Episode Forty-Five.
“Please don’t do this to me, Flynn. Kyle! Elle!” Melanie cried profusely, she hurried out of the bathroom and then out of the room.
“Elle! Kyle!” She screamed as she descended the stairs.
She dashed to the corner where Kyle and Elle were, crying and screaming out their names.
“Elle!” She shouted and bang Elle’s door with all the strength she had in her.
Hazel opened the door and creased her brow in wonder, why was Flynn’s wife crying profusely?
Elle opened the door and Kyle opened the door of the room almost immediately. He dashed towards Melanie who fell to the ground, crying.
“Lanie, what is wrong?” Elle bent beside her.
“Help… Flynn… I don’t know what is wrong with him,” Melanie stood up and started to run upstairs.
Everyone followed her swiftly, including Beverly, who woke up from the noise.

“What happened to him?” Elle began to cry as soon as she saw her brother laid helplessly on the cold floor.
“He fainted after he vomited. I don’t know why that happen,” Melanie answered and knelt beside Flynn.
“I can’t lift him alone. Elle, Devon should still be in the mansion, get him, fast!” Kyle shouted and Elle dashed out of the bathroom while Kyle keep trying his best to lift him.
Hazel bit her lips in fury, if Flynn die, then she is doomed.
“What did you do to him? Did you push him?” Hazel turned to look at Melanie who didn’t even spare her a glance.
“I asked you a question. Are you guilty as charged?”
“If you utter any more word, I won’t think twice before showing you your place,” Melanie glanced at her then returned her gaze to her husband.
After a minute had passed, Devon dashed inside the room the hurried to the bathroom and knelt beside his boss that Kyle had managed to sit him up.
“We need to go to the hospital, Devon,” Kyle said to Devon who nodded his head hurriedly.
Devon placed his head between Flynn’s arm while Kyle did the same and they both lifted Flynn from the ground.
Elle rushed inside the room, panting. When she had went to call Devon, the guy sped past her that she couldn’t see any traces of him.
“Elle, call doctor Hudson inform him that we’re on our way to the hospital,’’ Kyle said and Elle nodded her head then rushed out of the room to take her phone.
Kyle and Devon walked Flynn slowly out of the room while Melanie and Hazel followed.

Devon pulled the car hurriedly in front of the hospital where Doctor Hudson and two other doctors were waiting and a few nurses who were carrying a stretcher waiting for the patient to arrive.
The nurses with the stretcher waited patiently as Devon and Kyle carried Flynn out of the car. As soon as he was brought out of the car, Flynn was placed on the stretcher and was wheeled inside the hospital immediately.
Kyle held Melanie who looked like she would faint in the next minute and they both hurried inside the hospital while Elle trailed behind them.
Hazel cursed inwardly as she got down from the cab she boarded from the mansion to the hospital.
No one even invited her inside the car and left her out of everything they were doing.
Ugh.
She sighed as she grabbed Beverly by her wrist and hurried inside the hospital.

