THREE DAYS LATER*
Joy stared at her reflection in the mirror and sighed, she took her gaze to the small box on the stand, and memories of what happened three days ago came rushing into her head
FLASHBACK
“Dr. Joy Phillip, will you marry me?” Rex asked as he got down on one kneel
She stood there speechless, the whole place was silent like a graveyard as everyone awaits her reply
“I’m sorry Rex,” she said in her mind while taking in a deep breath, her eyes closed
She looked at him and step forward, ready to give him the bad news but then someone shouted from outside
The audience watching shifted their gaze to the direction of the voice and she sees that as an opportunity, Joy held his shoulders and he looked at her hand before staring at her face
“Please stand,” she said more in a whisper
He was dumbfounded, he could feel his heart breaking into pieces as he stared at her face
“I don’t really know how I feel about this, can you give me some time?” she asked gently, trying not to sound harsh
“Yeah… I mean sure, take as much time as you want,” he replied and she pulled him into a hug

LAW AND ORDER*
“Ethan….. I know you don’t want to talk to me right now and I can’t apologize for putting you here but I can reopen your case…”
“You can,” he scoffed and stood from the bench, walking over to her
Ethan stopped at the iron gate staring at her with nothing but h@ťě
“I’m innocent, I did nothing wrong and you put me here, you lied against me when you don’t even know me, is it because I’m black?” he yelled, fighting back tears
Danica was silent
”You know they told me that you were gonna get justice for me and you did, isn’t that funny?” he roughed his head and turned around
Ethan swiftly turned again and face her
“I’m in here for a crime I didn’t commit just because I’m black, tell me if I was white just like you, will you just sit and watch them throw me behind bars?” he asked furiously
“Ethan, your color….”
“Answer the d@mn question, I’m gonna spend 27 years of my life for a crime I didn’t even know about, oh gawd. Is this how good you’re? Putting black people behind bars?” he shouted, shaking the gate
She shifted back a little
“Just look at me, I did nothing wrong and you put me here….”
Danica didn’t wait for him to finish and walked off.

ALEX’S APARTMENT*
“Coming,” Alex said going over to the door, her phone on her ear
“Oh, come on George honey, you can’t possibly buy that,” she said over the phone
“Are you saying is bad?” George asked
They are currently on a phone call, he went out to check for a new house and she’s at home arranging their things
“yeah, it’s horrible, why not go back to the other one you sent….”
“Who is paying for that?” he shouted and she laughed
Alex stopped at the door while holding the door handle, laughing
“My Dad will buy it, he owns a hospital so he should be able to buy me a house, I’m his daughter, right?” she asked giggling
The doorbell ranged again and she opened the door only to come face to face with her father
“George honey can I call you back?” she asked
“Is there a problem?” he asked curiously
“What do you want?” Alex asked ignoring the question, she didn’t end the call either
He swallowed
“I bought you this as a gift for your wedding, it’s a new house and….”
“My husband and I are not wretched enough to accept something from you,” she cut in rudely
“It’s not for charity but….”
“A way for you to ki|| me the way you ki||ed Mom,” she cut in
He lowered his gaze, fighting back tears
“It was all a mistake and I’m sorry for all that I did, I was a horrible father and I know I’m not worthy to be called a husband or a father but all I ask for is your forgiveness, even though I won’t be part of your life, please just open up a little and forgive my wrongdoing,” he pleads, going down on his knees, balls of tears came rolling down his cheeks instantly
Alex went closer, she bend to his level bringing her face closer to his
“I will never recognize you as a father let alone my own father, never!” she said to his face
Mr. Trent just allowed the tears roll freely down his eyes, Alex turned to go back into the house but she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen
“Argh,” she groans, holding her belly tightly
“Alexandra,” Mr Trent called going over to her
He tried touching her but she hit his hand away
“Back off!” Alex snapped while shifting backward, slamming the door in his face
“AG, are you alright?” George asked worried, he heard everything
“It hurts so bad George honey, my stomach hurts,” she winched in pain, falling on the couch before rolling off to the floor
“I’m coming, hang on,” the call ended

THE WINFREY’S MANSION*
Summer gently opened the door staring at Rolando who was busy dancing in his room without noticing her presence
It was the same exert moves he makes in front of her on the rooftop where they had their fast kiss, leaning by the door she rested her head on the wall watching him
She has been moody all through, even going out to meet friends seems to be hard, she can’t focus or do anything right, always failing all her classes
Rolando suddenly turned around and their eyes met, she quickly left there, walking away but she haven’t taken up to eight steps when Rolando suddenly pulled her back from behind
Her face darkened instantly
“I know I don’t deserve forgiveness but please hear me out, okay? Summer the truth is, I wanted to tell you but I was scared, yeah I was! I didn’t know where to start, how you’re gonna react, or how you’re gonna deal with it, listen I just found out a week before……” She forcefully took her hand from him follow with a slap
