Dexter took her back to the bed,and in no time,she slept off again.
“She’s asleep now” Dexter sighed,as he stared at her cute face that has been stained with her tears.
Though,he had cleaned the tears already,but there were still some,because she cried till she slept off.
Dexter feels for his baby so much.
After going through pains in the wicked hands of Wendy,this has to come in too.
“We are so sorry,Mr Justin. For the pains and hurts.
“I can imagine what it feels like to lose someone,then talk of you losing two loved ones to a terrible accident,at a time. We are so sorry ” Janice said with all sympathy.
“Take heart,and take it easy,you’re a man. So,be strong for your daughter” Robert said too,and Justin nodded silently.
He’s hurting inside so much,thinking about how blinded he was,to have married someone who literally ki||ed his wife,just to be with him.
He just cannot forgive himself for that.
“I hope you can forgive me for all my mistakes. I made the wrongest decision,and I’ve been a bad father to our daughter. I was supposed to always look out for her,and keep her away from harm.
“But I couldn’t fulfil that. I am sorry,Lydia”Justin cried inwardly,as he asks his late wife for forgiveness.
He turned to Annika’s side,and saw how she’s sleeping peacefully. He managed to smile,even though it was hard.
“I am sorry,my girl” He kissed her hair,and said.
“So,what’s the plan,father-in-law? She cannot go unpunished” Dexter said,agitatedly.
Yea,they already know each other,and Justin is aware of Dexter’s relationship with his daughter.
“I am filing a court case against her,once Annika gets better” He replied.
“And to those who caused my daughter pains,they should be ready for me” He further said,angrily.
“Do not bother about that,father. I will handle that case myself” Dexter reassured him.
Roland just kept staring in disbelief.
He canot believe,the same Gloria whom he confronted for the truth about his mom,also had her own dirty secret.
He has even decided to keep what he wanted to tell his dad. Maybe some other day,but he definitely will tell him.
If Robert is going to disown him,then,let it be so. At least,he has said the truth,and gotten that guilt off his mind.
His mom is the most despicable woman ever!
^^FEW HOURS LATER>>EVENING
Annika finally woke up,after sleeping for three hours.
Sana,Mina and the rest have gone home already. They had to,cause they were all tired.
Janice especially needed to go home with her husband that evening.
So,it’s just Dexter, Justin and Verity that are left in the hospital with Annika.
“Where is my dog?” Annika suddenly asked,when she realized she has not seen her dog since she was brought to the hospital.
“I was just about asking where Anni is” Justin said too,frowning a little.
“Anni has been with the vet Doctor,getting her treatments” Verity answered.
“Vet Doctor? Treatments? Did Anni get hurt or what?” Annika asked confusedly,as she doesn’t get why her dog is getting treaments.
“Yes,baby. Anni was badly hurt by your abductors. She was the one that made me know about the abduction,after she came with your broken phone to my place” Dexter explained,and Annika gasped.
“Ohmigosh! My poor baby” She exclaimed sadly,pouting.
She h@ťěs to see her dog hurt,or even not happy.
“Anni is the best,loyal,and most intelligent dog I’ve ever met,sis. And trust me,she’s better now” Verity smiled at Annika.
“You can say that again” Justin replied.
Annika looked at Verity levelly,and smiled too. Now,she’s happy to hear that her dog is alright.
And yes! Her dog is the best dog in the whole world! Nobody needs to tell her that.
“Should I go get it now?”Verity asked.
“Don’t worry,I’ll ask Ian(his driver) to pick it up when coming with what I asked him to bring for me”Dexter quickly said,and Verity nodded.
He then rang Ian immediately,and told him what to do.
^^ROLAND’S MANSION^^
It wasn’t long after Roland got home,when his mom came to his house.
She has never been able to see him since the truth was out,because Roland doesn’t give her the opportunity to.
If he had allowed her in,those days he was still very mad at her,he would have probably hurt her out of anger.
He’s been happy throughout,for the good he did,and praises he got.
But seeing his mom right now,has changed his happy mood.
“What do you want?” He asked rudely,and scoffed.
“I know I still deserve some respect,I am still your mother whether you like it or not” Victoria half yelled,and Roland chuckled for no reason.
