’S ROOM)
” What is wrong with dad, why is he acting like a
chameleon? Tomorrow he shows me all the
love in the world today what I saw in his eyes is
hatred….. Yes I stepped out of the house no big
deal I’m back now, why is he behaving like that.
He’s seeing me up like am some child” Sonya
yelled.
Her mom stood watching her insinuating in the
room.
” Sonya! Thank God you know you are no
longer a child, you should start acting your age.
What is wrong with you? You are driving
everybody nuts. You know this your sneakiing
around is very dangerous, you are the only child
I have Sonya, do you wanna ki|| me? What is
wrong with this gir… You should know when
your dad start acting like this its out of love not
out of hatred” Her mom yelled.
” And you can see how happy loving me makes
him right? “Sonya said.
” That’s between you and him, he’s your dad go
and sort out things with him. What is wrong
with this girl? I didn’t murder my mom so you
can’t murder me” The mom said disappointedly
and walked out her room.
She sat on the bed scowling feeling frustrated
and discomfited.

Next morning, Mr John Lau sat facing the gate
as Mr Gibb horn his car to leave for work.
Mr John scurried to the gate and opened the
gate for him.
He drove and stopped before John responding
to his wink hand position.
” Good morning Mr John” Gibb greeted.
” Good morning sir” John said.
” How are you? ” Gibb asked.
” I’m fine sir… Please sir I want to ask you for
something ” Mr John said.
” What is that? ”
” My grand son wants to come and see me and I
said I should ask you first. Its not good when
you come back you find a stranger in your
house ” Mr John requested.
” It fine he can come is your grandson so no
problem ” Mr Gibb said.
” Thank you ”
” Alright ” He drove out.
