“What are you talking about Simi?” Mom asked, staring them. “It’s nothing.” She mumbled.

“What do you mean by that? You just said that Kunle was almost hit by car.” Mom replied.

“Mom, I’m fine. She’s talking about someone else, not me.” Kunle tried to convince her.

“I don’t agree with you. She said you and you’re talking about someone else, were you hurt?”

“Mom, I’m okay. Nothing happened to me and besides I wasn’t the one who was hit or was almost hit by the car. I was at home throughout that day.” He lied, Simi sighed softly and thank God, after everything his mom didn’t come up with any question.

“So Simi, how did you see her? Do you like her?” Kunle asked, staring at her. “Yeah, she’s beautiful and i think both of you will be getting along. I wish you good luck.” Simi said.

“Thanks.” He replied, smiling. “Do you have her number? So that you can call her up and you know talk to her, ask how her day went and all that.” Simi muttered.

“Uhm..I forget.” He grin and glance at his mom. “Don’t worry I got you covered.” She replied and winked at him.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know. I’m sorry, please.” She pleaded, with a little frown on her face.

“Even after giving you a tip, to shut you up.” Kunle muttered and sighed softly. “I’m sorry.. I didn’t know when I say it out. I promise I won’t make sure mistake again, trust me on this one.” She mumbled, waiting for his response.

“Okay. Where’s the number? I want to call her.” He said, staring at her. She smiled and went the closet, she searched for card that was given to her and luckily she found it.

“Here’s it, bro. Call her and talk to her sweetly. And I wish you good luck.” Simi muttered and left.

“I will try calling her again.” He said to himself and called her again, she picked up and apologize.

“Who are you? How can I help you?” She asked. “It’s Kunle..” He muttered. “Kunle! What do you want?”

“Let’s hang out tomorrow, I will like to come to your office, I hope you wouldn’t mind..I mean no harm, let’s get to know each other better.”

“Don’t come to my office, I will meet you at the restaurant tomorrow that was the agreement.”

“I was only trying to be…romantic, right? I don’t need it, you want me to fall for your stupid love. That’s your plan and guess what, it will never work.” She replied and hang up, but Kunle didn’t know,he was repeating the hello until he noticed that she has hang up already.

“This is serious. You will definitely fall for it, it’s a promise. Maybe then I will act like you, you know payback time.”

“But I’m not like that.” He mumbled and sighed softly, he laid on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

Kunle quickly finish up his work and headed to the restaurant, he arrived at the restaurant thinking that she is already there. It turned out to be a No!

He took a seat and waited for her, he tried calling her but it’s not going through.

“Good afternoon sir, What would like to have?” The waiter asked, politely. “Hm, nothing. I’m waiting for someone.” He replied.

“Alright sir.” He replied. “When she comes we will make an order.” Kunle said, smiling. “Alright, sir.” He replied and left.

Thirty minutes later, she came rushing into the restaurant, Kunle saw her and stood up, he gave her a signal. She nodded and walked towards his direction.

“Good afternoon.” He greeted, with a smile. “Good afternoon..” She replied and sat down.

“No apology?” He questioned. “Better late than never..” She replied, he sighed softly.

“So what would you like to have? The waiter was here and I told him that I was waiting for you, that when you come we will make an order for anything we want.”

“I don’t need anything and besides we’re here to talk about ourselves, what we like and dislikes” She muttered.

“Yeah, that’s true but insist that you eat something.” He said, staring at her. “Waiter!” She called.

The young man came and she ordered for a champagne. “Alright, ma’am. Any other thing?” The waiter asked.

“No, am good with that.” She replied. He nods in response, “What about you, sir?” He asked Kunle.

“Uhm, get me fried rice and chicken. And a glass of juice.” He replied, “Alright, sir.” He replied and left.

“Is that all you want? Won’t you eat something?” He asked. “Yeah, I’m okay with it.” She replied.

Some minutes later, the food and drinks they ordered was kept on the table and Amber pop the champagne, Kunle concentrate on his meal, since she said that she’s okay with champagne.

Minutes passed and left the restaurant, walking around the surroundings. Kunle stopped, so she did.

“Why did you stop?” She asked, staring at him. “Nothing, tell me what you like and dislike.” He muttered.

She smiled, “I like to have my own privacy. I like being me.”

I h@ťě men, like you. I h@ťě when people come to my room uninvited. I h@ťě when people touch my personal things.” She said.

“Okay.” He mumbled and sighed softly. He rubbed his forehead, softly and didn’t stop staring at her.

“Okay, okay. I know you don’t wanna ask, about what I like. But I will tell you.” He replied and cleared his throat.

“I love a hardworking woman. Smart and gentle. In all I love you and you’re the woman that am talking about. You captured my heart.” He replied, smiling.

“I see, well I have an important business to attend to.” She muttered. “Oh, seems like your work comes first. And congratulations on your newly contract, don’t be surprised. It’s everywhere on social media.” He said, smiling.

“Can you stop smiling for a while?” She asked, not feeling comfortable. “I can’t, it’s has always been me. Try smiling even your worst state.” He said.

“Wh@ťěver, I have to go.” She said and he walked her to the car. “Miss independent.” He mumbled, she glanced at him and smiled.

“You just said, that you love your hard working.” She replied. “Yeah, not a workaholic.” He responded

“Did mom tell him about my work? He better don’t think of stopping me from going to work.” She thought and got into her car.
