A broad smile spread on the Director’s lips when Axel entered his office. He quickly got to his feet and pulled him to a hug.
“You did it! I’m so proud of you!” He smiled happily.
“It’s all because of you, sir. I can’t imagine myself in this position if not because of you” Axel smiled too.
The Director broke the hug and shook Axel’s shoulder, patting it gently.
“I’m glad you made it, thanks for not putting my effort to waste” he smiled.
Axel looked around the office before inserting his hand into his pocket. He brought out a key and gently placed it in the Director’s hands.
“Here’s a token of my appreciation, I’m still going to do more, trust me” he said.
“I didn’t help you for this, I only did what was right” The Director refused.
“I know and the little way I can appreciate that is just this way. The car is outside, please accept it with your heart,” Axel said.
The Director smiled before pulling Axel to a hug again.
“You’re so humble, thank you so much. Your wife will be so lucky to have you,” he said.
“No… I’m the lucky one to have her,” Axel mumbled beneath his breath.
“So, what are your plans now?” The Director finally asked.
“I should see my parents, it’s high time to let go of the past” Axel smiled
“That’s good. You’re the heir after all”

BLUE HAVEN~BEACH HOUSE***
“I’m so happy, Mom!” Melanie screamed happily, staring at the diamond ring in her finger.
“Congratulations baby, your Dad and I are so happy for you” Mrs. Brown said over the phone.
“Thank you, Mom,” Melanie smiled. They talked for a very long time till Axel returned.
“I need to go now, I love you!” Melanie blew kisses to the phone before ending the call.
“You’re back,” she smiled, limping towards him.
“Hmm,” Axel tucked a strand of hair to her ear before bending to kiss the necklace on her neck.
“I’m visiting home today, and I want us to go together,” he muttered.
“Finally,” Melanie smiled while he chuckled.
“Were you bored while I was away?” He asked.
“Hmm, very” she pouts.
Axel carried her in his arms, heading to the bathroom so they could have a change of clothes.
“I’m sorry,” he kissed her forehead and Melanie held onto his shirt.

THE BRAUN MANSION***
“He’s back! Young Master is back!” A maid screamed happily when Axel entered the mansion with Melanie beside him.
Like someone being chased, Mrs. Braun rushed out of the room and her joy knew no bounds when she saw her son.
“My boy!” She screamed, rushing to hug him.
“You came back! You’re back!” She cried, holding him to herself.
“I’m sorry, Mother,”Axel muttered gently.
“No, no, you don’t have to. It’s all my fault, I wasn’t a good mother to you! I should have just respected your decision,” Mrs. Braun cried.
“Stop crying, Mother. I’m back now,” Axel smiled.
Mr. Braun took slow steps towards them. He was happy and scared at the same time. Scared that his son won’t be able to forgive him after everything.
“Son,” he called gently.
Axel broke the hug and to Mr. Braun utmost surprise, Axel pulled him to a hug.
“I’m sorry, forgive your useless father” Mr. Braun said with his voice strained.
“It’s okay, let’s all forget about the past,” Axel smiled.
“Oh my son! Thank you so much, I’m ready to make amends. You can take over all the companies, I don’t care. You can marry the woman of your dreams, I’m in full support. Just don’t leave anymore, I nearly died” Mr. Braun poured out emotionally.
Axel grinned and faced the smiling Melanie who was already in his mother’s arms.
“Meet my fiance, Melanie Brown ” he introduced.
He gestured to Melanie to come closer which she did. He held her hand, his hand rubbing the ring.
“She’s the love of my life, Father. And we’re getting married soon,” he introduced.
“That’s great! Just great!” Mr. Braun went to Melanie and held her hand.
“I knew it was going to come to this, thanks for staying beside my son even when he had nothing,” he said.
“Father!” Axel chided and Melanie laughed.
“He’s just a cute bunny that I can’t do without,” she smiled.
“Thank you daughter, for staying by my son even when he was away for three years” Mrs. Braun said.
“Welcome to our family, Melanie Braun,” Mr. Brown said.
Melanie gasped and Mrs. Brown pulled her to a motherly hug.
“Thank you so much, Mom. I’m forever grateful,” Melanie smiled happily.
Axel stood there, watching them with smiles all around his face. Four years ago, he wouldn’t have imagined himself being so in love with just an innocent fragile girl.
A girl who managed to capture his heart with just flickering her cute eyes lashes. The one who made him knew what love was, his only woman. The one he’d be spending his forever with…. Melanie Braun.

★ EPILOGUE, THREE MONTHS LATER ★
The wedding was the most awaited day everyone had been wishing for and it was finally here, it was a shut down.
Axel stood before the priest, dressed in a black tuxedo, a white bow tie, button studs, a white shirt and patent leather shoes to match.
He was staring at the entrance eagerly, waiting for his bride to make her entry. And finally, she appeared.
His mouth flew open as he watched her, making a grand entry with her father by her side. Even though her face was covered with the veil, he could perfectly admit that she was the most beautiful creature he had ever met in his life.
When she finally got to him, he extended his palm towards her and she gladly took it, flashing a pretty smile at him.
“Take care of my daughter for me,” Mr. Brown whispered to him.
Axel bowed in respect before facing the priest. After making their vows, they shared their kiss which erupted a loud scream from the audience.
“This is just so beautiful, I hope mine will be the same,” Paisley smiled, admiring the ring on her finger.
“It will, trust me,” Ace said beside her.
Aaron and Lauren got married just a month ago, and Ace already proposed to Paisley. They’re both planning their wedding.
Aiden finally met with the girl he was chatting online with and it turned out to be an innocent girl, one who captured his heart immediately.
Indeed, love is really unpredictable and a beautiful thing.
The wedding was the talk of the town and it was really glamorous!.

MOMENTS LATER~RECEPTION HALL***
The hall was filled with couples dancing to the rhythm of the music.
Axel was staring at Melanie affectionately, stealing kisses from her occasionally.
“Can’t believe you’re finally mine,” he whispered.
Melanie giggled, wrapping her hands around his neck.
“I have something to tell you,” she suddenly said.
“What’s that?” He asked.
She suddenly stopped dancing and tiptoed to his ears, whispering some words.
“You’re growing in me,” she whispered.
Axel’s eyes widened. He moved back to stare at her and she flashed a sweet smile at him in return.
“OMG!!!” He carried her in his arms and twirled her around which got people wondering what was wrong. But they could never understand what he was feeling at that moment. It was second to none!
“Thank you baby, for this precious gift. I promise to cherish you for the whole of my life, I’ll never break you,” he peppered her face with kisses and Melanie laughed out happily.
It was the best day of their life. The day they were both blessed by their marital union and the welcoming of their unborn baby.
“I love you baby, this bad boy loves you so much,” he whispered.
Melanie leaned closer to his chest, feeling his heartbeat.
“I love you more, my assassin” she murmured gently.
Axel smiled. She was finally his forever!
Even after everything, love found them and they were both going to scale through any difficulties that came their way.