“Do you still have shame at all? You should be cowering in shame,and hiding in your dirty shell as it is.
“I know you’re the one who exposed your best friend because she did same to you. You both are wicked and heartless!” Roland flared.
“What are you talking about?” Victoria asked dumbfoundedly.
Of course she knows what Roland is talking about,but,how he got to know,is what confuses her.
“Oh,they didn’t inform you?” Roland chuckled again,confusing Victoria more.
“I was actually with the Kleins’ at the hospital today”He started derisively,and she widened her eyes.
“One of their loved ones was hurt. So,I was there with them,and I even saved the day.
“f-__-k! You have no idea what it feels like to be a good person”Roland said,trying to make his words sink into her brain.
“You….were with the Kleins’?” She asked,stuttering.
She was starting to sweat already,hearing that alone.
What if he has told them the truth? And why is he talking about being good? Has he decided to be good now?
All these,were the thoughts running through her mind.
When Roland noticed her sudden uneasiness,he laughed shortly.
“Do not panick,mom. I didn’t tell them anything” Roland smirked,and immediately,Victoria let out the breath she didn’t know she was holding.
“I couldn’t,because I didn’t get the opportunity to. But,guess what? I am still gonna tell them the truth,and until I do so,my mind will never be at rest” He smiled mockingly.
Victoria gasped,and her eyes widened again,as she stood still,staring at her son in befuddlement.
“I am changed now,and trying to be the better person I can. So,if you’re here concerning that,I’ll advice you to stop bugging me,cause I won’t change my mind” He said with all seriousness.
“You wouldn’t dare,Roland. You wouldn’t dare do that to your mother!
“I did all these for your sake,I wanted a better life for you,Roland.
“I’ve worked so hard to get all these,and I won’t sit and watch you ruin everything!” Victoria shouted loudly.
“Watch me do it” Roland thr_@tened,and left for his room instantly.
“Then,it’s time I did what I tried to do to you twenty three years ago.
“Get rid of you! You’re no longer useful to me,anyway” Victoria mumbled sinisterly,as she watched him ascend the stairs.
^^WAKEFIELD HOSPITAL>>DUSK
“Woof!” Anni started giving loud barks,as soon as she sighted her owner on the hospital bed.
She was on a leash as Ian walked in with her. The dog ran immediately,jumping on Annika’s bed.
“Careful,Anni. I can see you’re all better now”Dexter chuckled at the over excited dog.
“Aww,my doggy”Annika gushed,as Anni kept moving about in excitement. She’d wag her tail,pause and lick Annika’s face,then Dexter and Verity’s.
The dog was just too happy. If only it could express its feelings by saying it out loud.
“Thank you Mr. Graham” Dexter turned to Ian and said appreciatingly,for bringing Anni the dog. Ian grinned happily,and nodded his head.
Dexter just addressed him as “Mr” and even said thank you to him. He’s so happy right now,and feels like hugging him tight like a father would do to his son.
Dexter was always so cold and arrogant to him,but lately,he’s nothing as such.
Justin left for home too,not quite long.
“Thank you,Mr. Graham” Annika said too.
“You’re welcome,Miss Annika” He replied Annika with a smile.
There’s something he has always wanted to ask Annika,but has never gotten the chance to.
He was about doing just that,when The Doctor walked in,with a stethoscope around his neck.
He smiled as he walked closer.
“Good evening,Doctor” They all greeted in unison.
“Good evening. How’s my patient doing?”Doctor Mark asked.
“She’s doing awesomely well” Annika replied soundly.
“Happy to hear that. I actually came to inform you that,the surgery will commence in minutes time” He informed.
Annika’s happy face changed instantly on hearing that.
Dexter noticed it and held her to himself immediately.
“It’s alright,Baby,you’ll be fine. You have to do this for our baby,and for you to be okay. Now,can you smile for your Boo Bear?”Dexter pacified her,and she smiled immediately,feeling better a bit.
Seeing that smile on her face,Dexter’s heart tingled in excitement,and he smiled too.
He got up and kissed her forehead,eyes,nose,then her lips,softly.
“I love you,baby. And you’ll be fine” He pulled away and said,rubbing cheeks gently.
