Chapter 24
“Boss”Daphne muttered, trying to hide the shock on her face.
“I asked what you were doing?”Natasha asked.
“I wanted to come into your office to see you but the door appeared to be stuck”
“It’s locked”Natasha said, straight faced
“Oh,that must be why I found it hard to open”
“You knew I wasn’t in my office yet you wanted to come in to see me?”Natasha said with a smirk
“I had no idea you weren’t in your office”Daphne said, looking as innocent as she could.
“You saw me leave the supermarket”
“No I didn’t”She shook her head
“I’m hundred percent sure you did”
“No…I didn’t. I was just coming from the restroom” Daphne said
Natasha took a long look at her and thanks to her excellent poker face, Natasha couldn’t detect if she was lying or not.
“Okay”Natasha said “So,what was the reason you wanted to see me?”
“Um…I wanted to ask if I could leave the supermarket early today. I have something important I have to attend to”Daphne said “it’s really important ma’am”She pleaded, sounding really serious.
“Alright”Natasha said after a long pause “But don’t expect me to give you my consent the next time you want leave my supermarket early”
“Yes ma’am”Daphne nodded and exhaled as she turned her face away from Natasha’s, walking back to the counter.
She had no idea Natasha usually locked her office whenever she went out.
Natasha went into her office and picked her phone which she forgot earlier. That was the reason she came back to the supermarket.
She locked the door after coming out of her office and left the supermarket.
Daphne sighed as she watched Natasha leave.
‘How am I supposed to plant the camera in her office if she locks her office whenever she goes out?’ Daphne thought and sighed ‘Darn it,I really want to fix it today’ She muttered and glanced at Natasha’s office.
A smile crossed her face when a plan suddenly popped in her head.
°°TWO HOURS LATER°°
Natasha was back in her office and was now working on her laptop but was interrupted by a knock on the door.
“Come in”She said.
Daphne came in and closed the door behind her.
“Ma’am”Daphne bowed slightly,her hands clutching the door handle behind her.
Natasha sighed.
“What do you want?”
“Um…I wanted to let you know that I’m leaving already. Remember I told you I’d be leaving early”Daphne said.
“I also remember giving you my permission already”Natasha said, raising her brow slightly to glance at Daphne.
“Yeah but I just thought it’d be nice to let you know that I’m leaving already”Daphne said
“Do you have a problem with the door?”Natasha asked, seeing how Daphne clutched the door handle.
“Um…My cloth got stuck. I’m trying to get it off”
“Do that quick and leave my office” Natasha said sternly.
“Yes ma’am”Daphne nodded and turned,facing the door handle.
She secretly attached the camera on it. It blended well with the door handle since they both shared the same color – Black.
“I’ll leave now”Daphne said to Natasha who didn’t care to spare her a glance as she left the office.
Daphne grinned after coming out of Natasha’s office.
“I got to leave early,cool”She said.

°°TWO DAYS LATER°°
Kiara smiled as she looked around. Erik had his hands tucked in his pockets as he stood beside her.
The theme park was bustling with all sorts of activities and was filled with lots of people. It was colorfully lit and the air was filled with scents, coming from all sorts of snacks.
“You look really happy. You should thank me for bringing you here” Erik said, facing her
“I could have come here myself if I wanted to” Kiara said
“It would be no fun coming alone”
“I have a best friend who would gladly come with me”She said “And, you were the one who asked me to come with you”
“We’re friends now. Asking you to come here with me shouldn’t be a big deal”He said.
“It wouldn’t be if you weren’t being so Ç0çƙy”She muttered.
“Ç0çƙy?”He asked in disbelief “Another negative thought”He said.
“It’s not my fault you keep acting…”
“Fine”He interrupted her and stood in front of her “Okay,um… Thanks for coming here with me”He said
Kiara chuckled and looked away, knowing he was trying to change her thought of him as a Ç0çƙy person.
She faced him
“You’re not being sincere”She said
“Hey”He frowned.
She looked at him, anticipating his sincere gratitude.
Erik sighed.
“Thank you”He said “For coming here with me”He added with a smile.
Kiara folded her lips.
Erik bit his lower lip hoping she wouldn’t find a fault in what he just said.
Kiara smiled inwardly. It was fun seeing that look on his face.
“Okay”She nodded “That was sincere enough”She said “And, you’re welcome”She added.
He smiled.
“So, which of the rides do you want us to try out first?” He asked.
“Um… Let’s get some snacks first”She said
“I’ll get us some cotton candies,my treat”She smiled.
“I’ll come with you”He said.
“You can wait here,I won’t take long”She said and turned to leave.
Erik smiled as he stared at her.
He’s been really happy these days, hanging out with her.
He’s never had this much fun with anyone else as he does with her and he’s also never felt really happy as he does with her with anyone else,not even Ivy.
“Mr Erik”He heard behind him and he turned only to see Ken.
A lady with glasses was also with him.