Elle sat beside Melanie outside the emergency room where her brother had been wheeled into and kept patting Melanie who needed comfort. Devon and Kyle paced to and fro waiting impatiently for the doctors who were behind the closed door to come out.
It was already late so Elle decided not to call Melinda and Tyler till the next morning.
Elle hissed as she saw Hazel and Beverly walking towards them.
This woman got no shame at all.
She even have the nerves to follow them.
After a few minutes had passed, Doctor Hudson came out of the emergency room and breathed nervously. Seeing all of Harlan family makes him nervous.
He wondered if he should tell them about Flynn’s condition or keep mute.
He was torn between saving Flynn’s life and keeping his mouth shut.
“What happened to my husband?” Melanie asked hurriedly.
“The test result is not out yet. Uhm… by the way, did Mr. Flynn say anything to you, precisely about his health?”
Melanie shook her head and suddenly remember she saw him using some drugs, “Not really, but I saw him using some drugs. He said it was for headache.”
“I don’t know if I should tell you this. I made a promise to your husband,” Doctor Hudson breathed out.
“Do you care about a promise you made to him now that he is in this condition?” Kyle frowned his face.
“No, but you know how Mr. Flynn can be.’’
“Please tell us. Is it about his condition?” Melanie asked in a whisper and Doctor Hudson nodded his head.
“Mr. Flynn came for a checkup about two weeks ago and he was diagnosed with a…brain tumor.’’
“T…that’s a lie,” Melanie shook her head in utmost disbelieve.
“The only way he can survive it is if he undergo a surgery but he refused and had me prescribe drugs for him. As I suspect, I think the tumor has reached his lung and surgery is almost impossible.’’
Melanie shook her head as she heard the word the Doctor had just said.
No… no!
That can’t happen.
How could her husband be so sick that surgery was almost impossible?
‘’NO!” Melanie screamed and fell into oblivion.
Kyle hurriedly grabbed her so that she won’t have to fall with her present condition.

Melanie woke up on the hospital bed but refused to open her eyes.
What she heard earlier was part of the dream she just had.
None of it were real.
She tried to make herself believe that.
But no, it was too clear in her head for her to think it was part of her dreams.
She opened her eyes slowly and saw Elle looking at her.
“Melanie…” Elle forced a smile and help her sit up.
“Where is my husband?”
“He has been transferred to a private ward. Kyle and Devon is with him, don’t worry,” Elle held her hand.
“How could I not worry? Take me to him please, I want to see him.”
“Melanie, think about your condition. You should rest, you will go to him in the morning,” Elle said and Melanie shook her head.
“No, Elle. I will die of curiosity. I need to see Flynn now,” Melanie swallowed hard and Elle shook her head.
Her sister-in-law was way too stubborn.
“Okay.”

“Melanie, everyone won’t let me in to see Flynn. Please, let me see him just once,” Hazel said to Melanie as she was about to enter the ward Flynn was.
“And you think I of all people will let you in? I don’t want you near my husband,’’ Melanie glared at Hazel then walked inside the ward with Elle.
Melanie couldn’t control her tears as she saw her husband lying on the bed, breathing with the help of oxygen.
Her ever agile husband, was breathing with a life supporting machine.
Kyle stood from the chair and walked towards Melanie and pulled her into a hug.
“He will be fine,’’ he pulled away and led her to the chair that was beside Flynn’s bed and make her sit on it.
“Flynn…” Melanie whispered, tears falling from her eyes.
Her heart ache so much.
Her husband was in a position she had never imagined him to be.
Her husband was dying.
It hurts her so much to see Flynn in such condition.
Her world was crumbling because the only person who gave her so much reason to wake up the next day was here, lying unconsciously in a hospital dress.
“Why didn’t you tell me about your condition?” Melanie started to cry as she took Flynn’s hand in hers.
“You didn’t even think about me or our baby,” Melanie cried.
Devon furrowed his brow as he heard what his boss’ wife just said.
They were expecting a baby?
He shook his head, he was just acting strong.
He wanted to cry.
The person who gave him a second chance in life was dying.
He remembered how Flynn saved him from a loan shark ten years ago.
If not for Flynn, he would have been dead because the people from the loan shark was bent on selling his kidneys and other organs from his body.
Ever since Flynn had saved his life, he had vowed he was going to serve him till his last breath.
When he realized that his boss had fallen for the woman that stole from him, he felt he was the happiest man to see his boss love another woman after what Hazel had done to him.
But now that his boss was dying, he wished he could perform a miracle to save his boss.
He had not even thank him properly for what he had done for him.
“You said you were going to name our baby Finn. How would that happen if you refuse to go for a surgery? Babe, please wake up, I don’t want to lose you… I want to grow old with you. Babe… Flynn, please…”
Melanie cried profusely, everyone in the room found that moment emotional that they had no idea when they began to cry.
