[ PRETTY GIRL ]
The soft sound of that piano was melodious, Charlie couldn’t help but smile and the sudden urge to sing something, anything, came to her head.
And she couldn’t resist, she didn’t know how it happened but her mouth opened and began moving, her tone was soft and smooth like a river that’s flowing without resistance.
?You said, “Forever, ” and I almost bought it.
?I miss fighting in your old apartment.
?Breaking dishes when you’re disappointed.
As she sang; I miss you, I’m sorry by Gracie Abrams, she moved a bit closer to the person playing the piano.
Hearing that Melodious voice behind him, Declan closed his eyes as his fingers danced on the keyboards piano.
?I still love you, I promise.
?Nothing happened in the way I wanted.
?Every corner of this house is haunted.
?And I know you said that we’re not talking.
?But I miss you, I’m sorry.
There was silent for a short while but that didn’t stop Declan from playing the keyboard then Charlie resumed.
?I don’t wanna go, think I’ll make it worse.
?Everything I know brings me back to us.
?I don’t wanna go, we’ve been here before.
?Everywhere I go leads me back to you
?You said, “Forever, ” and I almost bought it.

She wrapped the song up and released a happy sigh, that felt good.
Declan played the keyboard for a few seconds before he stopped and slowly opened his eyes.
“That was nice” he stood up and turned back to see who’s angelic voice was that.
When they saw eachother, they were both startled. Declan had this pair of grey orbs, his eyes were deep and sharp and as he stared directly into her green eyes, it was like a lightning suddenly flew to her heart and burst something that has been caging it all along.
He was so handsome that she couldn’t contain herself as she stared. She might think she is the only one feeling this way but she’s not, Declan was feeling every single thing this girl was feeling.
This would be the first time he’d turn to look at a girl and his mind would scream, ‘Pretty girl!?’ right at him.
Silence passed and none of them could say anything other than staring until Charlie began hearing something.
It sounded like someone was drumming in two beats inside her and it sounded so loud in her ears. Her hands slowly went to her chest to feel it and she wasn’t wrong, the sound was coming from there.
It was her heartbeat, this would be happening to her for the first time in her life after so many years.
What does this mean?
“Great.. you have such a great voice” Declan finally got his voice back but it came out in a whisper.
Charlie smiled and removed her hands from her chest.
‘Her smile’ Declan couldn’t help but stare again. That smile is surely something he’d love to see over and over again even if it’s one million times.
“And you play the piano quite well too” she also found her voice to reply and it happened again.
There was silence between the both of them, no one talked and they only kept staring at each other.
“Declan there you are, Gael asked me to come call… Woah pretty girl!” Harrison who was coming out of the mansion got startled when he saw Charlie.
Declan turned to look at Harrison before turning back to look at Charlie.
“He’s my friend, we live here” he pointed their building that’s not too far way from the building the master of fairies gave them.
“No way, we are neighbors I live there” Charlie pointed the building next to them.
Declan smiled.
“That’s great, you are our new neighbors, may I know your name please?” He asked with a gentle smile.
Charlie tried her best not to look at his face as she replied.
“Charlie”.
“Beautiful name, I’m Declan, leader of DMGH band group, I don’t know if you know us” he introduced as he stretched his hands out.
Charlie stared at his white hard looking palms before bringing her small hands to accept.
The both of them shivered, the feel of her soft palm was so wonderful and he suddenly didn’t wanna let go of her.
Harrison noticed this and he immediately waved at their faces as he introduced himself.
“And my name is Harrison, the forth member of the group, I’m the cute baby. The other boys are inside and since you’re our neighbor, we’ll come pay a visit some day, do you have friends?” He asked.
Charlie released her hands from Declan which she regreted because his hands were so warm but still she nodded at Harrison’s question.
“I do, they’ll be happy to meet you and the boys” she replied.
“That’s great, good night then, I’m sorry but Declan gotta go, bye” Harrison wrapped his hands around Declan’s shoulders.
“Me too, see you guys tomorrow” Charlie smiled and turned around then began leaving.
Declan couldn’t stop watching her leave.
“Oh come on men, she’s just a pretty girl!” Harrison rolled his eyes.
Declan shook her head,he stared till she was out of sight.
“She’s not just a pretty girl, she’s different” his voice came out as a whisper.
“How?” Harrison rolled his eyes and was silently calling his bluff.
A silly smile appeared on Declan’s face and he touched his chest, feeling his abnormal heartbeat.
“I just know” he whispered again, still staring at her invisible traits with a smile.
Harrison groaned and forced him to turn around, then began pushing him in.
“You’re acting so weird and I’m scared, let’s go inside, Gael is still calling you” Harrison forcefully pushed him in.
